Time To Say Enough Is Enough

I look about my world and I seem to be alone

I reach out to others by computer or by phone

The problem that keeps me in my lonely home

Is deep within myself and my inability to roam

Once I traveled all around this world so wide

Never caring that there was no one at my side

But now it seems that all that ends with fears

I sit at home with my only company my tears

How I long for those happier days

Seen only as in some distant haze

What could have changed to cause this plight

Was it me or you or something in the night

I look around and now more than ever

I crave that acceptance from whomever

Everyone must love me it seems

But that can only happen in dreams

Why is it so hard for me to know

That nothing will change as I grow

I look back and try to remember only all of the good

That is a great way to live for the future as I should

But in masking all of the pain from the past

I raise such expectations that can never last

So to all of you I say

Live for each day

Don’t spend time worrying about what has already been

And spend your time preparing for your freedom to win

Because we have made for us a prison of the mind

No bars of steel or walls of concrete can better bind

Political correctness is the banner of the day

But rewriting history will never change today

Leave the past as it was for it has already been

Let’s change the now to make the future win

The past was imperfect so just let it be

Just learn from it and now we are free

To change the future is a noble cause

To rewrite the past will fix no flaws

In the past they used words that are never said today

They used them and meant them and that was the way

To say it never happened cannot change the event

So many people had been mislead and astray went

No need for correct pronouns or debating about God

Is he a man or a woman or does that seem odd

Stop trying to make everyone be just like you

Everyone is different that is just what we do

We need to learn to trust people who aren’t just like us

And embrace the people who are different without a fuss

So to all of you I state such a simple plan

Just love each and all of your fellow man
