How Do I Know Weather I Am Transexual,rather Than A Cross Dresser

Hello,could any one Give me any Advise, on How To know weather i am A Transexual,I am Going to a gender clinic soon.I am Worried That i Might just Get Diognosed as a Crossdresser,rather Than a Transexual.I Would not be Bothered if i was Diognosed as a Transexual.But i dont Like the Idea that i am a man who likes to wear female clothes.Please could someone give me some information in finding out who i am.Thankyou.

What can I say... If the gender clinic you will be visiting soon is a good one ie, staffed by experienced mental health professionals who specialise in all aspects of gender dysphoria...they should be able to correctly diagnosis your condition...Just be open and honest when being questioned about your feelings and experiences...If you don't agree with their diagnosis then by all means seek a second opinion from an independent source...In regards to Benjamin's Syndrome[transsexualism] no two life experiences are exactly the same...JUST BE OPEN AND HONEST WITH YOURSELF AND THE MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS...I wouldn't suggest taking any notice of the outcome of any 'cyber online' gender tests...It's best to see a REAL LIVE gender specialist in person...Hey if you are diagnosis as a 'crossdresser' what's the big deal... if you go to the crossdresser section in this forum you will find others who have come to terms with their condition and are quite comfortable with who they are! If you start down the transsexual road ie, hormones and surgery only to find out you're not...the damage is done and irreversible...

We all have our doubts, and no one can tell u who u r but u. Don't believe anyone who says otherwise! I'm a crossdresser, and I'm not just a chick who likes to wear guys clothing. I see myself as both genders. The easiest way to tell is if u still like to be a guy, but like being a woman too. If u don't like being a man at all then ur probably trans.

I once read a great explanation of the differences between transgender and transvestite.

Transgender is a gender condition - Uncomfortable with all aspects of your life with your birth gender.

Transvestite is a sexual condition - Sexually arousal to become or feel like a woman.

Best test .... Do you feel uncomfortable as a male when your working or having a cup of coffee? Of course a Transgender feels sexual arousal too, but it's scope is beyond the sexual phase.

Maybe you are transgendered, but at this point can't quite accept this so need to take steps to get to your comfort zone. I suggest this because this is what I had to do. It was my journey , and I'm coming around to become who I want to be..... ME.

Live your journey and enjoy it... It'll make a great autobiography.
