Hi, Martha. Typically speaking, you generally diagnose yourself. At least you tell the therapist about yourself (they may ask questions as well) and then they will give you a diagnosis.

One of the larger and most frequent complaints from the non-crowd is that we diagnose ourselves.

Hey Martha,

Girl...You know in the core of your soul if you are or not.

There is no question about it...If You Truly Are...You Will Know Period.

A good gender therapist can help you find her.

And assist in the necessary letter(s)to help you achieve your goals.

You don't need anyone to tell you that/if you are...You Know.

Good Luck and be honest with your doctor and don't be afraid.

They are there/here to help you,not fight you.

Welcome to the Playground.

Post and tell us about yourself.

Hugs Lady,

Angie

Martha, Sweetheart....

Angie is so right ....

If you are trans it's already in you .....one doesn't "turn" trans ....I think you are on the right track by going to the gender clinic and there you will find what you need.

A therapist is just a guide and they will let YOU say who and what you are, because you already know deep down...it just needs to surface....

You may be a cross dresser and may be happy that way forever...

Or, you my be Transsexual and you can take action on that after you realize that you are...

I'm a transsexual and it evaded me for years, but now that I understand (and am happy) I'm doing what I need to do to realize my true self....

You'll get there....the therapist will help you understand what you need to do.....

Good luck, Sweetie....

Love...

Donna Jean

Like the others say, you self-diagnosed, and that's not really good. I am going to be blunt or a devil's advocate here, but please please do not go to the clinic with the mindset that "I want to be a transsexual" or "I have to be a transsexual". You will either consciously, or subconsciously be biased during your session with the therapist, "trying" to change your answers or story to fit your bias thought of wanting to be a transsexual instead of the truth. That's what I've observed thus far, people going to therapy session with a fixed mind, why does one wants to go to therapy if they already made up their mind and cannot take any other possibilities?

Go with an open mind, explore the possibilities and answer the therapist truthfully. There's nothing wrong with being cross-dresser (I am going to make a wild guess here, but from your post, it seems like you somehow wants to get away from being a cross-dresser). Just please go with an open mind with the thought that, "I might be a transsexual, or I might be a cross-dresser". That way, you will truly learn more about yourself. As Donna Jean said, a therapist is only a guide, they don't read minds, be truthful and they can guide you to the right choices.

I hope you will find where you stand and pack up, you are going on a journey of self-exploration! :)

Just my 2 cents

Sherlyn nails it..

I remember being asked why I was there.. and then being asked.. and I can quote

"so how do you know you aren't just gay" .. errm.. I don't like gay men?

"how long have you had these thoughts" .. since my early teens they have been an increasing problem. I feel that I must do something about it because it's becoming impossible to live like this.

"you present very female already.. is this normal for you" .. yes.. I came on the train today on my own. These are my normal going outside clothes.(which they were.. no more than a little lippy and eyeliner and no wig.. just being me.. after all.. this is a doctor and a professional.. no point acting something I'm not.. he will see through that)

!I can see you are a good candidate.. how far through transitioning do you aim to go.. is having reassignment surgery on your list of priorities" .. it is something I have thought about for a long time but never done anything about until now.. If you consider me suitable then that is what I would like to do.

"I will put you into the RLT system, and write to your gp with instructions on the levels of medication.. we will need the results of a blood test, your gp will arrange that so you will need to go and see them within the next week.. We will write to them with the parameters we want checking.. and request the results back. as soon as we have those we will contact your gp and instruct them to start treatment"

woot!! .. easy, because I was open and honest.. a little nervous but only myself. Don't act.. they will see right through you.

My kitty has a litter box, which she uses on occasion.  But she prefers to make me get up to led her out. I could install a "cat door" but I'm afraid it would be used more by the possums and raccoons.  I have had possums in the house more than once - even without one.

Isn't it amazing, how animals have it all over us!   Good luck!

Good morning everyone,   It was our first night with our European Boxer and it went well. We got up at 05:30 let him out of the cage and went directly outside to give him a chance to go potty. It has been raining for two days and nights so the grass is soaked and nearly up to his belly. I don’t think he’s ever been outside while it’s raining or wet. I had my rain jacket on and a big brimmed hat as well as rain boots, he just stayed at my feet no matter where we went in the yard. I took him to the previous locations where out daughter’s dog had gone poo, but he just sat at my feet. Once inside and drying him off with a towel. He took a poo right there. So I gathered up his mess, and took him and his poo outside. So right now it’s dog one, trainer zero. Now that the coffee is brewed and I have a cup, he’s chewing on a toy.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Strange that I awoke from a dream dreaming about "being able to pee standing up!"   I know that sounds strange from someone AMAB, but intersex issues have always prevented that.    I wonder what made me dream like that? That was a first! 🤔

Morning y'all.    Nearly winter here, but it's a mild climate compared to what most of you experience. Even so, the best way to describe the mornings lately is...nipply! 😁

What I don’t like about the dealer working on my car, yes the put the paper mats on the floor, but why don’t they remove them when they bring my car to me?  And why do they always mess with my radio settings and my electronic dashboard settings?  I get them the way I want them and they seem to want them at factory default.  Leave things like you find them!  Why is that so difficult?  And don’t tell me it’s because the updated the computer! Every time!.  And no I haven’t figured out everything yet on the new car.  I can’t even get my key programmed to move my seat when I get in and out.  It’s supposed to move the seat, the mirrors, the steering wheel and several other things.  My old Eddie Bauer was easy to program but then it only programmed seat location and pedal location.   ok now that we’ve had our rousing knock on cars and dealer mechanics.  What else shall we talk about?  Bras?  Seems like an appropriate subject for most of us.  I have several different types. Two are famous store push-up padded to are more common everyday lightly padded ant one is a no padding no strap slip and the last one is a front close longline no padding.  Now that one supports the theory that I am now a B cup on my own. I’d prefer a C but then I’m not so sure my blouses would still fit without pulling.  Ah the problem we have as women.  And sizes are never ever the same.  Oh I’m a size ??  But men I need a large shirt and 36-30 pants and they always fit.   we can’t buy anything off the rack with confidence it will fit and I hate having to take it home to try one and return what doesn’t fit.   we’ll time to do my hair and leave.   love ya   Willow
