Questioning The Validy Of My Doctor

I don't know what to think, but I'd like somewhere to spout my worries.

Basically, I found a gender therapist off of this site. Everything went all well, after a few months she sent a letter to some doctor requesting to evaluate me physically for hormones.

I got in touch with the Doctor, after she had gotten the letter from my gender therapist. We e-mailed, rather frequently talking about the process and everything and looking at a time frame.

Then I saw her, she said I would need to get some lab work done. Blood tests come in 2 weeks later, with everything she wanted. I send her an E-Mail informing her and got no response. Prior to this she boasted checking and replying to her mail every day which was the case when me and her kept in touch before.

Then, after 3 days of waiting I sent her another E-Mail. Still no response. Next week comes, no response. I start calling in, the secretary answers and says "Okay, I'll inform the doctor that you called and she'll call you back by tomorrow." A few days go by she doesn't call.

I call back in, same response "Oh, she must have forgotten to call you. I'll remind her and she'll get back with you later tonight."

I ask then "Hey, can I just talk directly to her?" The response was "Oh, she's busy right now, don't worry she'll call you back."

I sent another E-Mail that night, from a different hotmail identifying who I am hoping that maybe there was some errors with my more commonly used E-Mail address.

Still no response, no call.

After waiting two days, I ask my Mom to drop by her office while I'm at school the blood results, maybe to get things done more personally. The secretary told my Mother they would call in for a script to the pharmacy. I wait a few days, no orders to be filled under my name. So I call them up this morning, and I get the secretary again. I asked her what was going on with the prescription. She said "Oh, the Doctor must have forgot to call in, I'll write her a note so she won't forget tonight. Don't worry, it'll be handled before we close tonight."

So, I wait and wait. I keep checking in with the pharmacy until an hour after the Doctor office had closed, nobody had ever called for me.

Now I'm not sure where this puts me, I'm wondering if this was all a scam of sorts setting me back the whole year of trying to get on the right track.

It's probably not the case, yet has anyone here on the site had issues getting a hold of a specialist like this? I'm new to the whole procedures and I understand doctors are busy people, yet should this amount of flakyness be expected?

Why didn't you ask for the script while you were at the doctors office. But don't confront the doctor that could cause more problems in the long run.

That is not very professional, my Endo calls me back personally within a few hours when i call his office, i do not think it is a scam but for some reason she is avoiding you,.

She is a transsexual herself, post op from what she says.

Perhaps that has something to do with it? Or maybe her secretary is botching things up? I don't want to point fingers at anyone, I'm just confused at the process and feel so close and like the rug is slipping from underneath me.

My Mother said that when she went to the Doctor, she asked the secretary if she could wait to get the script filled. The secretary assured her not to worry, that it'd all be taken care of by the end of the day.

If you've kept a record or log of when you have called and e-mailed, I would make a one page summary of

all of your attempts at getting service.

Then I would take it there, hand it to the secretary, and tell her that you are not satisfied with the quality

of their service and expect to see improvement, as well as an apology. If the doctor is part of a medical

group, they should have a patient ombudsperson. You can tell the secretary that you will discuss it with

that official unless you get better service starting immediately.

If none of that works, I would find another doctor, because this one has some serious issues.

Docs can be strange peoples,

Kind of sounds like the doc is looking at you as a trouble patient.

One who hounds them constantly.I know a few ladies that fit that

catagory.I would do as has been suggested, and have had to do

myself.Walk in,or your mother do so,and stand at the counter

until the prescription is in hand.A gender docs office is a very

busy place. You may have gotten lost in the shuffle. And though

the doctor may treat transsexuals,we aren't their only clients.

Frustration at wanting to start and being put on hold,is driving

these feelings.Be patient and don't get upset.Being nice,having

a good attitude, and approaching the office with dignity, will get you

what you are seeking.

You could go to the desk with your concerns, hand over a paper of how many times you tried to contact her. Maybe say "why am I being treated so poorly now? Everything was going well then suddenly the doctor has stop contacting me. It would make more sense if I was told why this was happening then being left in the dark".

Okay, I'm now goig to reveal a little more about myself. I am a certified public accountant with a concentration in small medical practices. If there is anything I've learned, it is that professionals hate to admit mistakes and will do strange things to cover themselves. To me, this sounds like your endo didn't follow through with standards of care for the patient. She may have failed to submit the blood work and lied to you, the blood work may have been lost in-house by staff and didn't want the appearance of incompetency, any number of reasons. By not responding, she may be pushing you to leave, shifting the problems onto you.

My suggestion is find another endo that has experience in transgender medicine. Let the new endo know your problems with the previous endo and have the endo request the file/paperwork from the deficient endo. As long as you have the paperwork from the old endo showing the work performed, if the new endo does not receive everything you were billed for, you have cause to report the old endo to the state licensing board for fraud. Chances are, you are not the first patient to be treated this way and if you don't report her, you won't be the last.

This is just my professional opinion and you may accept it or not.

Since the Therapist is the one that recommended her, maybe going back to the therapist to see if there may be a problem with this doctor and transgendered patients. The Therapist may be able to contact the doctor directly and assist you with getting results. I know that my therapist did this for me.

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!

Things hit the fan today. I was reminded that "this is not a gender fluid establishment."   I had changed my preferred name and gender at the hospital on their app. My x-ray report came in with my preferred name and gender. It was not appreciated by the centre. 😬

I'm not a nutritionist but I've gone on bulking diets in the past so I can suggest a couple things to try. Foremost, food-prep stuff that you like to eat. Any 'real food' that usually sounds good to you. That way, you don't have the time-sink or hassle of cooking for every meal. You're more likely to eat if stuff if it's convenient and mostly ready. For example, I'll spend an hour or so one evening prepping burrito ingredients that will last me the next 3 nights. Then it's just a matter of microwaving the beef/beans and throwing them into a tortilla; takes 5 min.   If you need food 'on the go' often, consider prepping smoothies in advance pre-separated out into individual containers. I personally like low-no fat yogurt blended with fruit and, here's the weird part, those water flavor drops. They add sweetness without dumping in excess sugar. Insulated containers will keep them reasonably fresh non-refridgerated all day so they can even be tossed into a backpack.    Hope of those sparked some ideas!

I did get a sorry from the mechanic, saying it was all on him. The boss just said I just went by what I was shown. I didn't look at the paper work. I thought maybe you should before jumping down someones throat.   I am still in the market. Just waiting to find the right one.   Hugs, Kymmie
