My School Blocked Laura's Playground :(

OK i debated saying anything, but if you're going to JUST access Laura's then do this... do a google for something called a Proxy Server/Site.. they can (depending on how good you system admin is) get around those blocks. Again, google Proxy site or proxy server (usually site), there will more than likely be a LOT, and it may be a bit of trial and error to find one that will work, but when i was in college, they really tightened the reigns (sys admin was all over blocking stuff) and i STILL found a proxy that would get past ALL of his blocks. Use at your own risk-if the school catalouges what you visit they may catch you, but more than likely your sys admin is too busy to worry about all that.

My college blocks everything too. They treat us like babies. Its really annoying. We have more things blocked then my highschool did.

its words like transsexual, transgender that get us caught on the content filters. There is no way to avoid it, unless you can work with the people who run the filter (The Computer services or IT department) and convince them this is a support site not a porn site

Just for those not familiar with English counties, there's one called 'Sussex' in the south. Pretty big too, it would make a popular Google search if, say, there were a bunch of secondary school kids who were searching for University options and happened to be interested in Sussex University.

But no! That's a NAUGHTY search. Naughty. It has the S word as the last syllable! How dare we. And how dare we want to type that word in for any kind of educational matirial on the actual subject matter.

Personally I think our countries censorship laws are both crazy and stupid. Don't know about everybody else, wherever you are in the world.

there in lies the major problem with searching with in words for blocked content. It will pick up all manner of words that are not bad words and have no reason to be blocked and nix them because of one sylable
