Over The Weekend

Whew! What a weekend. I ended up coming out to two sales clerks and my friend over the weekend. I went to CVS pharmacy on Friday to purchase some makeup supplies, since I am very limited in sight I asked for help from one of the sales clerks, they were first going to place me with a guy, I said to myself, "please choose a woman", they did. :-) I gave her my list and I could tell she had a puzzled voice so I just told her I am transgender and the products were for me. She had no problem with it. :-). Saturday I went to a theatrical supply store that sold Ben Nye products, needed a beard shadow concealer and some makeup brushes. Went into the crowded store and oh my gosh, they had all kinds of costumes, makeup, wigs, everything you ever wanted. I went up the counter and waited for someone to help me. I nice sales lady approached me and asked if I needed help, I told her yes and what I was looking for. She was able to find the products and asked me if I was in a theatrical play or something. Told her no but that I am transgender. She smiled and was very accepting of me, I think some of the other patrons heard me as well and they did not seem to mind either. :-) The sales woman asked me my name and I told her it was Susan. She then introduced me to the wig specialist in the store if I ever wanted to buy a wig in the future. It was a very uplifting experience. I was in my male clothes.

Yesterday I came out to my one other friend, was not sure how he would take it but found out that he is very accepting as well. He said that he will always be my friend. There is one other friend I will be coming out to. She is a gg friend of mine that I have lost contact with so it may take some time to get aquaited again. I can really use a gg friend that will go clothes shopping with me and give me some makeup tips and just girl tips in general. She is an open minded girl so I do not see any problem in her accepting my gender choice.

Susan, I'm so happy for you that you met such nice salespeople. It makes shopping so much

more enjoyable. It's hard to find anyone in sales who is even pleasant, much less supportive

and warm.

Your friend too is very special to be so understanding. You are a lucky girl, Susan.

I hope things always work out so well for you. I love your attitude and willingess to

trust others. Its a rare gift.
