Has anyone here tried Second Life, or does anyone here play it now? I just joined and I'm hoping it's not too heavy on the bandwidth (I have 200MB a day)

I would like to make some friends on there! I'm Naomi Horchester on there! Looking forward to meeting up.

(P.S. apparently, second life has been rumored as a place for people to have affairs / relationships away from their familys. I'm not there for that. Jut letting you all know Kuz I'm married. )

Hi Naomi,

I created a character there, made the jump over that chasm, got to some meeting area, and decided that I just didn't want to take the time to learn all the controls and deal with all the characters that one can meet. It looks like for some, it can be fun, but it's not for me. I still get come-ons from various groups, though. I do think there is a least one member here that is a little involved. Hope if works out for you!

I started it, I got stuck in a run down part of town on the starter island, i got beaten up by a tramp and a giant armadillo I never went back. Im not even joking

I played agesss ago now on the young people's version as a furry. It was fun but at the time my laptop wasn't really up to running it and it didn't respond very well. The thing that I got annoyed enough with not to bother anymore was the neverending stream of required updates (don't know whether that's different now). It was fun while it lasted though! (Even though I had no clue what I was doing most of the time... )

I just downloaded it last night- my friend plays it and wanted to show me around- but I can't even start the dang thing. It keeps getting stuck on "initializing VFS" when it's starting up and then crashes. ><!!!

Anyone had that problem and know a fix for it?

Sounds like a possible connection issue. Is there a firewall blocking it maybe, or an overactive router?

You need to be sure that you have your current drivers, I have found that to be a Major issue for most people. I am running it just great.
