A year ago, I weighed 195 pounds. I've always wanted nothing more than to be a slender, lithe gal and just remove that stupid overhanging gut, so I really committed to trying to lose it. I eat only 1300ish calories a day, do a manual labour job for 8 hours a day, cut out all condiments, non-water/juice drinks, switched to whole-grain foods, no desserts, everything I could think of. Exercise I limit to 70-100 situps a day - I want be slender, not at all muscular, so I didn't want to do too much more exercise other than what I burned off naturally at work.

Today my weight ranges from 125-130 pounds. I'm about 5'8" and most charts I see online say that male-born people that height should be 140 pounds, so I'm now apparently underweight. That SOUNDS great and all but my gut STILL hangs out over the waist of my pants and my hindquarters still are pudgy... I just want a flat, slender tummy-torso... I don't want to lose any more weight; the diet worked fine for me while I still had stuff to burn off, but now I feel so exhausted and hungry all the time while at work and it's really getting to me. Some days lately I feel faint, and I'm having trouble lifting the load I use to be able to with no problems. When will my stomache stop being fat? ._. Do I have to go down to 110-15-ish to have a slender girl build? Or even lower?

No, I don't think so but I do know that the stomach area is where men tend to store fat - once on hormones that will change and the sit ups alone will help because new fat will settle elsewhere.

There is a bit of debate about whether old fat deposits move or not - I will get back to you with my results - I'm just starting into month 3 and I have a rather severe case of Dunlap's Disease - my stomach Dunlaps over my belt!

Love ya,

Sally

"once on hormones that will change and the sit ups alone will help because new fat will settle elsewhere."

I really, really hope so... but right now, I don't have any idea when or if I'll be able to get hormones... Can't find anywhere that'll prescribe them to me and I'm not financially stable enough to move somewhere more populated and experienced with transsexuals. Even though I want hormones so badly, I'm looking into trying to reach my ideal body without HRT as a last-resort backup plan.

Good luck, Sally! I hope it works out for you! And thanks for the reply :3

Hi Sweetie,

I think your weight is fine and good for the type of job you're doing. If you lose more weight, it may not be good for your health and your ability to work. I'm nearly the same build as you as I'm 5'7" and weight around 135lb, 125lb probably is my minimum weight.

Its true that male store body fat around the waist area vs female store fat in thigh and bottom. However, get a flat and slim tummy is not impossible for male. For years I've been trying to do situps even before I start transition, it works to certain extend only cause it only train my superficial muscles. Couple years ago I discovered pilates from my friends. It works much better than just situps because it works more the deep core muscles which help to tone up the body shape. You may give it a shot to see if that works, try a class in the gym or got a dvd to try it yourself.

Oh, thanks a lot Erikka! =) I looked at a youtube routine of that and I'll give that a try for a bit, hopefully it'll work for me too!

Wow, you must be so dedicated to keep up exercising for years too.. I haven't even managed a full year and it's already so demoralizing for me and I miss being lazy... xD;;

Interesting......

Honey...

I'm 5-7" to 5'8" and I'm at 138-145......

My belly is quite flat and my rib cage it out further out than that...

I don't do anything special except my diet....LOTS of fruits and veggies (fresh) small portions of everything else....

I don't really deny myself anything...I'll have a cookie or some chips on ocassion...just not all of the time...

I really don't have a good answer after reading all of the things that you've done so far....

The HRT (9 months) has added lbs. onto me, but it's coming onto all of the right places!

Good luck, Honey....

Hope you like lots of lotion, maybe an ocean of it, its effects on skin, hair and eyes (I cant keep a pair of goggles on) are the reasons I dont swim... I miss the lake at my parent's cabin

Quick note here.....

We have a member here on the site (won't mention names) who swims in a pool everyday for exercise and weight loss....

Her hair is now bleached blond from the chlorine...

That stuff is hard on you all over!

well i guess you could use a bathing cap for hair protection, goggles (if they stay on) for the eyes and a full wet suite for most of the skin.. that just leaves the face, hands and feet(well the suit also has a hood so no need for the cap)

I have found some people correlate TG = child predator ... just as some have correlated homosexual = child predator...    I am baffled by the TG = unsafe connection ... my wife tends to think this way, that this is all about sexual deviancy ... I try to ask how my preference for wearing frilly socks with embroidered flowers and a comfortable camisole under my lavender T-shirts is sexually deviant (or sexual anything) but I don't get very far...

Not sure.  The perp is a minor.  The problem here is NOT transgender, the problem here is incompetent and criminal administration.  See https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/family-of-loudoun-co-student-sexually-assaulted-ineptitude-of-all-involved-is-staggering/3231725/ It is more than annoying that people think the problem here is TG and that other people think the solution is some stupid statewide law.  Like an appendectomy to deal with an ingrown toe nail.    Since Loudon, I recall a boy was asked not to use the girl's restroom at a high school by one of the girls.  He, overwhelming her with height and weight,  assaulted her, claiming he had a right to be there.   Later I think eight girls beat him severely in another girl's restroom.  Again the problem is not transgender, the problem is assaults in restrooms and common courtesy.  TG is used as a smokescreen and it seems to paralyze thought among administrators who do not want to do anything to provoke controversy.

Time to get with your Primary Care doctor and be referred to a neurologist or an orthopedist.  It could be many things, too many for any of us here to guess at.

Other than the Boy Scout motto, oath, and law. I use two:   When asked how I'm doing? In all honesty I reply. I would have to make something up to complain. If asked to explain further: I reply. I know someone is having a tougher time than I am, and I pray God blesses them.   I also recite this quote that I have tagged in my signature: Courage, doesn't always roar. Sometimes it's the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."-Unknown    Saying these things daily keep me motivated.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

If this goes on, I am conceding the real possibility of being stopped in WM or somewhere by a concerned citizen who tells me, "Lady, God made you female.  I don't think you should be trying to look like a man. You need to return to your true gender and be comfortable living your life out as a woman."   Begin odd and awkward conversation.  I have been thinking about this this morning.

There are many MAGA GOP types who are not transphobes, of course. Some MAGA GOP types are transgender.

I'm hoping to read the next section today.  Many of the reforms they are calling for are good, such as expediting the military procurement process, and have nothing to do with transgender issues.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either
