:( Just a quick question........

I was wondering if anyone knew the difficulties faced by stopping hormones after 7 years on them, what should someone expect?? This is a hard subject for me and has been plauging my mind for some time now.

WOW!

That's a toughie!

But, I'll tell you what....

If you are administered HRT through a doctor. I would phone them and simply ask....

If, not...some Google searches might turn up some help...

But, I have to assume that there would be some effects of quitting after that amount of time...

Please don't stop taking them without getting an answer...

I know that even here in the states a person that was on HRT for a long time went to jail and successfully petitioned to remain on HRT for health reasons and was granted them..

Good luck, Baby...

"Hello!

Your question is outside my ability to answer, but I was really wondering why you'd want to quit.

Thanks, Kat "

Hi Kat.

To answer your question as openly as I can what I can say is that I have virtually given up hope of any kind of surgery. I have been fighting to have an Orchidectomy for the last 3 and a half years still with no success, Im plaugued with body hair that just wonr subside, But the biggest factor is that I am only on a very limited income due to health reasons and have lost the will to fight any more. I dont have the money to even see a shrink to get my approval letters and dont even have a cousellor any longer as I just cannot afford it.

Thank you for your reply sweety, IM due to see my Dr in twio days so will have a talk to him about this.

While I'm no doctor, logically seven years is a long time to be on anything. Your body may not like your decision. For one thing, even though you still have your testicles, if you've been taking anti-androgens and estrogen, they probably aren't functioning properly anymore. Your body wants to have hormonal balance if at all possible. Going off HRT may cause an imbalance that your little fellas down below can't fix.

Just my two cents. Non-redeemable though.

Hi hun,

The other replies are far more informed than I could opine. But you know what bothers me ???, a citizen (or any person) of a

country/ any country should be given medical help free of charge if needed. I get so angry when I read stuff like yours. I mean ,

what the hell is wrong with the powers that be???. Are they told by their electorate not to help folk like us ??? NO, THEY ARE NOT !!!

When we see how much money is wasted by governments around the world ( Im Irish, our wasters are real pro"s) on bureaucracy

etc it just annoy"s me so.Really not being funny here but my friends at home tell me my tough attitude is "pre hrt" and will alter

accordingly . I belong to a peer group at home , I wont mention its name in case its inappropriate but, we , through our psychiatric

docs have access to most of what we need. It takes a while , anything but perfect, but better than nothing. I would love to see a

day when the medical fraternity around the World ACTUALLY listens to us when we talk about our pain, our isolation, all we are

asking for is a "leg up", then we resume our place in society as contributors ....where the hell"s the problem there . I know this

is not a great help hun , I wish I could give more than "venting" , but I cant help my anger. I hope things improve for you .

You know posting helps as we are not alone when we talk ...24/7 here ,so keep talking, someone will come up with a plan for you.

Luv, viv.

Good morning   weii I’ve read some good news here this morning    Yes the ancient Roman symbol was used on some coins. The Mercury dime come to mind. It was showing our fighting might.  Arrows and a fighting axe.  I realize few people recall the Mercury dime.  My 6th grade swore there was no such thing so I brought him one.  He had promised a dollar if I could prove it which I did. Then he tried to Welch on the bet. The entire class got on him and he had to give me the dollar.  Ah, the little things we still remember from over 60 years ago.  Like today as a i was cutting a banana for my cereal I recalled my grandfather doing the same for me about 70+ years ago.   well instead of a 9 hour day I have an 8 hour day scheduled then there is that stay a little longer to do X.

Welcome to the forums, M.A. Duh . . . more questions came up for me,too--but I'm finding they don't have to be solved all at once. One thing at a time as I ask for help works for me. Keep coming back.  —Davie

Good news is that I have nothing serious going on. The blood was coming from internal hemorrhoids, and the doctor says it's from the "typical American diet." Too much fat and carbs but not enough plant based fiber. A few other things were noted and biopsies on them for safety sake.    Hospital visit was grand with "most" of the staff addressing me as female. I did have "bra talk" with one of the CNA's. Even my discharged papers use my preferred name on them (Birdie).   So basically, adding more fiber to my diet will eliminate my internal hemorrhoids as well as lower my risk for cancer.
