New Perspective At The Mall

Guest Alissa

Recommended Posts

I took a walk through the mall today with my son, and what I noticed is how

much different it looks to me and what a big place it has become since I had to courage

to go out and shop for outfits.

Only last week when I had some time to myself, did I build up the courage to venture into

a Bealls Outlet that was closing down, to look for something to wear.

I bought a pair of Capri pants and a nice pair of slacks, and my first pair of heels.

So as I was walking throught the mall, I caught myself glancing at Forever 21, and

a long list of womens clothing stores with beautiful outfits in the windows!

Now I understand how my x wife spent so much time there, there was so much I wanted!

And the shoe stores were particularly hard to go past without gawking.

My son knows nothing of this, and I don't think he ever will, so I was as discrete as possible

when I was interestred in an outfit or a pair of shoes I saw. There are SO many choices in ladies

fashion, if I had the time off and was adept enough to dress to pass, I could be in the mall an entire

day easily, trying things on and seeing if I could get stimulus money for a clothing alowance.

For the time being, I'm left discretely scanning the racks at the local thrift stores and grabbing an

item or 2 that look nice and hoping they fit when I get them home.

Let's hear it for the CD life, the world is so much bigger now that I don't have to stay only

on one half.

I'm posting a pic of a pair of MUST HAVE boots that I saw...oh how I hope I can go back

there alone so I can buy them! Center of the pic, 4 inch heels at least with silver decoration.

MMmmmmmmmmm.

Hi Alissa

I know exactly what you mean.

I always said that you could carry in a years worth of mens clothing catalogues, but you would need a fork lift to move a years worth of womens catalogues. The variety is amazing, so many different looks and the women have free run of the mens clothing also because men don't really care. You have to watch it though, your bank account will begin to hate you if you have too much fun. ;)

BTW X-mas is comming up, I like the knee highs-size 11. What do you think? :P

I totally understand, though I'm still a bit shy about going in womens clothing stores. I stop and look at jewellery often though. There's one necklace I can't stop thinking about. It has leaves on it made from different colors of gold. I'll have to see if I can find a picture of it......

Hmmm, I guess this is it, but for some reason it doesn't look quite the same as it does in-store. Can't put my finger on exactly what is different though.

But yeah, isn't it gorgeous??

I know what you mean about far greater choice for female clothing compared to that for men. Just one week ago, a brand new (& very big) shopping mall opened up in my home city. When looking through one of the larger clothing stores with a friend, it was impossible not to notice that there was vast store space for femme attire, and an almost comically tiny area for men's clothing. As I'm sure we all know however, this is the normal way of things in shops these days, so its very liberating to be shopping for femme stuff and suddenly have all this wonderful variety compared to the very boring male clothing.

Oh yes hun, the mall doubled in size! As long as I'm night with my dad that is. I can spend sooo many hours looking for clothes. I think I even spend more time than my mom!

Yes, women's clothing is so varied and colorful and stylish, especially compared with men's.

I can spend an hour just looking through one catalog and imagining what each outfit would look like on me.

And then all the accesories, and shoes, and costume jewely, and, and .......

Oh my! What I've missed over the years.

Gee, if I had been free to be Carolyn when I was in my twenties, I could have worn all those lovely mini skirts! They would have fit me back

then too. (sigh!).

Ah, well, I kinda like the long skirts these days anyway. :)

Have fun at the mall, Alissa, and watch that wallet (oops, purse!).

Being admitted into the hospital after a long ER visit. I started passing lots of blood and they are keeping me for observation.    Nurse came in to see about a condom catheter, that of course doesn't work on me. 🤣   She said, "I guess we will use incontinence supplies on you."

Yeah.  I think this is what it is about.  Since they are not transgender, nobody else could possibly be either.  I'm not sure that a cisgender person can understand being transgender.  But that hardly means that a transgender person's experience is not real - just because it is not theirs. Why is a transgendered person's experience not valid, while a cisgendered person's is?  Why should it be the cisgendered person that decides? Nobody is forcing a cis person to transition.  What I do for myself is my own business.

I've been thinking it is a matter of belief.  They simply do not believe someone can validly be transgender and should not be allowed to practice their beliefs, but should be forced to practice their belief, that is, that there is no such thing as transgender and it is all mental illness/sin/hormonal imbalance.

I am really kind of sick of everybody who is not transgender deciding on what we need and do not need in the way of procedures. They act like all of this is play acting, and we can just apply cosmetics to our entire body. It might be refreshing if someone asked us directly what services we need in order to transition. I could say more as I am frustrated, but I do not want to violate the TOS.

Good luck on selling your wife on the idea of a different car. This could be tougher than negotiating with a dealership.   My wife agreed to my taking profit out of the company to buy a used truck once we found out the 2014 F-250 I currently had with 267,244 miles on it was needing new torque converter solenoids and the DEF system is chocking up. We bought a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, Duramax 4X4, with 163,000 miles. LTZ Off Road package, power mirrors, chrome step boards, rear camera, exhaust brake, and air lift bags on the rear suspension. It belonged to a friend of mine who also owned a mobile training business.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

At the other end and in our favor is Julia Serano's analysis of the Cass Report Fiasco   https://juliaserano.medium.com/the-cass-review-wpath-files-and-the-perpetual-debate-over-gender-affirming-care-8f56d0c4d0c6   Serano is a Trans Woman and a molecular biologist herself, guess whose evaluation I honor.

That's great @MaeBe hopefully the company will offer your wife a moving package with the new job position. That's how I was transferred from the St. Louis Metro area to the Indianapolis Metro area. The company covered all the moving expenses, as well as a three week stay in an extended living hotel while we chose an area to build our current home.   Good Luck and make it a happy adventure.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
