So since I've got a pretty bad cold, I decided to stay home and since I was by myself without my parents or sister there for a good 5 hours (actually once I woke up it was more like 3) I decided I had an oppurtunity to put some make up on. It was worth all of the hacking to be able to express myself (well somewhat... when you're sick you can only express yourself so much). Just wanted to share that with you.

Wonderful Natalie!

Yes it is so comforting just be able to relax and be ourselves.

I know that you had fun, recovering from a cold or not.(smile)

Good for you, Natalie. I'm sorry that you're not feeling too great, but I agree that one has to take the opportunities when they

present themselves. I'm glad you had fun, and I hope you get many more such opportunities. I just hope you don't need to be

sick to find them. ;)

Hi Natalie,

So sorry your feeling ill, but at least not ill enough to not take advantage of the free time. One thing I've discovered over time, and with experience, is that girls, (moms, sisters, wives) have a major sixth sense awareness about clothes and makeup raids. They can detect an inch difference in position and if it is turned even slightly. Oh well, a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do. On the makeup, any chance of getting your own stash?

Be careful, and maybe the next time you won't be ill. Even more fun. :D

Women do seem to just know when their makeup has been raided. In my house, it is about a daily thing. There is myself, my roommate who is my age and her 14 and 8 year old daughters. I am out to everyone and have my own makeup, however the youngest one likes to raid everyone's and it is annoying. Things are not put back where we leave them and sometimes come up missing. Its not a real big deal, but it is an annoyance. Anyway, yes we all know when someone else has been in our stuff.

Looking back to my adolescent years, I am sure my mother and sister knew I raided their stuff, but neither of them said anything until years later. So if your not ready to be outed about it, you should really find your own stash. That can provide ts own risks though especially if you dont have much privacy to your room.

Anyway, have fun exploring yourself.

Oh yeah.. touch my lippy and die.. hahaha.. we do know because we can put it on in the dark so we know exactly where everything is.. to the millimetre. Why does the translucent powder and blush go on after everything else?... see that fine layer of dust over everything?.. move something out of sequence just slightly.

Get well soon :)

Hehe, now I understand why my wife started hiding her make-ups. The nail paint and polish is always at a different place. She hid the eye make-up set too. It took me 15 minutes to find it ;)

Thanks for the advice. LUCKILY, I could only find my mother's, which my sister has been known to take (and has denied doing so, even when she HAS taken it..

Hi Natalie Alexis,

I am waiting for a Trans friend to help me with makeup, that is , I was. Your post has given

me the kick in the butt I needed to " get with the program". First thing in the am Im gonna get my chores

done , then a really close shave, ugh, ( cant wait for the day /hair free face) and then get working on my

makeup , as in practice, practice, and yes, more. Thanks for that Natalie Alexis, hope yours went well.

Luv, Viv. :)

You've got more ambition than I. I must be a fright, I don't have the energy or desire to do anything beauty related when I'm sick. I haven't done my hair in a week lol.

Aww, thanks! It makes me feel good that I helped someone! :) I hate shaving too (sooo much of a chore) that there are days I just forget it (meaning school days where I just don't look in the mirror that day), so I know how you feel about the facial hairlessness. My only advice I can offer you at this point is: 1) don't pay too much attention to how it turns out at first. This was my 5th time doing it and it looked poorly done to be nice to myself. Just focus on how nice it feels to do it and to know that you're wearing it. And 2) remember, less is more! You don't want people to get the wrong impression. You want the cute guys (or girls if that's your preference) to focus on your face when you're ready to go full time, not the makeup on the face. ;) And finally 3) have fun with it (which is why tip #1 is important)

Hope it goes well for you Viv!

Normally I wouldn't have done it either, but as a teenager living at home and having parents that would kick me out in January the second I turn 18 if they found out, I take advantage of every chance I get. I really can't wait until college when I have more freedom.

lol, I'd like to. I'd LIKE to get "painted up" enough to put a picture up here, but I don't have enough makeup to feel confident doing that :P Maybe with christmas coming...who knows. ^_^

Same here.  My mind is a jumbled mess.  I'm no great philosopher, nor particularly educated.  Don't open my brain's closet, as all the junk might come tumbling out.

Its been a long day.  I had a good trip with my husband, kind of sorry I had to come home.  I mean, I love my partners, but I feel overwhelmed by the chaos at times.  It was nice being able to just drive and talk for two days, and not feel rushed at meals.  Stopped at a buffet off I-40 in Oklahoma, and I was able to nibble comfortably for two hours!  And taking a shower in a place where I don't have to bother hanging up the towels for later   Its all about the little things....

Hi @AmandaJoy Welcome, and nice to meet you! Congratulations on your Self-Affirmation!  As you've already discovered you're in great company here on this Forum.  It took me 60+ years also.   I understand your thrill and desire to proceed full-steam-ahead but that you've already realized to meter your Journey.  So, I will just end with what I tell most new Members when they arrive ... Hey @KayC I need another tutorial session on this place with you.  Maybe we can talk on Discord or the phone and I can share my screen and do a few messages while Asking you some questions about how this place is organized. How are you doing in the real world?? ... "real world" ???  What is this "real world" of which you speak?
    • Michelle_S
@VickySGV Ha!  Finally figured THAT out!  Though I hate to confess just how long it took me to figure out WHERE to begin typing that "@" sign.  (So I just won't confess it!  ... giggles) I am not sure how private this message to you is ... for example I was going to make a guess about your location (you say near a major earthquake fault) and while there are many places in CA which fit that description, I live near one as well. But I am not sure if being asked that in a public forum is something you want, and I don't know if I am talking publicly or privately right now.  (So, obviously, till I learn what is what, I treat EVERYTHING as public). I think Kay might have already told me about the "@" sign but I forgot ... Guess I have blonde roots ... (I'm actually a Brunette ... Grey but the box keeps me a brunette ... still the number of mistakes I make and how slow I am with learning things constantly reminds me that I must be blonde on the inside!!  ... giggles)

@KymmieL do they have you on anti depressants?  Are they certain they are the right ones for you?  Has a psychiatrist been involved?  My physician first put me on an anti depressant and when things got worse for me he added one that was the initial cause of my cancer.  My therapist recommended I had a different need changed things. My psychiatrist agreed with the particular underlying condition and the choice of medications.   everyone is different but if one medication isn’t working there are many different types and different underlying conditions that require different treatments.  No meds mentioned because what didn’t work and what did all depends on your case, not mine.   Willow

To me loving myself means having the courage to live the way I want and to be me.     I hardly ever really like how I look but I feel good knowing I am trying to be the best version of myself that I can be. It is definitely a struggle sometimes though.  💗Cynthia

I had a five hour road trip today.  I’m trying to grow my hair out so I just pushed it back with a pink hair band, lipstick and gloss, no makeup.    White spaghetti strap top, short black skirt, white sandals with pink toenails!  A couple of rings and bracelets, necklace and hoop earrings.   I felt like a hot mess but it’s my favorite way to travel!

Glad you had a good day, @Willow Mine on the other hand sucked. I have been screwing up again, I even got written up. I may have to educate them on major depression and disability. not that it will work.    OH, well. May be another job I lost because of me. Yes, my depression is about down at the magma level   Kym

This bag is really working out for me.  I had worn out the back on my yin-yang bag so I picked this one up.  It wasn't long before I cut off the flap on it and braided a hemp strap for it.  The zipper is the best feature.  I can spin the bag around and I'm not afraid of losing anything.  I've taught myself to keep all the essential things in it and nothing more.  Here is what made the cut:   Notepad Sharpie Ballpoint Pen Teaspoon Glasses Phone (most of the time) Wired Headphones and/or Bluetooth Carmex and/or Lipstick Flash Drive Current Braiding Project Wallet Hair Clip   And on my keys I have my one inch Swiss Army Knife with scissors and a bottle opener that I like using with mason jar lids.   I don't miss pockets at all now.  The bag is fun and practical.  I can set it on the ground to get everything off my body.  If I need something, I'm looking for a fairly large object.  I always have something to work on with the braiding project.
