Gah! It's been one month now on HRT, and my breasts hurt sooo much.

Just the slightest tap hurts, my female friends understand and are empathetic... but my male friends, I tried hiding it from them. Not the transitioning, just the pain. Some guy hugged me, and I subconciously made a jump in pain. Ever since I've gotten no ends of spontaneous slaps to the chest. >.<

But eh, yeah... just thought you guys might find that funny in an innocent "Hehe" sort of way.

No offense taken, Hon.

I know its not funny when it happens, but think of the pain as a sign of....progress! Might make it a little easier to bear.

You have my sympathy on that Sahpiria, not on HRT yet but can imagine what it is like. Maybe next time one of the guys at your work wants to give you a "spontaneous slaps to the chest" thinking it is funny you should offer to give him a slap or kick down below to show how it feels in return (just a nice suggestion  ), wonder if they would want to continue then.

Saphiria.................

Baby....I TOTALLY sympathize with you having been on HRT 10 months....

On the good side ...the pain is affirming and a constant reminder that something is going on there!

Bad side....I pulled a sticking file cabinet drawer into my chest and my eyes rolled back in my head and started leaking...I saw stars and little birdies!

But at least we know that things are happening!

LOVE & HUGGS!

Get used to having a pain in the breasts Saphiria, grin.

As you progress through your transition, the pain will come and go.

It is when the girls quit hurting we tend to start worrying as the breast

take a pause in their growth.I do remember the budding pain, and how

much they ached all the time, not to mention if you bumped them(ouch)

Welcome to your womanhood young woman.

Hugs,

Angie

wow, I feel sorta lucky now - I felt almost nothing, and even when I ran into something, it was more uncomfortable than agonizingly painful. On the other hand, I had to wait for a few months before I saw any changes, and without the pain there telling me that anything was happening, I got a little anxious (I wanted to have an acceptable chest before going off to college - in the end, I did)

I bump it into EVERYTHING, the other day I opened my door, it bounced off the wall and smacked me there. I keep rolling of on them onto books during the night (My bed is so cluttered) I hold my books in my hand, and I keep slapping them against my chest. I never realized just how much my chest makes contact with things.

Ah, in Tai Chi yesterday the Teacher/Master/Sensei whatever you call the Instructer demonstrated a move on me, he told me to throw a punch so he did this thing where he grabs it, turns, pulls my arm over his shoulder, then uses his shoulder to ram me in the chest. It was so unexpected to say the least.

Uh... yeah, sorry, it just feels nice having a place to talk about these things. :/

I'm almost three weeks in and today the uncomfortableness has just started. I've read a lot about the pain and have been waiting for something and, lo and behold, there it is. Ouch. I have yet to tell my wife, but I'm sure she'll find ways to torture me. So now the slow journey from moobs to boobs begins :D

I don't find it funny. Your breast are growing and they really don't need people slapping them. Not sure how exactly I woud deal with it, but I would put an end to it.

Heck Yes,

They hurt all the time anyway, the last thing you need is for somebody to make contact

with them in a hurtful way.

Girls, this is a potentially serious injury. Boys rough house, girls don't and for good reason. Breasts are delicate and sensitive and should be treated with respect, not only by ourselves, but by others.

Thought about another way, those boys are really assaulting a female. If they did that to a natal girl, they could be arrested. It's time to have a real talk with these boys and stop being around them if you're serious about your journey, your body and your future health. They can't do that to a natal girl and they can't do that to you.

Ah, I am the lucky one. When I got home and told her of my newest development, she copped a feel, told me that they were feeling firmer. I winced and she immediately brought me a few ibuprofen and gave me a kiss.

I think I'm in love all over again :D

I know it's frustrating to hear, but you have to be patient. 5 weeks is nothing. It can take years to grow facial hair. Even then, you may be unlucky and not get much. Everyone's body reacts differently to T. You just have to be patient and let T do it's thing.

I've been on T for 6yrs now, my levels are good. But I still don't pass very well, I look very feminine. I have top surgery already.   I can't tell if it's bad luck/genetics or if there is some reason why T might not "work" on me. The only thing it has done well is lower my voice. Everything else, not so much. I have a bit more muscle, and a tiny bit of chin scruff. That's it.   Is there any medical reason why T might not have much of an effect? I asked my PA and they didn't know.

Thank you for the welcome. :)   As an adult I don't actually get much (if any) hate directed at me. As a kid/teen I got discriminated against and ostracized. And online is crazy with hatred. But in real life I just keep to myself and that tends to make others not bother you. I think I get a double take from someone every so often, but I don't get stared at or anything. I do get called ma'am sometimes which sucks and is embarrassing.    I like the positive self-talk, saying that you are trans, you shouldn't have the same "expectations" as if you were cis. Some trans people are lucky, some of us are not. I'm not. The only thing I got lucky with is my voice. Everything else, nope.   I will try and remind myself that I'm just trying to live my life, I didn't choose to be born this way, I don't need to be embarrassed of myself in every situation.

A wonderful proclamation that is going to have fur and feathers flying in many locations.  It actually saddens me that we are such a divisive wedge in peoples political leanings and this proclamation will drive that wedge deeper until we can heal those divisions.

All of this is very validating for me to read, as the issues you have faced are all too familiar to me. The compartmentalization of friends, the double life, the not being considered “trans enough” by the trans community…all have been my experience too. I think that’s amazing you did a workshop on part-time trans living…I would have loved to have attended that!    It does hurt when people, especially full-time trans individuals, and even medical professionals, look down on part-time transgender presentation as not being legitimate. I don’t like being lumped into the cross dresser community even if being bigender more resembles cross dressing, not because I have anything against crossdressers personally, but because for me, I don’t relate to a lot of what I’ve seen in the cross dresser community. If I had felt adequately supported in being able to transition full-time 25 years ago, I likely would have. And even if I had, you still would have never caught me wearing heels and rarely would I wear a dress.   For me, how I live is a compromise and an adaptation of having a feminine spirit in a body with male anatomy and not wanting to take surgical risks, plus not wanting to deny my past history of living male-ish and not feeling comfortable presenting particularly androgynously either. I suppose it is possible that at some point I may change my mind and actually transition…apparently that does happen a lot. Maybe I’m unusually stubborn to have stayed part-time this long. Ultimately for any of us who are not cisgender, any presentation is some kind of compromise and there is always going to be someone who doesn’t “approve.”   Ultimately so many factors go into how ANYONE presents themselves publicly, from their past experiences and their comfort level wearing particular clothes and hair styles, I really think no one is in a position to condemn others. It’s just another version of the same old story of people not accepting others with characteristics different than their own.

i should clarify my E levels are on the high end of normal range for males... and T is low for males...
