Good morning, Tonya,

I saw you here and I was headed into the kitchen to get you some of my cookies, I was baking a fresh batch and I was almost knocked down by Donna Jean, she was so eager to meet you that she had taken up the cookies and gotten you some hot cocoa without even using the oven mitt!

I hope she didn't burn herself or spill any hot cocoa on you.

Be careful because the cookies are as hot as the cocoa.

As you might be able to tell already we are a friendly group and we are here to support each other through good times and bad and just to have a place to talk.

Welcome to the family.

Love ya,

Sally

Good morning Sally.

I feel so special with these wonderful greetings. Thanks girl. Hot cocoa and cookies sounds good on this cold Texas morning. Can you believe it snowed here few days ago?

I sure Hope Donna Jean is careful with that hot drink. My camisole does not provide much protection.

Hi Tonya,

Welcome to Laura's. Wow, 10 years in public, that's really good, but looking at your pictures, it's really not surprising at all. I've been out the door several times, but 'public'? Maybe in another 10. We're happy you're here.

Reply to Chloe's comment. First of all, thanks for the wonderful compliment, hun.

Yes, my CD-ing experience venturing out in public goes back about 10 years. However, I am still basically closeted as fas as my family is concerned. With my business I have the opportunity to travel often. So, every chance I have to be Tonya, I take full advantage of. I feel I am being me, and I truly enjoy every minute of it.

I tried to come out to my wife about 2 years ago, but she was not very receptive to the idea. So I just let it go, for now. She does comment every one and then about my shaved legs. I am sure she knows deep inside. If she does not bring it up, why rock the boat? Anyway, glad to be welcomed to this great community.

Hi, Tonya, and welcome to Laura's. I see you've met my wonderful sisters, so I don't have to tell you

how friendly and supportive a place this is.

You know, I tell most new members to look around the forums to get information and ideas and ask

questions. In your case, you've been CDing and successfully passing for years, and judging from

your photos, you can and should be giving our CD members tips and help on their questions.

You are a very lovely lady, and we can all benefit from your experience.

I look forward to seeing your posts. Make yourself at home, Hon, because you are!

Hi Tonya,

It's too bad about your relationship with your wife regarding your cd'ing. I came out very early in our now lengthy marriage (30+ years) and while I didn't tell her the entire story, we discussed what I did, (and she saw some pictures), and we have tried to incorporate some of it into our moments. And we still discuss it on occasion, tho I tend to keep my dress time to myself (mostly because I think she would be trying to tell me exactly how to dress, just what I need!!!).

It may not work for everyone, but it has worked for me.

First of all, you look absolutely fantastic Tonya!

Secondly, although I have been crossdressing for over 20 years now, I have never gone out into public as Danielle. Needless to say, I am very jealous of you right now! However, I too have kept my secret life from my family. My work doesn't take me on the road like yours does so I don't have the ability to be Danielle as much as I would like. I guess what I would like to know is, do you feel as much of a need to be Tonya when you are at home or does the opportunity to have so much private time on the road allow you enough time as Tonya as you would like?

By the way, did I mention how jealous I am of you already? I would love to have that freedom of traveling and being out on the road! I'm sure there are times when you miss your family, but I would think that being in new areas and in parts of the country where absolutely no one knows who you are must make it much easier and more comfortable for you to go out and enjoy life as Tonya. I believe that if I had the opportunity to show Danielle off to the world that I would feel more confident and less fearful if I was far away from home at the time. Do you feel that way?

I'm so glad that you have decided to join our community here and I look forward to reading your response!

Love,

Danielle

Welcome Tonya! I'm new here myself, but already feel at home. I've been cd'ing myself for 30? years or so. Never had the guts to go out in public though. I've thought about it, but hmm...I'd have to have somewhere to go! I may have to pick your brain since you seem to have some experience in things I'd like to pursue. :D Glad you're here!

First of all, thank you so much for the lovely compliments.

Going out is not hard at all. Believe me when I tell you that most people don't notice or care. You may get certain looks every now and then, for a variety of reasons. But, so what?!

I'll briefly tell you how I started out in public. My very first time was Halloween night, about 10 years ago (prior to that it was mostly dressing-up in my basement when my wife would be at work - usually wearing some of her outfits). I knew a GG friend who I had opened up to about my CD-ing. She helped me dress-up and we both hit the bars in Chicago (I lived in Chicagoland suburbs then). Being Halloween night made it easy for me being out in public. I never forget the feeling of the breeze up my skirt. One thing I was unable to do, back then, was to shave my legs. And I got so many compliments; I was hit on by both guys and girls. I had a blast. My friend offered to store my outfit for me so I wouldn't have to throw it away (too chicken to take any of the stuff home).

With my business, I get to travel regularly, but not for extended periods of time, and usually within driving distances - one, maybe two overnight stays. So, typically, on my way out of town, I'd swing by my friend, pick-up some or all of my stuff, and off I go. Once at the motel , I'd do my make-up. I wasn't very good at it at first. But slowly improved through internet research. Once dressed-up, I'd get in the car, and drive, very carefully of course. Eventually, one night, I got the guts to stop at a service station and filled up the car. I was nervous. The next time I went in and bought something. I did few such limited outings for a period of time. Then, before I knew it, I'd make runs to the grocery stores. I'd park the car and walk the along sidewalks, etc... But was always shy and scared to meet and talk to people. Then one day, I learned that I can get a make-over at department stores. Now, I figured that would take real guts - sitting in a chair at the mall, with people walking by, watching me get make-up applied on me. I figured, what the heck, I am out of town (Wisconsin, as I recall). I walked in Macy's, (I think), asked if I could get a make-over. I told the SA I was going to a party, and wanted to dress-up. And, wow, what a difference - I even liked myself - too bad never I deleted the pictures once when I purged (familiar?). Back then, I weighted about 20 pounds less than now. Anyway, to make a long story short, slowly but surely, I started venturing out more and more in public. Now I am very comfortable anywhere, except of course in the immediate vicinity of my home.

About five years ago, I began shaving my legs - winter season only, though, and I pluck my eyebrows, modestly. Of course my wife thinks that's weird (more about wife, some day). My answer was I feel cleaner with no hair, and to please just not worry about what I do to my body. I don't have but very little hair on my chest, so that part is easy to leave alone.

If you have any specific questions, please don;t hesitate to ask.

I’ll bet you didn’t know that South Carolina has at least one and sometimes more earthquakes every month!  And no fracking here.     No wind mills either.  But for some reason we make a lot of ethanol.  We grow more trees than most but it’s all for paper and pole use. Cash crops are still cotton and tobacco.  Used to be a big producer of rice now it’s more of a unique crop, Carolina gold.  Pecans and peanuts are big too.  Lots of fruits and vegetable farms.

If your back hurts when you cycle you ought to consider getting your bike professionally adjusted at a bike shop. They will measure your body proportions, stride, knee angle, etc. to determine how best to adjust your saddle and handle bars. Sometimes even minor adjustments can make a huge difference.    Unless you have health-based restrictions, I'd say ride as much as you like. But as stated above, first tIf your back hurts when you cycle you ought to consider getting your bike professionally adjusted at a bike shop. They will measure your body proportions, stride, knee angle, etc. to determine how best to adjust your saddle and handle bars. Sometimes even minor adjustments can make a huge difference.    I used to be an avid cyclist. Not into group rides or speed, but I used to ride by myself for hours. It's very enjoyable. If you're looking to improve your cardio health, get a fitness tracker like a fitbit which tracks your heart rate. I do have health issues and for that reason no longer ride on the road. But I converted my bike into a stationary bike very easily with a magnet powered stand which was about 50 bucks. My physical therapist gave me a HIIT (high intensity interval training) schedule to follow tailored to one of my health issues. My case is specific and unfortunately it's a challenge for me to balance getting enough cardio exercise without pushing myself into post-exertional malaise. But I can share with you a general guidine to try to amp up your cardio tolerance.   Determine your "recovery pace" and "base pace" heart rate. There are guidelines online you can find to figure that out based on your age, weight, and other qualities. Then track your heart rate as you ride and develop muscle memory for how much exertion corresponds to those paces. For example, base pace should feel like effort, but not strain. Recovery pace should feel easy, but like you're still in control of propelling the bike. In this way you'll develop better intuition for your bike's gears, especially at different inclines.   Give yourself a 5 minute warm up to get your heart rate to the high end of your resting pace. Then alternate base pace (effort but no strain, keeping your heart rate within a higher range, but backing off if it gets too high) with resting pace (allowing heart rate to lower, but maintaining it just below the low end of base pace) in 4 minute intervals. Finish with 5 minutes cool down allowing your heart rate to lower towards the lower end of resting pace. If you try this type of HIIT routine, your basic workout can be 5 (warmup) +4 (base pace) +4 (resting pace) +4 (base pace) +5 (cool down) =22 minutes. Try it twice a week. Then as you develop endurance, add another 4+4 (resting followed by base) min pair before the cool down.   I hope you are able to get your bike adjusted to be pain free & learn to enjoy cycling and enjoying better overall health.

Well my day at work is done.  It was a beautiful day here so far.     Yes @Mirrabooka the United States is noted for the tornados and extreme destruction they cause.  We have long wide open areas between the Rocky Mountains and the Appalachian Mountains where weather extremes have a chance to buildup.  Even East of the Appalachians since those mountains are so old and eroded they aren’t very tall anymore.  Geologist say that early in the history of our planet they were as tall as the tallest mountains on earth but now few reach 4000 feet.   But they have no mercy for anything when they get going.   Our continent has just about everything, earthquakes fire floods hurricanes mud slides rock slides, hurricanes blizzards drought dust storms just about everything thing nature can possibly through at us.

Nope, I'm not being paranoid, I had screen shot everything that happened to me, before it got taken down to cover up what they sent me in an email. I contacted group leaders within our community, and I explained and showed some of the evidence, next they referred to contact an attorney within the community. I had not called the lawyer back hoping things would settle down. In the meantime, just recently an  lbtqai+ community held a Zoom meeting, as I explained my story. The board is thinking about getting a guest speaker on how we can be safe online.

True unfortunately. I do see a bit of difference between gender issues and sexuality, although they are related and frequently overlap.  Hardly a reason to fight with each other though.

I have maybe 4.  I tend to carry the same one for a long time.  2 of them are from Gypsy Rose that I got from a friend that was running a "hippie" boutique at the time.  They are just big enough to be able to slip my Mac book air in with the other stuff. I do have a plain green one, and a beat-up old leather one that I actually used sometimes as a guy when I could get away with it.  (another tell that I managed to ignore up till I couldn't) This thread is kinda making me think I might expand my collection.  A nice leather bag would be sweet.  But I am a bit particular.  Humm……

Greetings all!   I am looking at bringing some cycling time into my weekly exercise, but honestly, right now my back just murders me when I try to do anything more than 10 minutes.   What that being said, I do have some questions for those here, if anyone is willing to answer.  ^.^   Do you cycle as part of exercise? If so, how much? How difficult is the route you take? What are your ultimate goals?   I'll go first.   I do, but only once a week. Once a week for roughly 15 minutes. I use a very flat, low resistance route. My ultimate goals are to keep the rump and thigh thickness, while working some cardio into the routine to keep it interesting.   I'm asking for advice on what is a good starter range, as I'm not sure if I'm just causing myself discomfort without any benefit with the above routines.

SIGHTLINES   I worship at the point of a gun On Friday nights and Sunday mornings. I pray for peace under the watchful eye of hired men With guns holstered on their hips Who laugh with us Eat with us Pray with us -      Dear God, not tonight      Not this morning      Not my friends      Please, not on my watch And I'm fully aware of the irony of the statement Because too often, our ancestors were forced to pray At the point of a gun because they said the wrong prayers In the wrong languages Loved the wrong person Identified the wrong way But today, I do so of my own free will. When I leave, I say thank you -      That it wasn't tonight      It wasn't this morning      It didn't happen while I sang      It wasn't my friends Because this week the guns stayed silent. But next week and next week and weeks afterward Could be the week that guns point in, not out And I can't will myself to believe it could never happen here because      Someone tried to bomb my Temple,       Someone set it on fire,      Someone shot up the clinic where I go for healthcare      Someone shot up the club my friends danced at So when I pray, I offer a wish to the universe That guns be melted into musical instruments and works of art. If someone wishes to shoot me, They will have to beat works of art into tools for the hand Before they can become instruments of war again.
