Hi all, I was wondering if anybody had any experience in using high compression garments to create a more of an hour glass shape. Sort of a modern version of a corset. It appeals to me in two senses one its like a corset :D and the other it something that I can do while I am home that is positively impacting my shape. These claims seem amazing people on amazon have given it a a good review.

So any information on results or tips for sizing would be appreciated. Or if you have/are used traditional corsets and the results achieved.

Thanks

Justme,

These look to me like modern reworkings of a lot of the old 'Sauna Belts' from the 70s - they didn't really work then and I am afraid that even with new fabrics they will have little effect once you take them off - you would be better off to eat a little less and exercise targeting the tummy and waist.

Love ya,

Sally

Justme,

I've had a number of these things. There is NOTHING that will affect or change your body size for more than a few days at best. Not those, corsets, body wraps or anything else. The body can be reduced, but it's only water loss and the water always comes back....

I loved a little 8" wide waist cincher I had that gave me a nice reduction when I had it on. It really helped me achieve a more feminine shape.

I also had several corsets, real ones made in England. They reduce your body size by pushing your internal organs out of place. When you quit wearing them, things tend to move back in, so again, no real permanent change.

However, those things can simply make you look (and feel) divine when you have them on. They help give you a real figure.

If a temp look is what you're after, they work well.

Yeah, Justme....

I'm afraid that the girls are right.

Temporary results at best...regular weight control is best and of course, HRT will help a bunch there!

Just like the FTM's and binders, you can do damage if something constrictive is worn for too long!

Just be careful.....OK?

HUGGS!

Hi Justme,

If you're looking for instant re-shaping of your body, the item listed (an updated waist cincher) and others (girdles, full shapers, even control top pantyhose) will give you some shaping (I'm sure corsets are probably the best). The more your body is out of shape, the more help you're going to need, and the wider your waist is, the less hourglassy your body will look when you're wearing them. And that's the key.

I looked at the ad and some of the claims makes sense, especially the not so subtle direction to use it only 2-3 hours per day. That kills it for an evening out, doesn't it!

The one claim I am suspicious of, is the strong suggestion it will help you lose weight. Yeah, if you also reduce your intake and increase your body workouts. (I recently saw a claim that one could use up to 89 calories by using stairs but ONLY 13 by taking an escalator - wow! I'm going to ride an escalator 20 times today, let's see, that's 260 calories burned, just by standing still!!!!)

I use shapers and girdles and whatnot a lot (what? you think those pictures of me are my real waist size? Well, of course they are!!uh huh, yeah, sure,) , but I also watch my eating and try to exercise.

If temporary reshaping is what you're looking for, it will probably work to some degree. If you do get one, please let us know how it works.

Hugs,

Chloë

I have a couple corsets. Yes, it does a wonderful job giving me an hourglass shape. After months of wearing them, the results are semipermanent in that you can take it off, and your body still has an hourglass shape (not quite as much though once you take it off. After years of tight-lacing a corset, the results ARE permanent IF you wear it 24/7 (take it off to bath and that is it). It will influence the way your body distributes fat and will bring in your lower ribs to a more feminine shape (womens power ribs taper in to the waist more than men's who are pretty boxy). If you ever do tightlace a corset, never go more than 4" of waist reduction, or you risk interfering with your digestive tracts ability to work properly (and can place too much pressure on organs). Over years of 24/7 usage, you can actullt go to far and create a grotesque waist/hip ratio (below the "ideal" 1/1.6). Check out the woman with the world record for the smallest waist.

So if you want to commit the money and energy into this form of body modification, go for it but do it slowly and patiently. Also, know when to say when.

For something that will truly modify your shape over time, that will last and won't break your pocketbook, check out this site.

Hope that helps.

Hi Hun,

Yeh, tried those thingies in the past. For me though , and I have

not started estrogen , Diet down as much as possible (ugh, luv my food)

and let new fat deposits (hrt induced) and an exercise regime do the biz.

Those corsets do look sexy though and I would not be opposed to owning

one ""or two"". Mmmmm. Luv,viv :)

Your welcome. I had to look far and wide to find quality, beauty, and a reasonable price. All their stuff is rugged with excellent boning, busks that last (that is a biggie with some cheaper stuff), and have three layers of fabric (you could probably suspend an F350 with them). The clearance items are in the same price range as a decent shaper from JC Penny with boning. Hard to beat. I am debating getting an overbust one that I could wear to the bar and have that burlesque look, but girl they are pricey.

Not a quote, but a poem; "Invictus," by William Henley.  I had it hanging on the wall of my office for many years.   "I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul."

I am ambidextrous. I learned to write righty in school so I usually write with my right hand but my handwriting is better if I use my left hand. I use a lefty mouse. I am physically stronger in my left side.

Easy, I have felt the same way, not quite to the point of wanting to quit but sitting there one dosing morning and thinking "what am I doing?". I am in a crazy place right now; family is moving across the country, I am being laid off for the first time in my career and have to find a new job, and I'm in the middle of this gender journey that seems like it makes everything harder than it could be. I'd always been a "man with boobs", even when I was in my 20s and really skinny I had breast tissue, and now I'm accepting of that and want more but in a different way--I don't want to be a man with boobs, I want something different. I am something different, but it's hard because of nearly a half-century of social programing. So I empathize with your struggle, very directly.   I haven't dressed "male" for nearly six months and I just volunteered at a conference with my femme nickname and she/her pronouns on my name lanyard. The whole experience was great, I didn't feel a minute of anxiety or worry. That stuff comes at home, when left to my thoughts. Which is more telling? The comfort being Mae in public or the doubts and worry in private?   When I look in the mirror and see this more feminine me, it calms down the doubts and worry, so I'm starting to allow myself to trust in the former.

Totally!  I started HRT 21 months ago.  I'm 53yo now.  I mostly did not want the feminine genes of my family to take me over.  I told my doctor I wanted athletic breasts.  She has kept me on fairly low doses and I'm avoiding progesterone so far.   It's mostly mental for me.  Taking the pressure off from not having erections is soothing and changes my thinking.  I just want that stuff gone.  I had fun with it, but I'm over it.   I'm extremely happy with what has happened with my breasts.  Perhaps it took more than a year, but they have a feminine, athletic appearance now.  I don't notice changes in the rest of my body.  I've always enjoyed being thin and straight and have no desire for curves.  I can dig that butch with a feminine touch look.  I was upset at cutting my hair, but I'm liking it now.   It's fun to see all these young transwomen in my environment.  Everyone has their own style and the younger generation has a style of their own compared to us older people.   OK, back to baking a pie and doing some knitting....

I have one daughter who is left handed.  But she is fairly ambidextrous.  Apparently you have to be.

The time I spent "on the street" was mostly in the woods.  I dislike cities.  Even now my "bathroom" is out in the back yard, and has been for years.  When you're used to it, it's not so bad.  Helps one keep up with the seasons. I have no desire to live on the street in a city. Most of my adult kids live in cities.  It's nice enough for a visit, but I still prefer the country.
