A Different Meaning

It has long been recognized that the term Born Again

Has been reserved for referring to becoming a Christian

It refers to the symbolic death and resurrection

During the ceremony of baptism by submersion

But it also applies in a much more literal than merely figurative sense

To those of us who finally put our Gender Dysphoria in the past tense

We live our lives as someone else just for you

But to become ourselves is evil in your view

To me the only true evil I see

Is showing your anger to me

This is the biggest problem for all of us

Losing the respect from people we trust

I was taught all about understanding and Christian unconditional love

By the people who will not accept me as I am I need help from above

Help to give me the wisdom to let me understand

Why it so important to them that I remain a man

Is my well-being so far down their list

Would they force me to merely exist

If they had this condition and need of my understanding

I often wonder would they be more or less demanding

I never ask for very much

Just acceptance and such

Would it be too very much trouble for you

To give me that little compassion I am due

I don’t ask for your undying love or your total acceptance

Just enough to not feel locked out we don’t have to dance

I am quite puzzled that being such a gentle soul

I can cause so much fear in society as a whole

Please believe for this is the absolute truth

We don’t recruit we are not after your youth

It is a hard life made so much harder by you

But I want to have others suffer in your view

A few things that I think that you should know

It is a physical condition that just doesn’t show

It is not a virus no communicable disease we are not contagious

You will not become infected if you should happen to engage us

I am outwardly becoming the woman I have always been

It is a physical need not a choice or a phase never a whim

So pardon me if I do not join you in mourning the loss of that man

I am too busy celebrating the emergence of me as I am born again
