Bridge Over Troubled Water Song

for some reason I have the words to "The Boxer" playing in my head, some how that song is strangely appropriate for the way im feeling things

its the last verse I relate to

"In the clearing stands a boxer

And a fighter by his trade

And he carries the reminders

Of ev'ry glove that layed him down

Or cut him till he cried out

In his anger and his shame

"I am leaving, I am leaving"

But the fighter still remains

One of my all time favorite musical duo's!

I don't think they ever did anything bad!

I was turned on to them in the mid 60's when my English teacher played their record in class...

Thank you Ms. Arnold!

I heard about them early on when that radio station in Boston was still playing the electric version of Sounds of Silence which got them their fame and listened to them late at night.

Silence like a cancer grows. Too true, isn't it.

I worked in a record store so I bought the complete works of Simon and Garfunkel in a box set released shortly after they broke up.

Some good things from having worked way too long for way too little, 10,000 albums!

By the way for the younger members we used to sit around the caves with a side of mastodon cooking in the fire - rotisseries were invented much later and we listened to large flat vinyl discs called albums or LPs.

Just a glimpse into the world of us older folks.

Love ya,

Sally

I change music on my Ipod constantly. Only have an 8gb. But Simon and Garfunkee are on there all the time. Feeling groovy, Dangling Conversation, Old friends/bookends. All great songs.
