Has anyone seen the trailer to "Being t"? Any thoughts?

Yeah I've been waiting for this to come out for a long time. The trailer is fantastic. Gritty and truthful, with a nice edgy direction/production feel to it. The clip from Oprah almost made me spat out my pepsi, I'd forgotten she was in it. Her and Dr Phil. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I think Joanna they've taken 6 or 7 second soundbytes from Oprah (and maybe quack Phil) to illustrate the negative stereotyping by mass media.

What I love about Phil is that he's not really a Doctor!!! At least any that count.

I'm so glad i saw this topic. The movie looks really interesting. But I guess I may have missed when it will be coming out. It's always good to have something like this show the reality rather than the tv world.

Anything even remotely associated with Dr. Phil makes me cut and run!

I just wish that any clips from him wasn't used! It tends to cheapen it and give it less validity!

Having just reviewed the trailer, i am not sure as to where they are going with the series. With the number of us out there the women on the trailer are all either exstreet walkers, exporn stars or others who have managed to give us a collective bad name. One of the scenes actually shows one of the women setting up a trick.

another scene shows a clip from the Oprah show, where she is telling a transsexual, you have a penis that makes you a boy. That one comment has caused me to lose much respect for her. She should know that despite outward appearances we are as female as she is.

My feeling is that I am going to avoid this documentary for a number of reasons

I watched the trailer and i don't think I'll be watching the movie. It says it was produced by Janet Jackson . . . THE Janet Jackson? Anyway, if anybody out there is getting ready to start on self injecting hormones . . . it's not done the way it was portrayed in that preview. You don't stab the needle in and then yank it out and let blood (and the hormone solution) bleed out onto the floor. Ridiculous--stupid. Are they trying to scare people, or is this their idea of sensationalism? Phooey, Thumbs down.

I watched the trailer and it is just pornography for the most part---I agree with Joanna--it will certainly do nothing to advance the acceptance of trans people, as it just perpetuates the stereotypes. Looks like it is all about MtF---but what my son is about---being FtM--- is nothing to do with this and I am sure that most of the MtFs on this site are not remotely related to what this movie portrays---it should really be boycotted! If Dr. Phil is involved in any way, I would question the motives for the movie to begin with!!
