Last installment of 2009!!!

OMG this has been a long week. My father had knee surgery right before we were to come and stay at his house so my step-mother recommended we stay with my brother's family but some friends of ours put us up at a motel near their house which caused all sorts of weird little drama...not enough to make a big thing of, but enough to make a little thing of and little things get big when there are so many of them (or they get big when you feed them estrogen and they are growing on your chest...another story for another time, dear ones).

You know you're becoming a girl when:

Your brother gives you a game of torment from your childhood as a gag gift and you have to laugh-cry to cover the hurt-cry...

Your friend makes a hardbound book of pictures she has collected of your children and you cry uncontrollably in front of your friends...

You ooh and ahh over some beautiful thrift store purchases...

You listen to the long stories your friends parents tell that used to be a drag and are now really interesting and you care about all of their little things...

(this list will continue...)

So I promised myself I wouldn't talk about the pain in my chest (so I'm not talking about it, see?).

What I really want to talk about is the lack of slowed growth of my body hair. I went to town with the epilator yesterday and it hurt so much, especially on my chest. They say it gets better but it doesn't get any better (maybe on the legs, but not on the chest and torso, dear ones). Just a lot of hurt but I hate hate hate stubble on my chest and epilating is the only way to get rid of it for a longer time (yes, I could wax, but I haven't figured out how to do that to myself just yet and the epilator is cheaper and cleaner...waxing is too messy and sticky). I know I have to be patient about all of this, but the hair thing is the one thing I really want to happen NOW and, of course, a watched pot never boils (which is just not true, it does boil...physics are entirely insensitive to the human eye's ability to stop their processes). I think hair removal is the worst part of this. I hate hair removal, but not as much as the hair that has been removed and needs to be removed. Uggh!!! Not to mention the hair that is not growing where I want it to, but that is another story...

A little more visible vellus growth at my temples. I will wait and be patient...

Thank you all so much for being here and reading and writing. Laura's is becoming a big part of my transition...a place I can come to get what I need to get off of my chest (except the hair  ). I love you all!

More to come...

Oh, Viv,

Sugaring sounds so...sticky. I have this very negative reaction to sticky. I've tried to train my children to avoid stickiness (their mother laughs at my ministrations...I will instill a good healthy anti-stickiness in them soon!).'

I'm weird, but I'll take pain before sticky ;)

luv

OMG! I just did!

Sugaring is a method of epilation that is similar to waxing,[1][2] and, for that reason, is "often called sugar waxing or Persian waxing."[3][4]

I'm a masculine woman. It's not about masculinity though. It's about expanding what it means to be a woman.

It never rains but it pours.  We had a dry spring, but now my garden is a swamp and my yard is a pond.  Get off the gravel road, and you'd need a hovercraft.    With nothing better to do, I'm going on a short trip with my husband tomorrow.  Since he's in management he usually doesn't do this sort of work, but whenever he does I usually go along.  And he already knows not to try staying in a hotel, because I want to sleep in the bunk in the truck.  So much more cozy.    And for a couple of days, GF can actually take care of her own kids instead of leaving them to me....

I have played clarinet, but without talent.  And while I *can* sing, I think listening to it would be an acquired taste.

Something that would help is reducing salt intake which causes the body to hold water and causes inflammation, another thing would be to add cardio to your exercise routine. Lowering your overall body fat will affect your face appearance. Hope this helps :)

Hi Sally, okay I'll head on over to your post and check out your makeup techniques.

Hey all,   It's been a while, but I blogged a whole series on makeup.  It's an eight-part series where I talk about my techniques.   Here is the link to Part 1:       Hopefully the blog series is helpful.

Oh, I can relate to that one Vicky, leaving lipstick in hot weather  I've lost count how many times I had to purchase new purses.

Thanks for the replies, as an admin from my own group I understand the same rules, agreed.

I do spoken word acting, and give Trans 101 talks and other public speaking.  I wear make-up for those occasions.  Sephora is easy for me to get to, and has a foundation that does a good job for me and the sales folks there are Trans Friendly.  Their eye shadow pallets are also fun to use. Another source of my foundation is Ulta which carries Dermablend that does a consistent job of my lower face and chin.   I just use good old Revlon lipsticks because I ruin them by leaving my purse in the hot car too often.

I'm not interested in makeup, jewelry or nice clothes or girly stuff.  It's made me wonder at times.   It saves some money.  If I wore a skirt it would likely  be denim.  I thought about a woman's skirt suit but nah.   Neither of my sisters are into that stuff either.  One likes peasant chic (still a 60s flower girl)  and the other - the only time she has ever worn a dress was at her wedding.  Jeans at all other times.   Jeans and t shirt here.  Content being a girl.  Weirdo. Weirda? Never mind.

@Ladypcnj Before posting links to other group's websites, PM one of the Staff (preferably an Admin) and have them check that site out.   We have specific rules here regarding age appropriateness and would need to know that the other site is in line with those rules.  We do have members here between 13 and 18 and other sites need to be safe for that age range, legally and otherwise.  Also, we are not a dating or pick-up site, not do we allow people selling things to advertise here.  As I said clear the link with a moderator or admin before posting it.  Mod's and admins do check out posts and if we find problem links we will remove them and notify the OP of a rules violation.  Go to https://www.transgenderpulse.com/community-rules to understand where we are.

I raise my hand in the group, I have a question and a suggestion... is it allowed to share other new lgbtq+ website links here?
    • Ladypcnj
Yeah, ELF is a good brand, another brand is Revlon ColorStay last 24 hours.
