Transgender Be United World Wide

When I read the problems that transgender people have all over the world, I fell sorry.

Trans persons have to face various oppositions. In some countries we live a normal life, are allowed to adopt children, have a job and get married - in other countries their are a lot of controls. Transgernder persons are not allowed to work unless they behave "normal". They can't change their name etcetera - and in many countries they can't join a parade or even walk in the street without being subjected to scorn, hate and even hate crimes.

I believe that the time has come, where transgender organization all over the world take action, make contact in order to establish a world organization.

By doing this we hopefully can contribute to a better day - to - day life for trans persons all over the globe.

I have a little dream. Imagine we could see the President of the United Nations and convince him to establish a "World Transgender Program (WTP) under the UN flag!!

That the day will come, where Transgender people can live a normal life with civil rights as eveyone else. Where they are allowed to live as the gender they are, take the firstname they want, decide to undergo sexchange operation without facing a "no go" from contrary lawes and politicians. Can adopt and get married.

I myself wouldn't mind being active in this work.

What a lovely idea. Yes ,it would be wonderful to have such recognition .

I have said before that I would love to see the day when we can present to the

medical fraternity and be looked upon no differently as any other member of

society, meaning being Transsexual is treated the same as if you needed a broken

leg mended. I am sure in your country women like you who wish to play a proactive

part in putting our cause forward would be welcome ,I applaud you. Thank you for

Where I have seen changes in the last 1/4 century has been in my own circle. I belong to a large volunteer organization with a diverse membership. In the last 5-10 years more and more of our members are open about their sexual orientation, whether gay. bisexual, etc., whatever description we wish to use. Many of these people are same-sex married. Unfortunately I do not have this kind of courage up to now, but that may change - I may be the first transgendered person to come out. Who knows what the future will bring?

For me, the old adage "Think globally, act locally" applies.
