Getting My Hair Done.

Ok I have grown my hair our to just barely touching my shoulders, but it has become shaggy and unkempt looking while I was growing it so it is time for a haircut. I have decided to ask for a very feminine cut, but I don't have the slightest idea what to get so plan on telling whomever cuts my hair to have fun with it like I usually do. I am a bit apprehensive about it though since the only hair cut place I know takes walk-ins is Supercuts. A public chain store going in male persona asking for a female cut, is giving me a little anxiety. I can handle it though, but have thought about looking for a private hair stylist with set appointments.

I need some help though. I have, for as long as I remember, told the person cutting my hair to have fun with it and I did not care about the style. I am not sure if I should do it this time or if I should figure out a style before hand. I don't even know what styles are classified as feminine or how they would suit me. Any advice?

I have only dyed my hair once in my life, purple. It was supposed to be smurf blue, but I have very dark blond hair so it went purple. I have been thinking about getting it dyed 2 tone blond and black, but I am guessing the cost would be prohibitive at best.

Personally honey I would go in with a picture to let them know what you are interested in. Perhaps you could look up wigs over the internet for styles or look in some magazines. Sometimes the stylist will have a book of hair styles that you can look at. I just wouldn't leave it to chance, many stylist will be tempted to give you a male hair style if you are not specific reguardless of what you say. And hair takes an awfull long time to grow out.

I would have to agree with Jean. You need to have a picture of the haircut you are looking for. You don't want to wait until you hair grows out again. You might even think about calling a salon for this one. Supercuts is good for walk-ins but do you really trust them to to a good job with your first female cut. Good Luck with the haircut.
