Anyone else ever have an experience posting at craigslist on the Trans forum? Just curious.

~JD

No, Hon.....never posted, but, I used to go there a lot and read....

I finally left....mean and nasty....of course it's not moderated and people really get to

going after each other....

Lots of admirers and chasers come in, too...

Were you thinking of posting there?

If you do, it helps to have a thick skin.....

HUGGS!

Actually Ive been posting there for 10 days and Ive been really sick since then. I mean, high stress, throwing up, horrible stomach pains... feels like my stomach is filled with battery acid. I joined there when I didn't know where else to turn as Ive had years of experience at Craigs... I know about the trolls and the creepers and what-not but had hoped to find some real solice there... Unfortunately it appears one of the posters has at least 10 handles and I fear its the one person thats been kind to me... found out they had alterior motives and Im just sick from the deciet...

That's why that won't happen here...only one person per IP address allowed! Geez, Hon...I'm so sorry that had such a bad time there when all you were looking for was some comfort.

Maybe you can stick around here and find something that you can deal with....

I know that we're G-PG rated, but, the people are good and we try REALLY hard....

Huggs...

Never posted there, but HAVE lurked. It didn't seem like a good thing to stay there for long... Especially because of all the trafficking of underaged girls D: (Not allowed, but still happens.)

I've found it can be a pretty dangerous place. You are more likely to find someone caring on here, than Craigslist. Like DJ said, we are PG rated but at least there are no scary creepers on here... :c

I had hoped to find other Chicagoans that go to the local support groups I am going to be attending so I can get a feel for what Im going to soon be experiencing and so that I wouldn't feel so alone there... There was one other from Chicago at CL and apparently shes here on Laura's Playground as well... and that person has actually turned out to be a creep to say the least. Had a bunch of handles and a bunch of stories and even publicly outed some members as well as called up their employers and families and destroyed their reputations and lives in the process. And now shes claiming I disrespected her when I didn't take her desire to "take me under her wing" ... Im so tired of the drama. All I want is to transition without being alone and scared of how I know so many in my life will abandon me... I guess I gotta learn to accept it though.

I'm not sure what the hoopla of Craig's List is all about. I mentioned earlier that my car was totaled just before the holidays, and I glanced at CL once after getting on Cars.com and CL was pathetic in its ability to narrow selections (I found the car I'm driving on Cars). I'm also always looking for a better job and SimplyHired does a much better job then CL or Monster of getting a narrow appropriate selection (my spouse just got her BS after going back to school and I steered her to SimplyHired and she is into a second interview phase). Sounds like CL is more of a Facebook/twitter unmonitored place which somehow just does not sound appealing.

I've used CL while looking for certain hard goods, such as autos, and parts, but I would never look for sex related postings, because it would be like Russian Roulette. Scary what is out there, and no monitoring either. I guess there are some services that are good for some things, but there are no services that are good for all things. If this sounds completely confusing, then, I guess we are on the same wave length. (Garbage in, garbage out) If you want safety, and to stay out of harms way, then stick with Laura's.

Sincerely

Roberta

Oh jeez, just to clarify, I did NOT post in a section looking for hook-ups! It was SUPPOSED to be a Transgender support forum and it turned out to be just a bunch of hormonal bittys bickering and trolling. I decided earlier tonight to no longer post there.

But then again Im also ... well... nevermind. Not important.

The Internet can be a wild place similar to the old (lawless) Wild West. One site may have rules and safeguards for their members while others do not. Craig's list has a specific job and support is not one of them. If you want support go to a place designed for that purpose. There are many fine Transgender support sites who do try to protect their users. Believe it or not there are people out there looking to take advantage of human misery Just looking for people who are depressed to take advantage of them. There have been several incidents of people trying to get those like this to commit suicide and there have been deaths from this. Some people's motives are not pure and in some cases be almost criminal.

Be careful where you post your stories or your secrets. Even here we ask people to keep their personal identity details to themselves. This is for their safety. The Internet can be an awesome place but it can also be dangerous for the vulnerable. Please be careful out there.

One of the primary reasons I prefer Laura's over any other place is the very fact that this place is moderated and is safe. I do not feel comfortable anywhere else.

I hadn't been there in a long time, but, because of this thread I went back to have a look....

OMG!

How awful it is......

Well, I know to avoid it any more..and I certainly hope that others do to....

Quite true.  The amusing thing about opposites is how similar they can be.   My family left Greece because of the conflict between the communists and the militarists/fascists.

This wouldn't even be a problem if they would just leave us alone.  It is a no-brainer.

OMG.  I'm glad it wasn't worse, and you were able to get on it quickly.  Lots of blood can be scary.

Like I said, I'm no tankie, but I do see a world of difference between Joseph Stalin and Bernie Sanders.   If the point is not wanting 'government control' the Right is pretty good at that themselves - as they've been demonstrating lately. This stuff gets complicated.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Ngl, probably Sonic the Hedgehog, the Beatles, or the Monkees. Those are the three subjects I know the most about so I could drop hours of info on them.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!
    • Ashley0616
It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

Congratulations Sam,   The common saying her once someone starts HRT is: “Enjoy the ride.”   Best wishes, stay positive and motivated    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well yesterday was not fun. I was getting ready to make dinner and I hear screaming and crying. I look over and my son put his foot through glass. He gashed near his Achilles tendon. Thankfully that is intact. I didn't freeze for a second. All of my military training came into play. I doctored him up and got Jett ready and myself and we headed to the ER. He is doing ok today. He says he is in pain but doesn't need Tylenol. He is a tough cookie!

Hi,   It's seems today is my trans birthday.  I'm beyond excited. Just picked up my testogel from the pharmacy. Although I naturally have doubts as I'm sure do we all, they are rapidly disappearing. Yesterday I was so nervous I kept claiming I'm not trans, despite grinning like a fool knowing I can pick up my prescription the next day. I'm shaking and on the verge of happy tears. I will put on my first sachet this eve. Thanks so much to this forum and kind words from people. This is the first forum I found when I began seriously questioning.
