Nothing wrong with it as a name, just hate being referred to as Chad instead of Ashley like I would prefer. Someday my mom will call me Ashley and I'm sure it will be the greatest moment evar! No scratch that, it will be the day she wants to get our hair and nails done together. That will be the day!

Incoherent ramblings aside. Chad is a good name though, for a boy. Wear it proudly! I know you will wear it well. =)

Personally I don't see why you couldn't be called Ashley regardless of who is "against" transsexualism. Time was , the only "Ashley's" were male. Hence Ashley Wilkes in Gone with the Wind. Its crazy how people "allow" or "disallow" names when in fact they often are only "catagorized" as they are because of time period and/or geographic location.

Completely agree with many of the previous posts. I really don't like saying my birth name. It's very...awkward, like I'm referring to someone else even though I know its supposed to refer to me. Honestly, I can't remember a time when it wasn't like that.

To make matters worse, I was named after a song. Whenever it plays, people are always like:

People: Hey! That's you!

Me: Yes...yes it is.

I hate that. So, so much.
