So hiya thar. Ariel here

I hadn't really tried working on my voice since my family's always around

but lately they've been gone for at least an hour everyday and that's given me about a week and a half to start this thing up

After much trying and failing I feel like I'm getting there

so now I'd like you to tell me where to go from here if you could. Like what to improve and such.

Comment and suggesti-it's all in my sample....

anyways I can't be held responsible for bleeding ears...

thanks

Ariel

P.S. I don't have a fancy site like some of you so is mediafire ok?

I listened to the recording and you have a soft but not to be mean cartoonish voice. I really think you are at a good starting point though. You just need to get it to sound a little louder and not so soft. Just to let you know, I am having the same problem with my voice when I am working on it. I found I can sing pretty good like a girl but talking is another story. Just remember that this is going to be the hardest thing for us MTF's to get down. You already look beautiful and once you get the voice down there will be no stopping you. Keep it up and you will get there.

Love,

Sarah F

That's a fantastic start, Ariel! You have the inflections and rhythm down. I'm thinking the pitch might be a little high even for someone in her teens. Maybe you might consider bringing it down a little to give your voice more serious tone?

Hi Ariel!

Wow! I think it's a great start! More than great! ^_^ for the amount of time you spent on it!

Once you will lower the pitch a little bit- gonna sound absolutely beautiful.

Keep it up!

You know, I have a friend who sounds very similar to you. It works for her because she has a very tiny frame. Still, that is a very impressive voice you have, especially after only a week and a half ^_^!

Hi Ariel

Well I have to agree with the others, it is a bit high. But being that you are young and your voice has not come down naturally yet I think if you continue to practice like you have your voice will drop into a natural pitch as you get older.

You're doing very well ;) keep up the good work. :P

It is wonderful that you have all of the inflections down already - very good now if you can relax just a little the pitch will lower to a more expected range.

However my sister's voice was that high until her forties but she did get a few looks as she got older.

Love ya,

Sally

Thanks Davie! And don’t worry, I didn’t take it that way. It’s just such a big topic I can only hope to tackle it one bit at a time.

This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.
