I'm new to cycling.

I just got a new computer for my bike because I was tired of moving the computer from the front to the back when I was going from the road to the trainer. Well, the new computer has a cadence meter on it and I found out that I've been pushing hard and slow. (~60 RPM & 20 MPH)

What is the best cadence for a good burn?

I was told at the shop to aim for 90, but so far haven't been able to hold that for more than 20 minutes at a stretch.

What is the best way to get up to a high cadence?

Do you burn more calories with a higher cadence, or by pushing harder?

Which way builds more muscle mass? ( I think hard and slow because my calves are pretty thick.)

I do about 10-20 miles a day during the week, and then 30 - 40 miles on weekends.

Just looking for advice.

Ugh, I'm studying abroad in Holland right now. So, we bike everywhere. I'm gaining a lot of muscle in my thighs....it's giving me that womanly curve. Urgh.
