Just had a consult with Jeff Spiegel: $44,000 for everything he recommends for me (plus flights, hotel, food, etc). Seems a similar price to what I've heard people say for Doug Ousterhout, but I've yet to get a personalised quote from him.

my FFS cost 40K (sept 09) and he wants me to come back after I lose more weight for a face lift and some work on the waist - total comes to about 100K then add in another 50k to fix my teeth. - But then don't really need to leave an inheritance. One word of caution, when shopping around, you can find cheaper docs - but they don't all do bone work - the cheap ones do 'fillers' so ask the docs what they will be doing.

That's...freakishly expensive, considering the alternative is only about 10 dollars; 300 for a sure thing.

I had FFS with Dr. O alittle over a yr ago. I would not have him do the soft tissue only the bone work and the trach shave. Dr Meltzer does it all now and is much better imo with the face, especially rinoplasty. He can do everything i was just there he can do the bone work eyes, nose, Malar cheek implants, BA, SRS everything. He is alittle less expensive on the FFS and i think a better result. Last operation i had with Dr. O didnt seem like he even did anything. And i have heard this from a few other MTF's

It really depends on how much you want and really need to have done. Meltzer did my whole face aside from the bone that was Dr. O. I had scalp adancement with forehead lift, jawline, brow, trach shave, rino, under eye ( i would have dr Meltzer do the eyes and rino), and chin. I have a titanim plate there. It was about $56k i think. I had to have Meltzer redo the nose and eyes when i had SRS...I later had him put in the Malar cheek implants, not too big tho. If you have the $ imo have Meltzer do everything as far as 'fFS

Still trying to plan my FFS. Got a quote from Dr Bart van de Ven (Agave clinic, Spain): €21,000 (euros). That doesn't include otoplasty and thyroid cartilage reduction which were included in Dr Spiegel's quote. If you take the costs for those two procedures away from Dr Spiegel's quote, there's about $6000 difference between Dr Bart van de Ven and Dr Spiegel.

Agave clinic has an offer of "get one procedure free" at the moment. If they didn't have that, the costs would be practically identical. (Not including travel etc.)

No quote from Doug Ousterhout yet...

By the way, if anyone has first hand experience of FFS with Dr Spiegel I'd be delighted to hear from you!
