Hello Ladies,

I haven't posted anything for a while but have been here reading a lot of posts. I have been trying to figure out which turn to make on the path that I am on. I got a wild hair last week since my wife was out of town for a few days with her mother. I took a few days vacation from work and decided I was going to be Daphene for a few days while the wife was gone. I am out to her but she does not accept it. I have several dresses and skirts and blouses but no women's jeans so I decided to go shopping for some. I went to Walmart to find some jeans and capris. I was not sure of the size so I got a size 10, 12 and a 14 to try on. I am in male mode at Walmart. I usually buy stuff with out trying it on in the store because I just haven't had the nerve to try on womens clothes in the store before. So this was a first for me. I went to the fitting room and it was locked but the older lady was there to unlock it and check what items I was going to try on. She looked at the jeans and looked at me and said these are womens jeans. I said I know. She said are they for you and I said yes. She had a grin on her face and said well you just go on in there and have a good time, have a really good time. I said thank you and I went in to the fitting room. Turns out the size 10 was perfect. I left the fitting room and the lady said did you find the right size and I said yes I will keep this one so she took the other two pairs. I went over and got a second pair of size 10 jeans to purchase. These are low rise stretch denim boot cut with flowers around the waist area. Very feminine which is what I wanted. I also got a pair if capris and 3 new tops. One mint green and two pink ones. I got to the check out and the young girl at the register said are these for you and I said yes. She smiled. I said do you see a lot of guys buying womens colthes for themselves and she said you would be surprised, she said it happens all the time. So what I learned from this experience is to just be yourself and not get nervous. Its not ucommon and both ladies were very nice to me. It was fun and I look forward to doing it again. I told my wife when she got home and of course she just shook her head and brushed it off.

Daphene

daphene....

I had to laugh at the sales lady....how cool...

You had a great experience there and it worked out great...

Hey, let me give you a little hint about what I do when I can't try something on...

I will lay out a pair of jeans flat on the bed, button the front and then, with a cloth tape, measure side to side...

Then when you are at a store and the jeans are on a rack, you just use your tape there.....(don't forget the inseam...)

I do the same with tops.....

Works great...I shop a lot at Goodwill where I can't try things on and this method assures very few things aren't right!

Happy shopping, Hon!

HUGGS!

Good advice Donna Jean. I will have to remember that next time because sometimes you just can't try stuff on.

Thanks,

Huggs,

same here! I went shopping yesterday with my wife and as we had a big pile of clothes in our arms, the sales girl asked if we needed a fitting room started (looking straight at my wife :() My wife, being slightly disappointed said no thanks. I was in guy mode, but we shop there alot and we buy TALL jeans (my wife is 5'6" or so-so they are obviously not for her) lol I need to get the nerve to to just do it someday.

Not too long on the nerve department here but I just go in and buy the clothes without really talking to anyone - it is the way I always shop for anything in male mode.

I am looking forward to that freedom of just being me and no longer trying to hide my true self to keep a job that I hate.

Good for you Daphene!

Love ya,

Sally

Don't get me wrong ladies I am till in male mode most of the time which I hate but it sure was exciting trying on the clothes and then buying them. I guess the most exciting part was letting someone else see my true gender other than my wife. I enjoyed telling the Walmart ladies these are for me.

That's just great, Daphene. I'm very proud that you got up the nerve to be yourself.

That takes courage, and conviction, and self confidence, and you, my dear, have all three.

Good for you! I can;t wait until you've put a couple of outfits together, gotten yourself a nice wig, and can go

out in the world as Daphene. That will really be a day to remember, as this one was.

Way to go, girl. Thanks for posting this. It made me smile. :D

I am so happy for you Daphene. What an exciting and positive experience you had. This is something I have yet to do and I have several Wallmarts close by in which I can do so. It's developing that confidence to go out and just do it like you did. Thank you. :-)

Hugs,

Suzie

Dear Daphene,

Good for you girl,if you can pull this off at wallmart you can do it any where. I feel tension just handling stuff at wallmart.

Your confidence and togetherness of who you are is emerging nicely. Thank you very much for telling us about your shopping trip. For more experienced members it might be no big deal, but for the lesser experienced crowd like my self, even though it seems huge you proved to us it can be done. Thank you so much.

Best Wishes for you and your wife

Love, Chandra
