I Just Sent An Email Outing Myself To A Non Care Provider

Hi,

I just couldn't make the title say what I want so if you feel mislead I am sorry. :-)

I am interested in returning to my former university in the fall of 2011 for my RLT and senior year. It is an evangelical Christian campus and I don't want to buck the grain in an unfriendly environment that important first year and so I outed myself to my former and hopefully future professor so I could get her opinion on the matter. She also held a position on the acceptance advisory panel so she has insight there as well.

I am a product of their religious teachings and otherwise and I haven't changed my views because of my new reality. I am fairly confident all will be good.

Emily,

I read that college is the best place to transition and do your RLT/RLE.

That way by the time you graduate,all there will be is Emily. All your

transcripts and diploma will be in your real name. Starting a brand new

life as a woman and only a woman,will be very rewarding.

Hey everyone,

I worried that my original email was blocked by a spam filter so I reworded my email and sent it again last night.

I just checked my email and her reply was there. Elizabeth your confidence was well placed. She didn't believe it would be an issue especially if I presented well. She felt so much time had passed no one but herself would remember me. She is going to talk to someone in admissions and a Professor of S.W. and get their thoughts.

She gave me some heads up on taking classes that would transfer and a change of policy that is in my favor. old polic. Junior standing only four year institution credits would transfer. New policy 200 level and below community college credits transfer 300 level and higher require four year institution.

This is perfect for me because I have completed 90%of my upper division requirements and only lack the electives which are generally lower 200 level classes

I can't scream YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loud enough to express my overflowing joy

Great news, Emily! Going back to school when you want to be there can be a great thing. If the school is open to you as well, that is just a bonus. Have fun!
