What kind of game is Lotro?

Lord of the Rings Online is a MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online game) I don't know the population but the big dog in the yard is World of Warcraft (11 million people world wide play it) bascially you play with people from all over the world, and obviously LotRO is based in the Lord of the Rings universe.

Thanks for asking about that, Geo...

I had no idea what it was ....

For years I was a big fan of AOE (Age of Empires)....

Don't play anymore...Too many other things going on!

HUGGS!

Just for everyones information now, even though I no longer play this game, I've read that Turbine (the developers of it) have or are going to make Lotro Free to Play really soon (if not already). So once you buy the game you can keep playing without paying monthly or anything like that. :)

The key to free MMO's is the item shop and micro-transactions. In order to keep up you must purchase the better weapons and armor. It's not necessary but research has shown it is very profitable. As a matter of fact one of Turbine's other games "Dungeons and Dragons Online" was saved when they changed their pricing model from a monthly subscription to micro-transactions.

BTW I have played LOTRO but found it too similar to WoW (played off and on since launch) so got bored with it. The game I'm playing now is Starcraft II, although I'm not very good at it.
