I'm not transgender, nor do I plan on transitioning, but I am amazed at how males are able to speak and sound female.

So, I've decided to start practicing on finding my voice, but realized there really isn't that much info on the web. I've pretty much seen all the videos about mtf voices and read all

the material on the web, but still not giving me enough information, so I came to this place to ask for your help.

I've managed to find the right pitch for my female voice, but it has some chest resonance in it making it sound male.

I've read about bringing my adams apple upward and then backward, but I'm not quite sure about how to accomplish that.

Could anyone please explain to me what i can do?

also, could you please tell me what you did to achieve your female voice?

OK, Anthony, I am going to make this simple.

Nothing about moving your Adam's apple or positioning of your tongue or anything technical.

Here it is because if you try to consciously make such minute adjustments you will over do them and it will sound all wrong.

Imagine that the sound is actually coming from the tip of your nose and not your mouth, speak a little slower, allow the S's to become slightly sibilant (not quite a lisp) and allow your voice to rise and fall with what you are saying - that's it just allow yourself to do it - don't try to force it and never ever stop to think about where your Adam's apple is - just forget about it.

OK, sounds simple doesn't it - that is because it is.

Some people add an accent to make it easier but it really isn't necessary.

Hate to be a killjoy. But you do realize that this is a support site for transgendered people? I do need to point out that the rules section clearly states:

If in fact you are certain that you are not transgendered, I'm afraid that you have joined this forum in error.

If you feel that you have not joined this forum in error you may wish to check to be certiain exactly what the definition of transgenderism actually is or describe the purpose for which you would want to know the answer to your question. Barring either of those I'm afraid your question would be outside the rules of the site.

Hello Anthony and welcome to the Playground!

I an not transsexual or planning to transition but developing my female voice is an important way I am able to express my female self. After 13 months my new voice is becoming quite natural to me and I can switch between it and my old voice depending on how I chose to present myself. There are many places along the gender spectrum and although you may not consider yourself transgender, I think it is wonderful that you have decided to explore this aspect of your female self.
