I decided to put this under games and gaming since it seemed like the most closely associated thing.

I don't think anyone else was there other than a couple of people I know that may be on here or is... But I had a great weekend!

(Me and mah sis. :3 )

Anyone have some pictures to share or stories? Anyone else go to other anime cons?

Yay fun excuse to crossdress and wear man-pants! ^.^

Never been to an anime con, but I'd love to go sometime soon and get my cosplay on ;).

Nice Cloud getup, by the way. I especially like the hair and the shades ^^. Although, I must say, I didn't really care for Advent Children....(gasp)

*GASP*

Eh, that's okay. T.T Did you ever play the game? The movie gets sort of overwhelming if you don't know much about FFVII- especially with all of the fight sequences I must say. x.x They just released an "Advent Children complete" dvd with 30 extra minutes (hoping it isn't more fighting, lol).

Thanks for the compliment. ^.^

Carden- AWESOME cosplay! Yes, crossplay iz amazin'. ^.^ Great excuse for us weird people to crossdress. >.> I haven't played Persona 3 but I'm in to Persona 4. I remember being told about Minato though by one of my obsessive game friends. Nice job! ^.^

Crossplay hug! *hug*

Yes, I first played FFVII back when I was about 14, I think. Not surprisingly, it just made me angstier haha :). Still...I've played it through to completion three or four times, and I think it's one of the greatest RPGs of all time. It definitely played a big part in shaping who I am today :).

I remember way back when, I used to love dressing up Cloud and traipsing around Corneo's mansion...look where that led me lol!

Cloud: "I'll cut them off."

Tifa: "I'll rip them off."

Aeris: "I'll smash them."

XD

Thanks.

Persona 4 is awesome. Not quite as good as 3, in my opinion, but it is fun none the less.

Also, on Cloud is that a wig or your natural hair? It looks really good either way!

I love Advent Children but yes, it is a total fan service movie. Not really meant to be 'quality'. (But the graphics are so pretty!!)

Sometimes I wonder how far they can stretch the continuum of the FFVII timeline and plot to make more games for it. o.0 I mean, it's a good story, but... like... don't frikkin' KILL the poor thing! I heard they're coming out with a new Turk game where you can make your own turk- so I heard at con from Reno... >.>

Actually that's my annoying natural hair color but it is a wig that I bs-ed on styling as well as my sister's. >< Didn't have enough time. I had another one but it started getting fuzzy- then I started restyling it and it turned out like a Sora wig but blond. ><

Honestly I think my favorite Final Fantasy is FFX. I ADORE FFX. I grew up with a demo of VIII though, so that gave me good memories too. Honestly, I can barely get through VII cuz I can't handle the pixely-ness. T.T

A turk game? Hmm could be interesting. I liked CC and DOC ... only DOC was a little too cut scene oriented.

They do beat that game to death with spin offs. Dang money grabs.

Hahah, Sora wig. XD Do you liek Roxas or Sora better?

FFX was cool. Didn't play much of it but it was fun. I like eight and two the most though. Squall *swoons*.

Yeah, the graphics were pretty ... choppy ... hahaha.

Awesomeness! And nice sword. :D

I dug advent children and FFVII, but I thought VIII was better. My favorite is either tactics or IV.

Guest Ashley C.

Oh, Tactics and IV are both wonderful. I'm definitely most partial to VIII and VII, though. If Square-Enix made a "make your own Turk" game, I would definitely buy it, money-grabbing be damned lol....I always loved the weird dynamic between your party and the Turks in FFVII.

But yes, Squall....*swoon* hehe.

Carden: I'm thinking of doing Dissidia Squall next. ^.^ Hmm... idk which I like more... I sort of like both Roxas and Sora for different reasons... Riku all the way. >3

I really can't wait until I have some time to dig into VIII for real. Uuuugh all of these games I need to play... ><!!!

I mean, I REALLY have been waiting to play VIII like crazy... I started but never finished.

Squall-dissidia.jpg

Dissidia Squall ftw!

I hear IV is like the best, but idk- what's it like? I'm honestly not into the old-school retro magic stuff anymore- I feel like I need to play games that stray from the mages and whatnot. Unfortunately I heard Tactics was also good put I played the Advanced version and it SUUUUCKED. I could not finish it. It was TERRIBLE. T.T I mean, it was good for the first hour or so... I suppose...

They have a game on the ipod called "Song Summoner" that's just like it, seriously. XD

Cool idea though- turning your songs on your playlists into warriors.

Now guys... if I cosplay Dissidia Squall you guys aren't gonna swoon over me, are ya? o.0 No, not more fangirls!

AAAAAaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!thepilehasswallowedmewholeheeeelllp......

Fangirls actually made me homophobic for a year once... o.0 Lol not anymore though... >.>

okay... I was at my first anime con, playing my DS when these sailor scout cosplayers came up to me and the sailor moon cosplayer asked: "Will you be our sailor jupiter? our old one is sick back at the hotel."

"Uh... no thanks..." then I left toward the front where the registration line was... I saw my friends in their place in line... just waiting to register, then I heard: "Get him!" From behind me and I somersaulted behind, rolling right under the Sailor moon cosplayer as she jumped forward... all the other sailor scouts jumped too and they piled on top of each other and I got away... then they started chasing me and they tried cutting me off a few times. they must've needed me badly... they had every single sailor scout after me except jupiter and we ran around the convention center about 7-8 times... I was getting tired, I tried a desperate ploy to ditch into the boys washroom but I went into the girls washroom instead... they got me and they did me up (wish I had pics :C) and fortunately I noticed the Sailor Venus cosplayer slip something into my jeans back pocket while I was changing, but when I changed back, I checked it and there was a hundred dollar Bill, After that day I found the cosplayer again on the final day (I was cosplaying as Bartz Klauser from dissidia and she was lust from Fullmetal Alchemist) and thanked her...

so what do you think?

:o Cosplayers are a crazy bunch. XDD Hence why I am one of them.

Hundred bucks? Nice mate! You buy some wicked anime stuff with it? Love the big dealer rooms all the cons have.

You must have been a pretty good Jupiter too.

Sweet story.

0.o Holy crap dude. YOU'VE BEEN CONVERTED INTO A MALE STRIPPER. XDDD That's really awesome though. Sounds like this one cat guy at con a couple of years ago that was SOOOO AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL-SEXY that EVERYONE wanted his picture and chased him around con. They chased him up a tree... 3: Poor kitty.

I'll share a story! A picture is worth 1,000 words...

Your turn for a story! ^.^

Hahaha. Chased someone up a tree? Intense!

Free hugs FTW!!

Hmm, two years ago I cosplayed as Zelos Wilder from Tales of Symphonia. Apparently a lot of people like Zelos. so, I was standing in front of the convention centre, posing and people were taking my picture. Normal. Then out of no where a sexed up female Genesis (Final Fantasy) glomped me from behind and started kissing me. Scared me half to death because I wasn't expecting it. The funny part was that for the remainder of the Con I would just be walking and people would run up to me and start discussing GenesisxZelos pairings. XD

I was amused. And made a friend. XD Though, I did have to buy some mouth wash, felt kind of violated.

Wooooooow... XD That's so great. *tear* I love cosplay stories... People have glomped me, stalked me, and dragged me into a yaoi shoot but thank goodness I have not yet been violated or undressed in a bathroom. XD

...one of my stalkers met me in the bathroom once though... >.>

There was this little girl who dressed up as Lucy from Elfen Leid. She was SOOOOO SWEEET and adorable. I think she may have been between 9-12 years old? She loved Cloud and we took a picture together. <3

Oh yeah, I forgot,    @awkward-yet-sweetwhen your husband finally breaks down and decides to replace the stoves I agree a single professional stove even out of a defunct restaurant might well be the way to go when cooking for all those kids and adults. Certainly better that the situation you describe.  Or maybe from a used restaurant supply where they have professionally cleaned and refurbished it.

Wow, yesterday was a very active day.     @Birdie I hope they figure out where that’s coming from and get you heeled quickly. That it’s nothing serious.  Maybe going to the day care with a purewick will finally convince them to change their attitude.   @MaeBe  especially if you believe you are about to loose your job anyway, what’s to keep you in Minnesota ?  This could be a wonderful thing for all of you Washington State can be wet but it’s really not as bad as it’s made out to be.  If you are west of the cascades it is relatively mild not like MN in the winter time.  And east of the cascades it’s rather desert like around Yakima.     New car shopping can be fun but it can be very stressful too.  We talked about it over lunch yesterday. Strange thing is she kept coming back to the old Ford.  My response was instead of two car payments there woul only be one although I would expect it to be a little higher, but not nearly what two would add up .  Plus I wouldn’t have to continue working as long with only one as when I get the other things paid off I know we can live without me working.  Unless of course, the congress decides to mess with social security.  Right now I have three vehicles I want to look at two are at one dealer and the third at another.  All three are GMs two are newer with lower mileage but are also lower end on the GM line.  The third which is the one that most interests me is a Cadillac.  Let’s see there is a song from way back about a Cadillac and a Hot Rod Lincoln comes to mind.  Anyway it is an XT-5. I get my room and comfort, she gets her nice appointments and the ford hopefully will hang on as a spare for those occasions when we need a second car for me to go to work and for her to do ??  The downside is it has just under 80,000 miles and is a 2020 so in that regard we are slipping backwards from a 2022 with 25000  but going from a sub-compact to a mid-size.  The other two are a compact and a Midsize but neither would provide the expected comfort and features of the Cadillac.  The biggest of which are the pedals that would adjust and the seat adjustments. (My wife is 4’ 10” and I am 5’8” since my spine has shrunk.  The Caddy also has the lane safety as well as front and rear collision warning.  The mileage will go down and the engine requires higher octane gas but that won’t be too much of a drag since we can go to Murphy USA where I work or to Costco which isn’t that far away. 10 miles.  And it’s better than the Ford!   I guess we will see how this plays out later.   Willow

Two things amaze me, One how fast short haired dogs dry. Two how did you keep from loosing your glasses? I'm glad you wear a life jacket while kayaking even on smooth waters such as ponds or lakes. I'm guessing you learned a few things about landing and exiting the kayak.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Aside from the X-Files, Gilmore Girls is easily my favorite TV show. I originally watched the original airing in the commuter lounge at my college starting in 2000 because I was embarrassed to watch it at home when I living as a man. Now that I am out and transitioned, I watch it openly and wear Gilmore Girls t-shirts at work on days that I wear a skirt. For Valentine’s Day, my wife bought me the DVD’s. Yesterday I had to stay at work late because of an IT problem (I am not IT so I just had to make sure the pump stations telemetry was functioning properly before I could leave, IT did the actual work) and so I watched it on Netflix. Lorelai Gilmore inspired me to change my name to Lorelei. Yes, I picked a more traditional spelling on the name. The mother daughter interaction between them is heartwarming and sometimes hilarious. Last week I just started rewatching it again. Ironically I relate most to Luke, very rare as I almost always relate to a female character. Anyone else here love the show?

Good morning everyone,   @Birdie continued prayers for you as they figure thing out. I'm glad you're being properly cared for.   @April Marie I love the pageantry of the Kentucky Derby the bright dresses, and fascinating hats worn by the ladies. As for the mint juleps... I'll pass, they're just to aromatic for me.  We'll be watching "The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports" as well.   @Adrianna Danielle & @awkward-yet-sweet it is amazing how a new stove seems to cook food better. Cooking for 36 people is a phenomenal task, and if you're doing it on anything less than a professional cook stove. You're preforming miracles, and I wish you the best.   My yard work is done for the day, because I don't have to wait until Saturday to do it. I'm getting use to this mostly retired situation. The windows and doors have been open since I first got up and the yard is full of bird songs. I have the best neighbors because they don't start their noisy yard work until very late morning or early afternoon.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I took an involuntary swim wearing my quick dry hiking pants and shirt. Lifejacket not shown but present on the rock I am sitting on. Watson is dry now but I am still soaked. I capsized my kayak 5 feet from the shore trying to land on an island. Water in the pond was surprisingly warm considering it is early may in upstate New York.

@Birdie best of luck to you, my friend.   @MaeBe, nothing ventured, nothing gained! Good luck!

We had a German Shepheard/Lab cross! It was actually our son's dog but when he moved out, Axel stayed here. ❤️ He was soooo awesome! Totally goofy, but really smart, and a million percent lovable. Unfortunately, he didn't even get to see his fifth birthday. 😢 He did both hind knees in quick succession, which were repaired, but he re-injured one and it wasn't repairable. The grief we went through after we made that horrible decision was far worse than anything we have ever experienced before or after.    @Ashley0616, please be gentle with his joints until he is all grown up!   This pic is when he was still a puppy.
