Wal Mart $4 Prescription Plan

Well, gang........

I recently lost my health insurance. So, I went to my doctor Wed. and asked her to rewrite my meds for generic so I could take advantage of the Wal Mart $4 per prescription plan...

My 3 HRT meds were on the plan so I expected to pay $12 for the month...

Ok, here's the math:

Let's say that one pill that I take is 112mg. I take one per day....cool.

But, Wal Mart doesn't offer this pill in 112mg. They offer it in 28mg on this $4 plan.

So, My doctor wrote it up for 4x28mg so I would be taking the same dose per day.....cool.

Well, Wal Mart considers one pill per day one prescription.

So if I need to take 4 per day, that's 4 prescriptions ...

Therefore 4x$4=$16.....Ah Ha!

OK..one plus on this plan is if you have one $4 prescription...that is for one month.

That would $12 for 3 months...

But, if you take 3 months worth it's only $10....saves $2....

I hope that I didn't confuse anyone with the math part...

(it confused me!)

HUGGS!

Hi Dee Jay,

Sorry to hear of this on top of everything else happening to you. I was hoping to perhaps do something similar for meds, assuming that my therapist decides to approve HRT.

Transitioning is like a strange dance - two steps forward, one step back. One step forward, three steps back. Four steps forward, twirl and lose your balance, etc. etc.

Hugs!

Hey, Opal.....

Actually it turned out to be a good thing...

My meds turned out to 1/2 the price of my insurance co-pay!

Go figure...

I just want to post about this so everyone would be aware!

Good luck with your GT and your HRT!

Huggs

Reminds me of a story my dad would tell of how it would ice up and it was impossible to walk to school. "One step forward and slide two feet back," he'd explain.

"Dad," I'd say innocent and naive, "How did you ever get to school?"

He would grin and say, "Simple! We would turn around and try to go home."

Since it is Father's Day coming up, I thought this was appropriate!

He died 1992 - and he was not such a bad dude after all - seemed he was soooo much wiser the older I got, past age 18.

Fred Meyers has the same for on their $4 prescription plan. It is costing me 4x for one med and 2x the other plus that wonderful stuff called TAX but still better than insurance co-pay and even better that insurance doesnt find out yet.

I HATE DRUG COMPANIES, I HOPE THEY ALL CHOKE ON THEIR OWN PILLS......

But I hope everyone here has a great day and has many smiles today

Luv Nadine :P :P :P :P :P

Yes I save around $84 a month on my hormones by having the doctor write it in the Walmart dose sizes - it does make for a fist full of pills each day - but I don't mind at all.

Love ya,

Sally
