Back when I used pads and tampons my mom knew my cycle almost exactly, and it was really embarrassing. Now I use the DivaCup and other than cramping for a day or two before, it's like I don't even get my period, which is cool, and my mom doesn't ask about it anymore. Whenever I get cramps now, I can just say I have a headache and she doesn't even suspect ^_^

Yeah, at least that wouldn't stain. =( I get so paranoid about staining my sheets I wrap a towel around my waist before I go to bed. Not to mention all the accidents I've had that have gotten it showing through my pants... that's the worst... I was so lucky several times that I had been wearing a sweater that I could tie around my waist.

I used to stain my sheets a lot. Now I don't but I do stain my underwear :( It's annoying. I still wear underwear from the girl section (well because pads fit them better then men's underwear for obvious reasons). I am so paranoid at night when I go to bed that I have to lay on my stomach. Which is hard to do because A) it hurts and B) I sleep on a love seat <_<

Putting hydrogen peroxide on the clothes or sheets before you wash them will take the blood right out and not leave a stain.

I didn't know that!! I am going to keep that tip in my head for next time :)

I have never heard of Bob or Tom.

But ive heard of Aunt Flo.

or my favorite "gettin shot" LOL

my way of dealing with it:

cursing.

lots and lots of cursing..

Aw *hugs*

I don't use either pads of tampons. I'm so ashamed and Dysphoric I've hidden it completely from my family. I've found a solution using toilet paper. Sometimes paper towels. It's not the most efficient, but it works enough. The hard part was finding the right way to do it. The 1st thing I tried involved Duct tape. I still can't do much as far as leaving my apartment during that week. It's ruined my life.

:(

Awesome!! I'll keep you in mind tomorrow. :)

I didn't go. I will go tomorrow and have it done. But it's so cool!! The prescription came with the um stuff that shots are injected with :P But I don't know how to do it so I am going to go in. Maybe they can teach me how to do it myself so that way I don't have to walk there just to be in there for a few minutes

I used toilet paper for a about a year before my mom discovered I had actually started having my period. I... am glad I don't do that anymore. I just had to use so much for what it did, and no matter how I arranged it I'd usually managed to mess up my underwear, which is how my mom eventually found out, as I hid the pairs of underwear under my mattress. =( I still won't go buy tampons though, even after almost a year away from home going college and many years of "Tom." I keep making my mom buy them for me...

And I thought I was the only adult that still made the parental units buy the 'supplies', pre-T that is. I had to tell my parents because mine was so relentlessly heavy that even with a tampon and a pad, I'd have stains on the back of my pants every time. I had cramps so bad that I'd feel like I'd rather have had the flu. Bedridden for eight days, rolling in pain, going through six sets of sheets... good grief I'm glad I don't have that anymore.

-BC

I hate buying them. I try and make other people do it for me. I don't like to buy them and I don't pass 100% so it makes it worse for me :(

I hate it too :(

I think that we all hate it :(

*hugs*

I've only had to buy my own once. That one time was awful.... I actually turned all red and started shaking. It made me so self-conscious... so humiliating. I kept thinking "I wish I had to buy condoms instead." LOL

Man, I can't imagine using toilet paper! Tampons for me. I was considering trying diva cups, but I haven't actually gotten my period for 4 months...starting to wonder if I should see a doctor or something. 3 is the longest it's ever been before. (Obviously, I am not on hormones atm.)

I've never heard anyone call it "Tom" before but I think I like it.

So I looked up diva cups on wikipedia cuz I didn't know what they were... and walked away with "problem solved!" after reading "Soft, disposable menstrual cups may be worn during sex, though they are not contraceptive devices." LOL

*gets mind out of gutter*

I once when I had to run out and buy pads, I also picked up a couple boxs of condoms, a volley ball, bubbles (the blowy kind) and a crap tonne of candy. XD The cash lady was like 70 and gave me the most confused look. I don't think she noticed the pads because she had to ring in like 20 ring pops. :P

Strategy, man. Strategy.

There is a video on YouTube by College Humor about a guy buying condoms and he's gotta find "decoys" to buy. :P sounds just like that. but I would much rather buy condoms with no decoys at all than feminine hygiene products with decoys!! lol.

lol. I use the decoy thing as well when buying either items. If buying condoms I ALWAYS go some place with a u-scan so I don't have to deal with a checker B). Pads and tampons are never bought alone even if that is the only thing I need from the store. At least for me it is alot more embrassing to go buy those products while I am actually on my period and not much of a big deal to me if I am not. Stupid really, not like anyone but me knows if I am or not.

Those cup thing do NOT work well! The one time I tried it it leaked like crazy. Maybe I didn't have it in right, but it wasn't comfy, leaked, and I found it rather gross at the time that you have to stick a finger way up in there to get the thing in and out.

happy trans birthday! I can't speak personally on the subject, but I hope hormones bring you the changes you're looking for <3

That’s super healthy, to see that something that becomes common has less effect on you and that you are able to decipher these feelings.   Sadly, this trend tends to only deaden good feelings as we tend not to let bad feelings attenuate the same way.   I have noticed less euphoria, but still feel the dysphorias that I have. Sometimes the good sneaks in and reminds me, but often time it’s just me seeing myself in the mirror and being comfortable about what I see when embracing my realized self. I may not get the same buzz I once did, but I don’t feel incongruous when looking at a more “drab” reflection.    Wishing you strength, you are amazing!

Congratulations! and Happy Trans Birthday @LittleSam! That is such a BIG milestone.  I can still remember walking out of my clinic with my first HRT presciption.  I was on Cloud-9.  Wishing you all the best in the start of your new Journey!

Meet him at the being good to others part of Christianity. At the heart of it, there are excellent tenets of the faith. Those that condemn are judging, Jesus would have us be selfless; stone casting and all that. Are you a good person? Are you putting good into the world? If your gender is an issue for God, let God judge. In the mortal realm, let your actions be heard.

Let’s stick to cite-able fact. Most of my posts have been directly in relation to LGBTQ+ rights as it pertains to P2025 and I have drawn direct links between people, their quotes, and their agenda. I have made reference to the cronyism that P2025 would entail as well, by gutting, not cutting, broad swathes of government and replacing it with “conservative warriors” (I can get you the direct quote, but rest assured it’s a quote). All this does is constantly force the cogs to be refitted, not their movement. To say that agencies have directly defied a President is a bit much, the EPA did what Trump told them to do at the direct harm to the environment, the department of agriculture did the same by enacting the administrations forced move to KC which decimated the USDA.      How about Betsy DeVoss for Education? Or Bannon for anything? What about the revolving Chief of Staff position that Trump couldn’t stay filled? Or the Postmaster General, who did much to make the USPS worse?   Let’s not mix politics with racism, sexism, or any other ism. Because Trump made mainly white, male, appointments—many of them not, arguably, people fit for service—or unwilling to commit to term. I can argue this because, again, he’s up for election and will do what he did before (and more of the same, his words).   Please delineate how the selected diversity appointments have negatively affected the US, other than being black, women, or queer? Representation matters and America benefits when its people are inspired and empowered.

When I first started figuring things out, I got a lot more euphoria. Every time a friend would use he/they pronouns for me, I'd get this bubbly feeling, and seeing myself look masculine made me really happy. Dysphoric state felt more normal, so I guess I noticed the pain it caused me less.   Now, it's more just that my pronouns and such things feel natural, and dysphoria is a lot stronger -- I know what's natural, so experiencing the opposite is more jarring than everything. The problem is, most of my natural experiences are from friends, and I rarely get properly gendered by strangers, much less by my family. I've found myself unable to bind in months due to aches, colds,, and not wanting to risk damage.    It partially makes me want to go back to the beginning of my journey, because at least then I got full euphoria. I'm pretty sure it'll be like this until I medically transition, or at the very least get top surgery (you know all those trans dudes online with tiny chests? Not me, unfortunately). It's a bit depressing, but at least I know that, eventually, there's a way out of this.

Major mood, right here ^^^    I've listened to Lumineers to a long time (a major portion of it by osmosis via my mom), so that is almost painfully relatable

As for getting a button-up/formal pants suit, you can try to talk to her more -- Cis women in tuxes have worn tuxes in recent years, after all, (for example, Zendaya) so it can still be a relatively safe topic. For jumpsuits, I'd recommend going with a simple one with a blazer, if you can -- this'll make it look overall more masculine. There's a lot of good brands, but going for one without a lot of extra glitz on it will make it look less feminine under a blazer. I don't know many specific brands though since I usually just get my stuff from chain stores, sorry :<   When it comes to your hair, if you can't cut it, you can look up tutorials on fluffing it up instead. If you can pull it off, it can look a lot shorter and more androgynous instead!
