WESLEY CRUSHER?

Okay, I am really sorry, but my favorite moment in TNG was when Picard told Wesley to just shut up.

Agreed!

I think there's a youtube video of that just playing over and over.

It's so easy to for folks hate on Wesley...they just don't understand him the way I do.

Okay, I'm late to this, but as much as I appreciate TNG (I love me some Wesley Crusher!), I am and always will be a Kirk fan. I even like the new iteration of Kirk (the recent Trek reboot made me giddy). But Shatner? He was awesome sauce. As evidenced by this thread's title, I might add. Wrath of Khan wasn't just a great Trek film, it was an amazing film...great Sci Fi, great adventure, characters, acting, story. None of the other films even came close. They're installing new software at work called Genesis and I kept saying to my department chair, "You will give me the Genesis device!"

As we used to say back in the day, 'nuff said.

Awesome sauce? As in More Awesome than You -MATY- type awesome sauce?

He could do that though  He was his dad wasn't he? Whether Crusher knew it or not.

Sometimes "dad-ism" just leaks out lol. Fathers (that I've seen) often get more "ticked" and short on patience with sons they either see themselves "once" in or want to see far better than themselves in.

I have to admit, Captain Picard is my favorite captain but Captain Sisko is really, really close. Link to Sisko page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjamin_Sisko

I admired Sisko a lot, but Picard just had that air of authority that needn't be questioned ever.

No, Picard never had children but deep down he wanted them. Later in a unofficially written Star Trek book he did end up having a kid, though. Some people say he would be too old but that's not true. Human's in Star Trek have much longer lifespans due to a more healthy lifestyle and medical advances. With the exception of deaths in war, of course.

I kept hoping Picard would replace Number 1

That man was just too earnest and goody goody to live with.

Same, Picard is my favorite captain.

Picard was the reason Wesley's real father died, though. (I always found it interesting that Beverly Crusher and Picard were always hitting on each other and whatnot) I love the episode "Rascals" when Picard and a bunch of crewmembers get turned back into children.

Has anyone seen the vuvuzela button on youtube? If I am watching TNG on youtube, I press that whenever Wesley starts talking.

I must admit, 2009 Spock made me question my sexuality for a bit.

I'm not really in to any of the women from the 2009 film, actually, even though everyone was supposed to be portrayed by hot young actors and such.

Zoe Saldana is cute. But Zachary Quinto is very hot. He can mind meld with me anytime :D

I don't think I would let Zachary Quinto mind meld with me for the sole reason that he'd be scarred for life by looking inside my mind.

Quinto was ok. I actually didn't find any of the movies characters thrilling. I guess because of the HUGE plot hole and all around bad storyline that doesn't/shouldn't ever be connected to the original Star Trek sways my opinion on the movie all around. Not to mention how they fudged the characters ages even which really PO'd me...Oh yes and as for the ships, they called the Enterprise the flag ship which it was not dubbed the flag ship for much longer after that. Anyway, sorry, I wont go on.

I'll agree with that! I never much liked Deanna, she was far too whiny.

Nooo...well, I mean, yes Deanna (oh how I had a crush on her as a kid!) was kind of whiny...

But she got better! After the neckline on her uniform went up and took her IQ along with it, she became competent and overall just pretty awesomesauce. She was significantly less awesome, although equally as hot, when her character was just walking cleavage.

And Picard is still the only true Captain!

My apologies for saying earlier that I'd be in the minority with DS9 as my fav.

It is so often overlooked and I'm used to the "Oh yeah, wasn't that the one on a space station or something. Not real Star Trek with no ship"

Thanks for reaffirming my faith in fellow Trekkies!

DS9 did have a ship in the latter years. The USS Defiant

Reminded me of The Enterprise Incident where Spock 'kills' Kirk who's pretending to be insane in order to steal the Romulan cloaking device without getting everyone else into trouble. Good ep. ^_^

Ummm...I hate to say it, but one Captain James Tiberius Kirk (as portrayed by William Shatner) is the first and greatest captain. At least he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty.
