Vitamins, Dieting And Lose Skin

well... i have been dieting for roughly a year, used to be 280-300 pounds( unsure witch just know i was way up there) now i am down to 205-215(it jumps around a little) of coarse upon starting my diet i cut calories to 1500 and have been at it for a year now.

diet( i try to keep all condiments vary low)

-breakfast, changes between

ceriel

toast

blueberry Eggo waffles

rare occasions eggs toast and bacon

-lunch changes between

salad's with french or vinaigrette dressing( sometimes meat and croutons are thrown in) (most the time its plan lettuce with veggies)

single piece of chicken

soup's

-dinner changes a lot

soup's

salads /w meat( normally a piece of deli Tucky

meats -steaks(normally accompanied with a backed potato, hamburgers(most the time just spices with no cheese) chicken(sometimes BBQ, or spicy)

pastas - specialties /w meat sauce

rare occasions dimminos pizza, (i know vary vary bad, but i cant help coming home during dinner and finding a nice hot pizza and not have 1-3slices)

-snacks

reduced fat original flavor wheat thins (snack of choice for me)

chips (normally plan)

about once a week, ice cream

-drinks( finally was able to cut out my 6 diet sodas a day)

orange juice 1-2 8oz glasses

kool aid(with out added sugars) 1-3 8oz glasses

rest of the day is plan water

i try to cut out as much of the condiments as possible, i almost never add salt to anything, and i only eat over the serving size as labeled on the package if i am below my 1500 calories for the day.

now i am at a point were my weight is really not shifting at all i dont gain i dont lose, so i started doing excersies, i have yet to see results.

my excersies include 20min of cardio 3-4 times a week, and ab crunches with some pull ups/push ups and a tiny bit of kickboxing thrown in.

expectations(things i want to achieve)

1) achieve a thin wast/figure

2) be 170 pounds

3) not look like i have skin dangling on me

____

for the skin dangling part... near my arm pit i can literally see about an inch of just dangling skin, i assume there is some fat in it since its about a haft inch thick.

i am desperately trying to lose it it looks horrible and makes my arms look huge when i put them against my sides.

no clue what caused it, could be weight loss, could be muscle loss.

_____

* recently learned i am below my bmi for being 22years old, 210pounds, and 5'10 height*

i recently found out that i am about 300-400 calories below my bmi

wonder if that's why i am not loosing weight?

_____

vitamins

OK so i have never in my hole life taken any vitamins or supplements.

so i know nothing about them, and what to take, i have done research, but i would prefer opinions over just knowing what dose what.

i have also heard that some vitamins speed up metabolism i just haven't heard what ones do it yet...

__

so any advice on if i am doing what i should or knowledge on what to change to get my weight to drop again? also any info on if i should take vitamins or not would be helpful.

Sounds like you need more fruit! Are you eating every 3 hours? That'll help 'train' your metabolism.

Thats about all I can add <3

Amanda let me first say Congrats on that much wieght loss. Cutting your calorie intake down to 1500 per day is good. I don't know what more you can do on that end other than look at the fat intake. I try to eat between 15 and 20 grams of fat a day.

On your arms, I would just get some weights and tone them up. It will take a while to do but you can get there.

I take 2 womens multi vitamins a day. I got them at vitamin world in the mall. You can get them pretty much anywhere though.

Good Luck losing the rest of your goal weight.

i eat a lot of fruit when it is actually around.... i love fruit and nuts of all types... i could easily live off just fruit and nuts alone lol,

most the time my fruit and nut supply's only last a few days after groshry shopping, and due to the costs of what it would take to keep them around all the time, i would end up spending 4 times more on fruit and nuts then i would the rest of the grocery's

ya my poor arms have been feeling the burn lately with the pull ups, but do you recommend any excersies for them?

also, what do malti vitamins do for you? i always thought vitamins were only to be taken if you were not getting your daily needs.

If you keep working and don't get down, it will happen. What you've accomplished so far is pretty amazing in one year and nobody can ever take that from you even if you plateau for a while. You're an inspiration.

Patience young one.

You have lost a great deal of weight, roughly 90 lbs in a year. I would suggest you try doing an exercise routine, preferably with strength training and cardio. The exercise should help resolve the extra skin issue (though it may take a while and not completely cure it) and muscle burns more calories than fat.

It seems like you really don't want to bulk, but if you do 15+ repetitions per set and superset lifts you should tone and not build. Also, if you are doing cardio work for 20+ minutes, 5 days a week, like running or biking, that should help catabolize unneeded skeletal muscle while improving cardiovascular fitness, and cleaning out the lymphatic system (reducing bloating and toxins).

One myth that many women encounter is that strength training will bulk them up in unwanted ways. The truth is that strength training is more effective at weight loss than cardiovascular exercise (but best in combination). When you train your glycogen stores, depleted and you introduce micro-trauma into the muscles, and activate adipose catabolic enzymes. All of this adds up to your body spending hours, especially sleeping and resting, to recover, and thus using more energy for said activities.

Hope that helps,

Amy

well i kinda already do a massive amount of lifting, my job is unloading trucks at work... so i get to physically pick up and move everything from mini fridges to oil, to 55 inch tv's. i wind up moving roughly 2-5000 pieces of fright just getting it off the truck and separated, then wind up walking all over the walmart to deliver it to the correct departments.

i nicknamed my job "bootcamp" because that's what i have also been doing for the past year. and to put my body threw more punishment, i do run/jog 20min 4-5times a week, and do something called a bombshell body work out which i do roughly 4 days a week.

and yet i still am at 210, i got no clue how lol

I wouldn't do too many pull ups because it will gain muscle in your arms unless you want to have bigger arms. I would get maybe a 5 pound dumb bell and just keep working your arms out with that. You will have to do alot more reps but it won't build the muscle as much.

I take the vitamins because I don't eat as healthy as I should. I also take them because it was recommended to me by my doctor.

I can't add anything about the weight loss ...I'm 5' 7" and change and 148lbs...

But I DO want to say that I have to admire your determination ad sticktoitiveness that you've shown in your quest.

I'm confident that you'll meet your goal with a will like you seem to have!

Good luck, Baby!

Your weight isn't the only measure of how fit you are. Muscle mass weighs more than fat. So if you are doing a lot of heavy lifting, undoubtedly you are stronger. IMO the eye test is the best way to see how fit you are.

ya my GT told me a few weeks ago that if i wanted to slim down more i would have to quit my job or get a different one

what exacly is an eye test? would it be just looking at myself and seeing if i have a lot of muscle?

oh uhh also, the main thing i am trying to get ride of is the tiny bit of tummy i got left. you can only realy see it from the front and even then it could easaly just be some loose skin that hasent done down yet, but when i shake that area it all wigles around so i assume its fat, and t he fact that my tummy sticks out neer my crock area about a quarter of a inch instead of being flat. so i am trying to lose enough weight so i can have it be flat from my chect to my pelvis area.

though i am thinking i will never achieve that goal.

Please realize that when the models you see doing this in adds and stuff are doing is flexing with all of their might after going through a week long starvation diet that also restricts water intake to make them look more cut.

Also realize that us MTFs need to add more muscle to the lower body to fill out our feminine form, which your job would work for. If you have well defined legs, a firm butt and strong abs you have two-thirds of your body accounting for weight in fairly dense and functional (and beautiful) muscle. I am sure you are much more beautiful than you think right now, as is the case with most women.

Good luck sweetie.

Good evening Blake.   Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums.   Best wishes, stay positive and motivated.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Thank you.    Trans men and trans women each have their own struggles for sure, but I agree, it can be a hard time to be a non-passing trans guy. There is no specific "man clothes" that only men wear. People could just think I'm butch (which sucks to think about, if people think I'm a lesbian when I'm a dude!!). I mean I would feel better if I got gendered correctly even if I don't fully pass, it would maybe raise my confidence to think maybe I do pass well lol! Instead I'm just reminded I don't.   Though I may just focus on the times I don't pass and ignore the times that I do. Because I rarely remember getting gendered correctly, but I hone in on the times that I don't.

Thank you, I'm glad to be here. :)   I have been in therapy for 9 years but still can't seem to accept myself. I think it has to do with growing up trans in a world that hates us, especially in the south. I mean I was discriminated against by adults and ostracized as a kid/teen due to being trans. My family is accepting, but the rest of the world is not. I realize now a lot of people are accepting (even unexpectedly, like my partner's conservative republican Trump-loving parents lol), but it feels like my brain is still in survival mode every time I exit the door. I am a very fearful person.   My body still may change over time, but it feels like I haven't met the same 'quota' (don't know the right word) that a majority of other trans guys have on far less time on T. Most trans guys pass easily 1-3yrs on T, I'm double that and still don't pass well except my voice.

Thank you. I am just used to seeing trans guys who pass at like... 6 months to 1 year, at the most 3 years. And I just don't meet the mark, all the way at 6 years. It is possible with time I will masculinize more, but it's frustrating when I'm "behind" and may never catch up. It threatens my mental health mostly, possibly my physical health if I'm visibly trans (though I don't ever go out alone).

Yeah, I am grieving the man I "should" have been. He will never exist, especially not in my youth. But I don't know how to healthily go about it instead of fixating on the life that could have been.

Sorry it took me a while to respond!    I would like to get to know you. :) I only have mental disabilities. Schizoaffective disorder, depression, and anxiety. The last two are severe and very treatment-resistant. I did have physical problems for some time, but it was caused by an antipsychotic medication (Invega). It basically crippled me, muscle weakness/fatigue, basically could barely walk (used mobility devices) and doctors were useless since they didn't suspect the medication I was on! I've finally ditched antipsychotics (hopefully for good, unless my symptoms come back). I usually don't share like this, especially in person, but hey, I'm anonymous. :)   I'm not expecting reciprocation at all btw, these things are personal. There is more to us than disabilities, so tell me about yourself if you still wanna talk!

thanks for the insight ... good to know things are being well thought-out ... it is no easy topic for sure, as many of us on here have been wrestling with this stuff for years and decades...

@KymmieLWOW! He is absolutely horrible! Definitely one of the worst boss's.
    • KymmieL
Well the boss is at it again. They misplaced a work order thinking I was the last one who had it, yesterday morning. I know where it is. Last thing I did with it was put it back on the counter. He accused me a couple times of having it last and put it somewhere. Come to find out, the other boss (his wife) had taken it. she put the work order paper in the recycle box.   Has he apologized about the accusations. He!! no. I am waiting for hadies to get frost bit.   So that was my morning.  But it is finally warming up here. currently 63 and windy.   Hugs, Kymmie

I am gender fluid, leaning heavily towards trans masc. My eldest is male and despite all the "stuff" we deal with with him (autism, speech delay, etc) I found him to be easy to raise. When my middle kid (female) was born, literally the first words out of my mouth were "I don't know how to raise a girl!" And I really felt I didn't know. She showed me. She's still showing me how to exist as comfortable and completely secure in her gender expression. It is entirely awe inspiring to see all three of them feel so settled in their bodies in ways that I never, ever felt or feel to this day.
    • Ashley0616
That sounded like an awesome opportunity to dress as your actual self. I have to say I'm a little jealous lol. I never got compliments from people and definitely haven't been kissed. I can imagine that part was still really nice and boosted your confidence.
