Coming Out To Grandma

i feel like i need to come out to my grandma i mean shes the one who raised me an since im living at home while going to college itll be kinda hard to do therapy w\o telling but i dont want to hurt her i need some advice

My advise would be to avoid using the term trans in any form. Just explain that you have a condition-sometimes using the term GID works-and that you hvae always had it. It is about your brain development and body development not a choice you need to make. Then you can start on the gender identity idea-I avoid references to sex at all unless asked. But I stress over and over that this is who I am-and have always been. I won't change-I'll still be me but happier and more at peace.

And this is not a whim or something that will go away. I've also pointed out things about myself that I realize showed who I truly was all along

Tha'ts what has worked or me. I haven't had any bad reactions but haven't told too many people.

It sometimes helps to write it all down first so you get your thoughts organized.
