Hi. I'm 25 years old ftm. I've been on T for about 6 months. Last thursday I inject as usual, and now in saturday, I check my blood pressure. It is 134/61. Is it in a normal range?

Thanks

Regards,

V

Normal BP is 120/80. So your systolic is high and your diastolic is low. As for what that means...ask your doc.

Too bad my doc is in bangkok. I'm living in indonesia. Its hard to find transgender doctor in my country.

How do you guys think if i go to a general doctor to check my health? I think I need it to make sure my blood pressure. But after 2 hours, my blood pressure was 117/62. Do I still need to check my health?

Thanks

Blood pressure readings can be all over the place, depending on a lot of things, like anxiety or physical exertion just prior to the reading. If you want a high reading, run up the stairs to your Doctor's office, then get it taken while you're worrying about it being too high. :D

The best thing is to take it often and you'll start to get a pattern. After you sort of figure out the pattern, take it at the same time each day. That will tell you if it's going up or down. A reading of 117/62 will get you a pat on the back of approval from any medical professional.

I wouldn't worry about any single reading, nor would I over-celebrate any single reading. Take it daily if you're concerned about it.

Blood pressure varies from person to person, but to help you understand a bit better,

Go HERE and check the chart they have on Blood Pressure. Its very helpful.

As others have said, there are a lot of factors to take into consideration when taking your blood pressure. I am a perfect example XD. I have anxiety about going to the doctor, and about getting my blood pressure taken, so I'm always extremely nervous and can feel my heart beating harder just because the cuff was put on my arm. My blood pressure readings come out elevated every time I get it taken at the doctors, but when I'm home and use my mom's cuff while nobody's around on a normal day, it's normal. It all depends.
