Anyone else here bothered about their height? Well I am. I really hate my height. I'm currently 19 years old and I only stand at 5'6". I really wish my height were at least 5'10". I guess my genetics can only go as far as my current height now since my dad stands at 5'7" and my mom at 4'11". I really do wish I were taller though.

Yes!! I am 20 and 5'6 1/2" My dad is about 5'10" so it makes me really angry to think that if I was born male, I coulda been his height.

Well, I'm not actually done growing taller for whatever weird reason there is. I still am. Although no matter how much I hope to reach 5'10", I never will.

How do you know you're not done growing taller? I'd like to find out for myself. Did you get x-rayed?

I'm 170 cm - not sure how much it is... 5'7''? It's weird, because when I was little, my doctor said that I was going to be reeeeeeally tall... But I just stopped for some reason.

I don't see a big problem with it, though... Some of my favourite musicians are as tall as me, so sometimes I even feel kind of cool :D

Yeah, my doc said when I was a baby that I was gonna be 5'8". I wish he was right <_<

Lelouch you do know you keep growing until your early 20's sometimes. Hopefully you will get another inch or two. I am 4 inches taller than my dad and 5 more than my mom. I wish now that I had their height because it would be so much easier finding girl clothes that fit properly.

Yeah I've heard that too. I'm hoping that if I get on T at 20 and start drinking protein shakes (if you look on bodybuilder.com they have a section where there are shakes that promote HGH -growth hormone) that I'll have some chance of getting a couple more inches. I would be ok with being 5'8"-5'9" - that's about average for a guy so it would be nice to be average. So that's what - 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches that I want to be able to gain.

So yeah I feel you on the height thing. I keep telling myself there's still hope...

Lads, that's not how it works. For children who are biologically female, the taller ones are generally more mature physically, and therefore more likely to start puberty earlier. Since one stops growing approximately one year after starting menstruation, the people who were taller biologically females as children are more likely to be shorter as adults. Basically what happens is that after menstruation starts, the increased estrogen starts to close off growth plates. So if you start puberty later, you have some extra prepubescent growing years. Unless, of course, your family is generally short, in which case you may just be short (this is called "familial short stature").

I can't link to the source for this because there are pictures of different stages of development. It's from USC's Adolescent Health Curriculum - Normal Growth and Development page.

yeah, see this is why I'm in denial lol. I've been the same height since I was 16 - so the last time my height changed was when I was around 16. And my hormone levels are a little off because I have PCOS so I'm hoping that means the signal to stop growing is also a little off and once I start T I can grow more. Probably all BS though

My doctor told me I hadn't grown out of my "Teen Body" yet when I had started T. I did start T after puberty but I still grew. I wouldn't of really noticed how much I grew if my family didn't keep making comments on how tall I looked and kept wanting to measure me. You CAN grow until your mid-twenties - it is possible. After starting puberty its not the end all. I don't know how it all works biologically because that's not my expertise but I do know its possible. A few of my family members have also said they grew a inch or two before they hit their mid-twenties as well.

Also, I am taller then my step dad. So manliness =/= tallness. I wouldn't be that worried, guys.

I'm not really sure what everyone is so worried about. Like I posted eariler I am only 4/8 but I acturaly like my height I like seeing all the different reactions I get from people (plus it messes with their minds on weather of not I'm a midget until they work up the curage to ask). And for anyone that didn't read my last post in this topic the answer to that question is yes. :D

I know female bodied people that grew past puberty, but they've been growing consistently... I haven't budged since I was 12 or 13, which is why I have mostly given up hope now that I'm 19.

So do you know if there's a chance of just growing again after many years of not doing so?

Also, how old were you with the T thing? I still LOOK young (like, I still look like a 12/13 year old also...), so maybe I also have a "teen body" and would grow taller with T. That would be so awesome.

I had my first T-shot December 04 2008 in the morning.

That's my thread I posted. :D

I don't know if you'll grow more or not. I started my "puberty" after everyone else did...I was very late. I was a fair height in school, not small not tall - just normal.

Having just had a good clearing out of the wardrobe... my arms have somehow grown 3" longer in the last 18 months whilst I remained the same height. o_O

I didn't think it was contagious. But now i'm having second thoughts.

would you like to climb a tree and eat a banana?
