I wanna start up a new blog. Kind of a daily/weekly journal type thing. Just something to document my thoughts and life lessons, as i begin my journey through my transition.

Ive had a blogger account before, but it wasnt really what i was lookin for. So i googled it, ( cool.gif )

all sorts of blogging platforms and services popped up.

Xanga, Tumblr, WordPress, LiveJournal, Blogger, and a lot more.

I kinda like the way Tumblr works, but i was wonderin what bloggin sites do yall think works well.

Or if there is one more highly recommended than another.

Wow, I wish I knew HTML o.o I'm horrible with that stuff, it's why I gave up on Myspace xD

I used to use LiveJournal way back when, but now I don't really... lots of ads these days, even if it is a free site, it's kind of awful. While it's useful to have an account to say... comment on things like fanfiction, I don't use it otherwise.

Dreamwidth is a lot like LiveJournal, but with less users and way less ads. You can also set it up to post to LJ and DW at once. I've never updated my DW, because I learned long ago from LJ I'm just not good at updating journals, but I follow a few people on there, and I like the formatting and such. It's good for text, if you plan on writing out long stories or perhaps just simple pictures.

I just recently made a Tumblr, and I'm really liking it. It's a great site for sharing pictures, vids, links, and quotes. And smaller amounts of text. I follow a few cool communities like "genderqueer" and a few interesting people and am highly entertained. But I don't update there either. I did however edit my theme... many of the themes allow you to change colors or options, and beyond that it's fairly easy to change the html code. My theme wanted everything to be lowercase so I just deleted those bits of codes.

Am I the only one that has never blogged anything before? I have no clue what you all are even talking about.

Nope, I've never blogged before either, I just know lots of people who do. =P

Yea the ads are what really turned me away from LJ. Tumblr is what i will probably end up with.

Aww, sorry to hear that Cowboy. I dislike bad weeks so much - they happen to me often.

I use Zymic and registered a sub-domain name, used FTP (Filezilla) to put up Wordpress content management system and then when and found what layout I wanted and used it as a quick blogging site - even has mobile support :D . It's a lot more work, but I think it's fun. I had a LiveJournal before, but really never used it past the first month. I've tried Blogger and Windows Livespaces, but I'm not fond of either. Never tried Tumblr though.

One thing you could do, since you know HTML, is get a cheap domain, and set up your own page however you want it as a blog. I'm running 2 websites right now, and I only get charged $9.95 monthly for the 2 domains. There is also a $6.95 package at my host that would probably work great if you're ust wanting to blog. Just an idea.

Yeah, if you know HTML (you'll want to know CSS too), why not make it yourself? If you have some skills with graphics and design, you'll have a lot more freedom than using one of these packages. And you'll have more fun if programming and building things is something you like. But otherwise, I would vote for WordPress.

Guess that is true and always an option. (i know some CSS and currently workin on my associates in web design). I guess i just wanted somethin where everything was pre-configured and all i had to do was write and post stuff since i already have alot of stuff to work on with school and finding a job. But its always an option. smile.gif

Out of all the major blogging sites, I liked WordPress the most. I think that you can customize the layout you choose in Blogspot, so you could think about that one, too. Same thing on LJ, but I don't really like it.

Thanks Davie! And don’t worry, I didn’t take it that way. It’s just such a big topic I can only hope to tackle it one bit at a time.

This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.
