Bilingual?

So who here speaks more than one language? I'm not fluent yet, but I'm currently learning Latin and Spanish. I know enough Spanish that I could get by until I found someone who spoke English if I was stranded in a Spanish speaking country. Latin is a little more difficult. But I'll end this with a not to see who knows what it means:

I am bilingual. I spent a couple of years living in Latin America in my younger days when I was somewhat less....oh how should I say this? Well, let's just say there was a time in my life that I did not do so well thinking things through...on the plus side, I have two great kids and speak Spanish fluently as a result...

Eh, i took a semester and a half of Spanish.

i know enough for simple sentences. but nothin to fancy.

I wouldn't say I'm fluent in Japanese, but I could probably carry on a (rather stilted) conversation if I had to. Unless the other person talked too fast and used too much slang, then forget about it.

I know lots of Spanish and took 2 years of Chinese (Mandarin). THAT is a hard language. I'm self-teaching myself German - which is pretty fun :-) and I was learning Russian...but really only remember things like "What?" "Excuse me" "How are you?"...simple stuff. I'm afraid my accent in all the languages is bad. :-)

When I married my wife 19 years ago, I spoke no Spanish nor her any English

She now can read and write English fluently

I have only learned enough Spanish to get by

I started to take spanish in High School but changed to a math class instead. I really should learn spanish since I live in Texas. There are so many spanish speaking people here.
