"ma'am"

My life has been so boring lately, so there's not much to talk about. I study 10 hours per day and I graduate in about 3 weeks.

I answered the phone today and it was a credit collector for my dad. I said he's not here, he's at work, and I took a message. Then the guy on the phone said "Thank you for your time, have a nice day, ma'am."

I was like O.o ......... Oh my goodness ........... oh, cool! I was surprised because I wasn't trying to sound female. That's the first time I've been ma'am'd on the phone in 10 years. I guess all my falsetto training is finally undoing the damage my trachea did. I'm still going to see the voice coach in town, but I think I'm on the right track and won't need many sessions. I just thought I'd share this small victory in my life because even small victories after months of nothing feel great.

that's great to hear :--) i've been ma'am'd on the phone too some weeks ago. when ever i try to speak formally my voice apparantly goes up, and i forgot to tell my name (which i normally always do) so i was also dazzled and happy when that happened!

grtz & hugs,

Sarah
