Trinidad

I don’t know if it has been mentioned here or not. Yesterday I was channel surfing while doing my exercises and came across a documentary on HBO called Trinidad. It was about the GRS going on in the Colorado town with Dr. Marci Bowers. It followed her and several other TS women who have gone to the area to start a recovery home for those going to Trinidad for surgery. They also did a lot of interviews with town folks about how they felt about having Trinidad known best for a place for transsexual surgery.

Hi Mia!

No, I have not seen it. I only have conventional TV, no satellite nor cable. This may be out on DVD. Dr. Bowers was Grand Marshal at the Colorado Springs Pride parade this year, plus she gave a couple of speeches at the event. A friend of mine plans to have her SRS with her.

Oh, I read your reply in your intro. There are several on here from Colorado. Micha is active, another Mia, and Kavex, plus others who check in from time to time.

Nice to have you on here and posting!

Huggs,

Opal

I think I did see this a while back. I had my own surgery with Marci a little over two years ago. Knowing the current state of things there now I have to wonder if there will someday be a movie about "San Mateo"? And I also wonder if anyone will care to follow up with all those interviews in a couple years from now to see what happened in Trinidad once they lost the best surgeon there. (IMHO)

Funny, when I was recovering in the Morning After House, Carol, the owner, stopped in and played a Discovery Health documentary on Trinidad and Marci for us. As the camera profiled the house it panned over the very living room we were sitting in, and the very TV we were watching the program on. That was a little surreal. LOL, I was looking around for the camera guy!

It felt like that scene in Spaceballs. "When does this happen in the movie?" "Now, sir, we're watching now now" "What happened to then?" "We passed then" "When?" "Just now" "When will then be now?" "Soon!"
