First, my faves then a plug for someone you may already know.

Male: Rory Gallagher. I'd add more but if you know the name there's no reason

Female: Tough one. Lydia Pense of Cold Blood. Sophia Ramos. Janis X 10.

Plug: Tucson's own Namoli Brennet. A TG singer/songwriter and incredible musician. She has a website that will give you a sample of her music and more.

I just missed her in concert and I've been kicking my tail since.

Honestly, I have so many...If one stands out above the rest though, I'm going to say it's Neil Diamond.

Kind of obvious looking at your name ^^ shilo is one of my favourite songs! thanks for reminding me about it..havn't listened to it for a long while.

Given your SN and the lyrics to that the song, Shilo that's a good pick. Neil's, Cherry, Cherry picks me up when I'm down and Lulu does a great version of his, The Boat That I Row and you can interpret the lyrics to that song as inspirational for some of us as well.

My favorite is a tie between Midnight (Crimson Glory) and Daniel Heiman (Lost Horizon). I'm a vocal range fanatic, and my favorite singers almost always have a crazy high extension to their voice. Midnight has a confirmed D2-G5 in full-voice, with an extension up to B5 in falsetto, and Daniel has G2-B♭5, with an extension up to E♭6 in falsetto! Midnight sings with such heart and soul, and Daniel sings with the most flawless technique I've ever heard from any singer!

Here's some close second favorites too:

Geddy Lee (Rush): C♯2 - B♭5

Jeff Buckley: G2 - B♭5, and up to G6 in falsetto.

Tony Harnell (TNT): F♯2 - A5

Dan Arlie (T-Ride): G♯1 - G5, and up to A5 in falsetto.

Cedric Bixler-Zavala (The Mars Volta): G2 - C6

King Diamond (Mercyful Fate): A1 - B4, and up to C♯6 in falsetto. (This range isn't entirely accurate, still notewatching his discography.)

Hope I'm not coming off too overbearing here, it's just something that interests me. :x

Wow! Not overbearing but intimidating to be sure. I envy your knowledge.

I have a record from the John Mayal Blues Breakers from back in the 60's that has a track of Stormy Monday where Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, and Jimmy Page are playing together. Talk about awesome guitar work.

Mayall, still going strong, showcased a lot of British blues talent before the Beatles hit big. His best work, Blues Alone is typical Mayall. Broken Wing and Catch That Train are timeless tracks. I don't know if he worked with the best blues picker of that era, Peter Green but I'm sure they crossed paths.

BB King once remarked that Green was the only blues player who could make him (BB) sweat. High praise indeed.

I saw BB live in '67 at the Fillmore with the Byrds and the Electric Flag. At the end of the show they announced that Mike Bloomfield and BB were going to jam for a bit and anyone was welcome to stay. It ended at 2 am and I was hooked on blues.

(I'm going to throw in a pitch for one of the greatest guitarists ever and a huge influence on the way guitar is played today, Big John Cippolina. To see him live was amazing. The 'Dead got all the attention but QSM, Moby Grape and the Flamin' Groovies were the best bands in SF in the '60's.)

I know I am replying too late but I love Daniel vocals too. I still did not grow up enough for Midnight - I need more tries for him. I hope you are still around here because I would like to contact you via PM but as a newcomer I still cannot. I have some singers to offer you as I see your point. I like high pitched vocals tooooooo...

Hands down favorite singer of all time. Warren Zevon. He's so much more than Warewolves of London and Lawyers, Guns and Money. But even if he wasn't those two kick toushy enough for any three musicians today. Heck, Kid Rock steals more riffs from Warren Zevon than any other musician. That might mean something if Kid Rock was any good....

A major contribution of music to civilisation is as a universal language. As long as it is well written and performed I will listen. I tend to have a fairly catholic taste in music and have favourites in several different genres. As a Scot I do love traditional Celtic music, but I am also a fan of rock, both soft and heavy metal. As an ex chorister, Ecclesiastical music runs in my veins. I think the only sound I can’t stand is rap.

Favourite performers include D.ick Gaughan (the only recipient of the double honours: Lifetime Achievement award and induction into the Traditional Music Hall of Fame). D.ick also does a considerable amount of his time supporting minorities, including Intersex people. If you haven’t heard of him check out YouTube.

Other performers who bridge traditional and modern ‘folk’ is Mary Chapin Carpenter and Emmy Lou Harris. In rock I listen to and have attended concerts featuring Metallica, Magnum and Bruce Springsteen. I tend to ignore labels, but under the heading of what is called ‘Classical’ music I listen to choral and orchestral works by Beethoven, Purcell, Händel Haydn, Mozart and John Rutter (modern composer). One group that defies labels is The Eagles (I could listen to Don Henley all day) :)

Oh my! Its nice to find another fan of Carpenter and Emmy Lou Harris. I adore both, along with the Eagles, and Purcell, Handel and Beethoven in the classics. I wish we could sit around and enjoy that music together.

Hi Amy,

I agree. I should have mentioned Freddie Mercury as he is another favourite of mine and sadly missed. His version of "Who wants to live forever" is a classic.

I am also pretty sure that several of them are folks who are "trans curious".  Sometimes folks who are trying to find their own identity, are attracted to trans folks or who are simply interested in the trans community.   There may also be some who wish to do us harm which is why ......... I've just learned to smile figuring "i'm on candid camera".   I'm sure many of our younger members never experienced that show so my age is showing.   Hugs,   Charlize

Most of those "guests" are web bots from China, Indonesia, France etc. looking us over. They are mostly benign.  All they can see or gain access to are the general forums.  Members should be careful not to post anything that could readily identify themselves such as real names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. They do not have access to our gallery, blogs or private messenger. They seem to haunt all forums. Not just us. I should add that they can make us known across the internet. That's how prospective members find us. Google would be a good example.

Heck I didn't even know they could go up that high! I just have a four burner and one to keep stuff warm. What kind of pies did you make?

That's all the matters.   Well me and the wife rode to Perkins for breakfast. As we were waiting for our food. Being it is Sunday There are a few gentleman in suits, my guess from church. I think to myself. I hope I never have to wear one of those monkey suits ever again. Now a nice dress maybe.   Hugs,   Kymmie

From time to time I've looked at 'Who Is Online" and I have consistently noticed that members are ALWAYS outnumbered by Guests by a wide margin, sometimes, like a minute ago, by more than a 10:1 margin.  I have never seen that before on an internet forum.  It can be explained partly by the nature of what this is, that it draws the curious and they are certainly welcome to read here, and to join, but it leaves me with a feeling of being in a fishbowl.  I wonder who ARE these people?  Donald Trump, is that you? Biden? Sinwar? Putin?  We can only guess.

So from time to time my brain gets a hold of information and puts it together with other information in weird way that get me thinking. I was reading about a nudes cruise that they are running out if Miami. It got me thinking that a transgendered person who is also a naturalist, has to be one of the most unlucky people alive. How does one manage that and does that ever come up? Not trying to make fun here, just genuinely curious. Things that make you go hmmmm....

No luck there, really. She's getting a signing bonus plus a little extra that I don't think would cover much in the way of the move, but it is something!   Oh my! I am glad to hear you're not passing anymore blood. I hope they figure it out soon! How distressing!   @April Marie @KymmieL @Mirrabooka @Willow @Justine76, thank you for the kind words and thoughts! We told our best friends last night. There were many tears. Now it's all about the work: selling the house (my wife's friend's son said he may want to buy it direct!), a job (a former employee of mine wants to bring me over to his company--and they're based outside of Tacoma!), and moving (just started going through what we don't want bring and donating things). So things have kicked off.   I'm not so sure of the job, it would be good to work with my former employee (he's great) but I fear the culture may not be super welcoming to someone like me--and the guy doesn't know I'm trans in any way. But I'll give it a shot as my authentic self and see what happens!

@LadypcnjI'm sorry. I know the feeling my mom thinks I'm going through a phase too although I didn't come out till April 17, 2023, so it was later in life. I was in denial majority of my life. I would love to hear more about this if you are comfortable sharing more of it.

I love fashion. I have over 100 dresses and 74 pairs of shoes. My walk-in closet is full of other clothes as well. I'm getting more shorts soon. SHEIN is awesome for quality and price. Just when you get a leather coat from them it's just the shell not the liner. Most of my shoes are from Torrid because I wear size 13 women's.

Unfortunately Oklahoma is about as bad as Texas but definitely not as bad as Florida. Especially as a minor!

I'm sorry @Ladypcnj I can only sympathize with you on that. Therapist on the other hand is crazy. I have had 16 in 10 years. It sucks having to have to go over things. I will say though after 6 therapists I didn't have to explain my history they simply read the history.
