It doesn't matter if Jamie Lee Curtis was born intersexed or not. She is a real person and is entitled to live her life in privacy. But the information that accompanied this arrticle is interesting.

I don't think this TOPIC willoffend anyone, but please know it is placed here for information, only. Personally, I know very little about the condition, and it is my understanding that even the term 'Intersex' is questionable.

That's interesting, Lizzy....

Because I received an e-mailk recently saying this about her and did the snopes and read that very same page!

I agree with you, though...Intersexed is one condition that I know very little about!

HUGGS!

Because intersexed isn't one indelible condition. It ranges from minor chromosomal anomalies to true hermaphroditism.

Yeah, from what I've been taught there are eight different types of Intersexuality. So it would be a rather difficult topic to grasp one definition of.

Hi Lizzy,

I do find this is an interesting topic. That's because you are right about those persons who are born with intersex conditions. They have a right to live their lives in peace without people making assumptions behind their backs.

Intersex conditions together affect a large group of people. A lot more than meets the eye. Many of the people that have intersex conditions never know it.

I am an intersex person. I have a intersex condition known as Klinefelters Syndrome, otherwise known as xxy or 47 xxy. There are variables in this condition such as more x chromosomes or more y chromosomes. As well there are mosaics which is a combination of variables.

I believe that being xxy and not realizing it for most of my life helped to make my life miserable. At times it was really embarrassing not knowing why I didn't seem to fit in anywhere. Now I am a trans person but I still will always be intersex.

I just want to say this to the "normal" people. If you aren't an intersex person, you will never know what it feels like.

Love,

Thtufus

I hestitate to say this in open forum - my theraist and my prescribing physician have both told me I am most probably intersexed (if that makes sense), but I won't pursue it.

I was fertile enough to have three children, so I doubt it is a severe Klinfelters Syndrome, more probably double sexed as I apparenty had surgery down there at birth. My parents were very careful to raise me as a male. I was a docile child. I grew extremely tall and was very thin most my life, NEVER able to play sports, but I did not have trouble scholastically, so who knows. My T level before starting HRT was in a woman's range, 140 - my HRT dosages are lower than most..

I AM transsexual and have been my entire life. So I did transition the last two years - and now I feel I belong on this earth - for the first time.

Whatever it is, we do suffer, just because we are 'different' somehow. Sad...

Maybe some day people will realize all the miseries people suffer from hidden birth abnominalies.

One thing I have figured out since I began to learn about xxy and intersex transitioning is to never criticize other people's ideas about their genetic realities. From what I have learned about xxy is that not all of us are sterile. Not all of us are male either, but you can't explain that to a doctor. I have a friend that goes to my support group who says she has a moderate form of Klinefelters Syndrome and she has fathered 4 daughters. When I first heard this, I was quite put out but since then I've come to the conclusion that even the doctors don't know what it's all about. Who am I to talk?

When I went to see my therapist, I used to talk often about xxy and GID. The psychiatrist said the two are not connected, but after a couple of years of therapy, he came back and said that there's a good possibility that there is a connection. He said he believes that because he has had other patients with the same story.

Tall and thin is one of the symptoms of xxy but many of us are short and pear-shaped. I am the latter. Because of my poor self esteem I was quiet and easy to get along with. My mother said that as a small child, I would sit by myself on the porch.

Anyways, apparently the only way to know for sure if you have xxy is to have your blood drawn and get a karyotype.

You could also have another type of intersex too especially if you had infant surgery. Most people who are transsexuals don't reveal much about their intersex conditions because, as it says in the DSM IV, the diagnosis (of GID) will not be made if the individual has a physical intersex condition.

I know that J L C was born with double Y genes and that she has led more than just an ordinary happy life, but is well adjusted with her own children and success that few achieve in this world and that is despite having at the minimum ,a dysfunctional father, but blessed with a warm and wonderful mother..

I think her mom was the murdered actress in Psycho.

I could be wrong...

I donno

I am kinda sorry I opened up this door - I mean personally. I just want to be what I know I am, and it's complicated when the idea of 'intersexed' comes into play. THAT is why I won't pursue it.

I met Jamie Lee waiting for my father coming home on a flight from London, England. I sat against a wall next to her and talked to her for about 45 minutes. She was very charming and very friendly. She was waiting for her boyfriend on the same flight. Regardless of her "status" she is a very nice woman.

Hugs,

Isabella

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well yesterday was not fun. I was getting ready to make dinner and I hear screaming and crying. I look over and my son put his foot through glass. He gashed near his Achilles tendon. Thankfully that is intact. I didn't freeze for a second. All of my military training came into play. I doctored him up and got Jett ready and myself and we headed to the ER. He is doing ok today. He says he is in pain but doesn't need Tylenol. He is a tough cookie!

Hi,   It's seems today is my trans birthday.  I'm beyond excited. Just picked up my testogel from the pharmacy. Although I naturally have doubts as I'm sure do we all, they are rapidly disappearing. Yesterday I was so nervous I kept claiming I'm not trans, despite grinning like a fool knowing I can pick up my prescription the next day. I'm shaking and on the verge of happy tears. I will put on my first sachet this eve. Thanks so much to this forum and kind words from people. This is the first forum I found when I began seriously questioning.

While the Soviet Union did not end up being the source of all evil, I believe that history has shown that Joe McCarthy generally was right. There ARE all kinds of Marxists slithering around. And if that had been dealt with firmly 75 years ago (or more) the nation wouldn't be in the shape that it's in now.    And while I generally oppose the idea of intervening in foreign affairs, the world probably would have been better off if we had taken care of issues in Russia and defeated the Bolshevik Menace back in 1919. God bless the memory of Admiral Kolchak.   Getting back to project 2025, my belief is that Republican efforts are inappropriately focused on trans folks. A minority of a minority does not wreck a nation. But it is easier to focus on trans folks because they can look like they're doing something. They don't have to address the real problems, and really they don't want to address them because they would have to address themselves.  They would also need to admit that the 50 State version of the USA cannot be saved.
