A Little About Me...

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm Evie. I joined this forum to meet new people, and to become more active in the TG community. I'm a 29 y/o M2F girl. I began gender therapy and HRT at age 19, and continued with transition until age 25. By then I had made a full social transition, working and attending college as a female. That was the happiest, most content time of my life. Around that time, my previously supportive SO became very critical and asked me to choose between our relationship and the expression of my identity. Mistakenly, I chose to remain in an unhappy marriage, mainly to be there for my daughter. I cut my hair short and stopped HRT for almost 3 years. Six months ago, my SO and I finally separated and filed divorce papers. Soon after our separation I began moving forward with my transition once again. Although I'm currently dealing with many complicated issues, I can at least find comfort in my freedom to be true to myself... Some people have had trouble understanding that being a female isn't just some choice I made on a whim. I am a woman to my core, and I have learned through experience that I cannot find happiness unless I'm able to express myself.

Hi Evie,

I am so glad that you came here to share your experiences with us and we will share ours with you.

You have had an interesting time with the pause in your transition - it must have seemed like your whole life was on hold, I know it did while I was trying to hold my marriage together but at least you were doing it for a good reason, your child was more important to you than yourself - that is a sign of great character.

In that spirit of love and caring I am going to invite you to have a seat and get all comfortable and please look over the forum rules while I get you our traditional greeting, some of my fresh baked cookies and some of Donna Jean's wonderful hot cocoa - would you like miniature marshmallows on yours?

As you hold the mug in both hands and raise it toward your face you will feel the warmth, that is not from the cocoa but from all of the loving and caring members here in the playground - as the morning finds its way to the others they will come to greet you too.

Welcome to our family.

Love ya,

Sally

Welcome to Laura's Evie. I am glad you found the site and was willing to share yourself with us. I am currently married with kids myself and with a wife that doesn't want to discuss my GID. That being said I can understand where you are coming from with your ex-wife.

When you have a chance take a look at the terms and conditions located at the top of most pages. We are a moderated site and keep it pg-13.

I look forward to seeing more of your posts so if you have any questions or have any experiences you would like to share just post them and we will try to help.

OMG Evie!

Well first welcome to LP.

But I'm so sorry about your marriage. I know how bad we want these things to work and it had to take amazing strength and self-sacrifice for you to go from living full time to going back in the closet. It must have been so emotionally draining.

After numerous years on HRT and then almost 3 years off HRT I hope the long term damage from the T creeping back in was minimal.

I started hormones decades ago and stopped and then just started again a month ago. But the first time was illegal and this time it's legit. And with a doc doing the dosage I notice more real changes with just t-blockers than a longer time on who knows what level of estro.

Good morning, Evie...

Welcome to the Playground.

I'm Donna Jean

Sweetheart, I have to cringe at the thought of you cutting your hair and re-assimilating back to into the male world...

It must of taken a lot of courage to go that route to try to keep a relationship work...

Now you're on the correct path again and I wish you all the luck in the world...

It's so nice to meet you!

Hi Evie

Welcome to Laura's Playground.

You certainly have gone through a lot. It's a shame about your marriage, because from my point of view, you gave a lot to keep it working, a lot more than others may have. That it still didn't work speaks to other issues. But the important thing is, you have your life back on track, and with that comes the peace you need to be able to deal better with all the other things life has to offer - and throw at you.

We're glad you're here to share, maybe to learn a little, too.

Hugs,

Chloë

Hi Evie,

Welcome to Laura's! Nice to have you join us. I am 52, and just started down this path a few short months ago. That must have been a wonderful experience in college! I can only imagine how it would have been, being female in that realm.

Please keep posting as you are comfortable in doing so.

Huggs,

Opal

Hi Evie,

Nice to have you on the forums. I think it is wonderful that you were able to first start at 19. Many of us, while knowing who we really were, were not able to start until much later. Your story with your wife is familiar with a lot of us. I stopped my first attempt to transition partly because of similar issues. Some of us are able to battle the rest of our lives pretending to be someone we are not but we can never be really true to ourselves. Now, 15 years after my first attempt, I found that I just could not ignore who I am any longer so have started transition once more. I have also found it much easier this time around.

There are a lot of people who just can't get it that what we do is not by choice but by being driven to be who we are. Who in their right mind would take our path if it were a choice? I think they just can't get beyond thinking that this has something to with kink.

I am going to have to get back over to chat someday. I was there once and found it hard to keep up with everything going on so I usually just hang out here where I can concentrate on one topic at a time.

Hugs

Mia

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Your support had definitely improved my outlook on things. It's strengthening to know that others have been through similar circumstances and have come out on the other side healthy and happy.

Good afternoon everyone,   I often wondered why @April Marie and @Willowgot up so early in spite of being retired. Now that I have my own puppy as a house pet I get it. We haven't had dogs since before my oldest granddaughter was born 22 years ago this September. I've always had working hunting dogs, and it was important they became acclimated to the current weather conditions. While the kennels had large outdoor runways, they also had pet passes into the somewhat temperature controlled garage. Yes, they were allowed in the house but only for short periods of time. Fast forward to present time, and I'm potty training a puppy as well as crate training. The first night Parker Von Schwinegruber, slept from 10:30 until 05:30. Last night we went to bed and 10:30 and he started making noise at 05:00. Since I don't want to test his ability to hold his business, we got up and went outside. He took care of business and we went back to sleep. This time he had a dental chew bar and I filled his water bowl. We cat napped until 08:00 and then got up for the day taking him immediately outside. He took care of business, and we played fetch and tug of war with his now favorite puffball. We came in and I put him back in the crate positioned so he could see me cook breakfast. Did he NO HE WENT TO SLEEP! We ate breakfast, did the dishes, and finished off the pot of coffee I brewed at 08:00. Once he woke up we stared at one another for about 20 minutes, because he seemed content to be in the crate. I got up and we worked on some obedience training as well as getting into and out of the crate with permission. We don't want him to crash the gate or any doors we will be going through.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I have not heard about it here in California, but then again we have events of various sorts going on very often, and not just in the June Pride Month.  We have Trans Fashion Week going on at a hotel complex over in West Los Angeles for the next three nights featuring shows by Trans fashion designers and modeled by Trans and NB people on the runways there.  I missed a chance for some free tickets and while I know and love many of the participants I do not want to pay for the tickets which will be in the $50 to $75 range, and which at those prices are nearly sold out.  (Not to mention $25 valet parking each night at the venue complex.).  There will be actual high end fashion buyers there though and it is an area where we are gaining some good footing.  I also admit that NONE of the fashions are going to be anything at all that would fit my basic personal style but look fine if not crazy on my much younger Trans siblings who will model them. (Ok everyone else keep on @Mirrabooka's topic.)

Welcome to TransPulseForums @gizgizgizzie    I hope you find this place as helpful as I do. I’m also in a slow transition living in the androgynous world. I’m out to my grown children and my extended family with mixed support from them. Some have cut me out of their lives and others want me to be their flamboyant family member.    Best wishes, stay positive and motivated    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Accidents happen.  So do heat-of-the-moment murders, without premeditation or trans-related hate.  It will take a trial to really figure it out.     One thing we can see from this is that it is people in our circles of acquaintances, friends, and partners who are the ones who usually hurt us.  Not someone random. We have to be careful who we trust.

Friday May 17th is IDAHOBIT (International Day Against HOmophobia, BIphobia and Transphobia).   Do you acknowledge or celebrate it? Do you do anything special for it, like taking part in any organized events or activities?   I'm not an activist and I prefer to fly under the radar, but I am slowly becoming aware of important dates. I have been aware of the date of IDAHOBIT for a few weeks now, but other important 'rainbow' dates have not been etched into my brain yet.    I will wear my favorite pride t-shirt as a token acknowledgement of the day, but it probably won't be seen; cool weather here will mean that it will be hidden under a sweater.

Happiness for me comes from being cognizant of the things that make me feel good.   Sunshine.   Pandering to my inner woman.   Knowing that some people in my life really 'know' me.   Vacations, and Eggs Benedict at an alfresco cafe.   My wife and I being telepathic.   Grandchildren.   Music.   Wine!
    • Ivy
True.  Every trans death is not a hate crime. There is so much hate expressed by some people, that we kinda get to expect it.

happiness to me is being ME. At all times, and it has yet to happen.

Hello & welcome, giz! Your post makes me remember how excited I was to join here too. I also had queer friends at the time I joined, but any of my trans friends lived a long distance away. So most local queer friends are gay & I felt uncomfortable coming out to them bc I couldn't assume they'd understand genderqueerness. So it was a thrill to join here and immediately have access to do many wonderful, genuine, kind & thoughtful friends-to-be.   Are you saying you're concerned that if you come out to your queer friends that somehow your parents will find out?     My love, I just want to affirm that that's not a weird dysphoria. It's just dysphoria. And we definitely get it. You're in good company here!     Look forward to seeing you around here & getting to know you. I shoot for androgynous appearance as well, leaning towards masculine.   Hope you're having a splendid day!

Listening to a YouTube mix for me and this song came up and I immediately fell in love again and just want to play music with like minded musicians playing OUR music and feel the joy and fulfillment even if no one else gets it. I love to fall into the music....
