Reached A Milestone Today

On May 1 this year iwhen the gender dysphoria really struck me, I set a goal to lose weight by diet and exercise. At the time I weighed 255 pounds. Well...this morning when I stepped on the scale I weighed in at 199.8 pounds. I can't believe I've lost 55 pounds in 4 months. I never starved myself either, although losing the last 5 pounds took a few weeks. I'm not done yet, I still need to lose more in the gut. So I've been concentating heavily on abdomen exercises. My goal at the start was to reach 185 pounds as the max. I feel I'm in the home stretch.

It's amazing when you achieve a goal or reaxch a milestone how much the action melts away depression and builds self-esteem. And it's something to build on.

WOW- congratulations girl. I am also loosing weight but haven't achieved even close to you. I started at 302lbs in feb and am currently at 273- 29lbs lost. I did start hormones in April so I think that has slowed me down a bit. I no longer wish for 200lbs cause I am going to do it. Even if it takes a while.

But today is about your achievements. Once again congratulations. A job well done. Good luck on those last few pounds. (even though you don't need any luck)

Luv Nadine

Miss our talks - grin! Now I see what you have been up to - losing that other part of you, literally - losing some pounds! GRAND

Please stay healthy on your diet. The rule is 1 pound a week and not to exceed 2 pounds a week. However, when starting out most people carrying a lot of weight DO lose a good part rather quickly. But now on - make sure your rate of loss is reasonable - so you can (1) keep it off and (2) look good when you get to your goal.

Again - congradulations.

Congrats, Jen! That's what I call will power. Not too far to go now.

You will make your goal, I'm certain of it.

Thanks Davie! And don’t worry, I didn’t take it that way. It’s just such a big topic I can only hope to tackle it one bit at a time.

This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

USA doctors denounce Cass Report, support trans folks.  The Endocrine Society And American Academy Of Pediatrics Respond To Cass, Reject Bans. In recent weeks, the Cass Review out of the United Kingdom has been used to argue for bans on care. I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.
