Howdy yall, I didn't know whether to put this in my introduction or not, so delayed it till now.

I will be getting FFS done on Sept 7th (Tuesday,) and am using Dr. R. Scott Yarish. The consultation went well, felt comfortable and at ease with the staff.

Both the Doctor and Staff didn't believe I have been on hormones for only 3 months (4 months on Sept 10th,) and he recommended only these.

Procedures I am getting done:

Browlift Frontal Bossing, Rhinoplasty, and Tracheal Shave.

I did ask about Breast Augmentation, but I am holding off on that till after being on HRT for a year or more.

Will try and update yall after the surgery.

That's really exciting, Valerie. I know you are going to be beautiful after the surgery (well,

after the swelling goes down, anyway :P ).

I wish you all the best and hope for a speedy recovery. Please let us know how it goes.

Geez, Honey.....

That's just in a few days!

Wonderful....

I looked at your pics in the gallery and now I have something to gauge against...

I hope that we get some "after" shots to compare when you're all heled up!

Good luck, Sweetheart...

Keep in touch....OK?

Well I am back home, and recovering well. Monday I go back to get the stitches removed. The swelling is down, and minor pain. I look worse than I feel. Hehe.

Valerie hon,

I am glad everything went well, i do not plan on FFS but i know what you must look like right about now, it can make a world of difference as far as passing and your confidence level, once you are healed up and the swelling goes down you must show us pictures.

Sure Emily;

I got Browlift Frontal Bossing, Rhinoplasty, and Tracheal Shave.

I had the surgery on Tuesday afternoon, and was driven to the Hotel Suite by the Nurse. (Two nights are included in the Hotel, but since I didn't have a family member that wished to support me, I hired the nurse, and Stayed till the follow up Friday. .. instead of driving 2 hours there and back within two days.)

The nurse was on top of her game, and checked on me what seemed like every thirty minutes, made sure to change the ice in my ice mask, plus had me walk around the room to improve my circulation (She did assist at first since I was still doped up,) She also checked my blood pressure to insure proper healing of the face and all.

The next day the Doctor checked me out and made sure I was strong enough to stay by myself. Nurses cleaned my dressings and showed me how to clean the stitches. Sleep sitting up in a recliner or on a ton of pillows.

I went for my follow up on Friday and was able to drive home myself.

So far as I said I look worse than I feel. I clean the stitches three times a day with Peroxide and then use Bio-Oil which they provided (Plus several E-Friends that swear it's the fountain of youth for scars, burns, and aging skin,) and gotta say it's a relief.

So far I have hardly had to take any of my pain medication and am mostly annoyed by how much my entire face itches even around the stitches of my hairline.

Where the Trach shave was done, my throat was a little sore when I swallowed, but has gotten better. I have been using cough drops to help out with that.

Hopefully this helps out a little bit. Oh and you might have to take the xanax to help you sleep the first night home. I found myself a little wired while trying to sleep in my bed. Hehehe

Val.....Wonderful to hear that you're doing well..and, thank you very much for posting about your experience. I know that lots of girls are curious about what goes on whether they are getting it or not.

I'm anxious to see the pics...just take good care of yourself and heal up nice....ok?

Good on you, Hon....

So far the hardest part of all this is not allowing my daughter to see me right now, no matter how much she begged. Her mother and I agreed it would be a little too much for her.

Anyways the stitches come out tomorrow and hopefully I get to see my new nose. :D

Sorry I haven't been writing, but been resting alot. I'm healing pretty quickly and everything looks great! Still wearing the head wrap, and having slight headaches every now and again.

My best friend came over the other night and saw me for the first time since the surgery. He was amazed and also speechless. Though I am still healing and looking a little rough. I got back on the 27th for another followup. Hopefully then I can be cleared to wear make up and my wigs.

I can't wait for my Therapist to see me this Wednesday Teehee :D

@LadypcnjI'm sorry. I know the feeling my mom thinks I'm going through a phase too although I didn't come out till April 17, 2023, so it was later in life. I was in denial majority of my life. I would love to hear more about this if you are comfortable sharing more of it.

I love fashion. I have over 100 dresses and 74 pairs of shoes. My walk-in closet is full of other clothes as well. I'm getting more shorts soon. SHEIN is awesome for quality and price. Just when you get a leather coat from them it's just the shell not the liner. Most of my shoes are from Torrid because I wear size 13 women's.

Unfortunately Oklahoma is about as bad as Texas but definitely not as bad as Florida. Especially as a minor!

I'm sorry @Ladypcnj I can only sympathize with you on that. Therapist on the other hand is crazy. I have had 16 in 10 years. It sucks having to have to go over things. I will say though after 6 therapists I didn't have to explain my history they simply read the history.

I followed you and will give you my advice when I can. It has happened to me a lot too. If you want to you can always message me and I'll get back to you ASAP. I understand your concerns.

I don't use it.   One of my daughters gave me a little to experiment with, but I haven't.  My youngest tried to put some on me once, but I din't like it.  The light was pretty bad admittedly. My ex didn't use it, and my daughters didn't use it much either when they were still at home.  (If so it was very subtle) And I don't often notice it on women my age (mid 70's)   I shave every day.  But my beard is not heavy, and essentially grey, so it's not real noticeable unless you get close with good light.  I was starting to look into electrolysis, but the pandemic hit, and I just kinda dropped it.   Sometimes I do wonder about it though.

It's something I'm just learning but I find I actually enjoy the 'craft' of it in addition to how it makes me look. Even after a fresh shave, I have a mild 5'clock shadow. For me, the primary use of makeup is to get rid of that. I'll start with the orange concealer over facial hair areas and a bit under my eyes. Liquid foundation over that and light concealer used judiciously over that (still dialing that part in). Then just a tad of powder to bring color back in certain places. There are a number of Youtube tutorials on that layering process.    I'll also pencil in my eyebrows a bit since they're blonde and otherwise not very visible. Sometimes I'll get adventurous and give mascara a try but that's a delicate skill and usually I mess it up. I don't particularly like lipstick, but just ordered a 'lip pencil' to experiment with. Hoping for a more subtle effect.

Sunday is my weekly ablution day - all of the parts that need occasional shaving get their required attention. The weather is rainy and cool today so after the ablutions and shower, I put on blue jeans, a gray t-shirt and a black front-zip hoodie along with gray sneakers.   And, I did put on make-up, not to impress anyone but just to feel as if I'm looking my best....as good as that can be given this woman is now 69 years old.

There are lots of us here willing to offer support, ideas, a shoulder or just a smile. Working with your therapist and finding your true self can be difficult process...but it will also be filled with wonder and joy as you discover that person who's been waiting inside you to be found.   Just know that you are not alone.

Thank you KayC!  I am just trying to keep breathing. I don't have a huge amount of time in my life for self exploration.  My job and responsibilities have me second guessing all my inner work.  I do have time off in the summer - coming up soon as I am a teacher.  Only a few workshops.  Looking forward ward to some introspection.     :) Mealaini
