Human Growth Hormone

It's been too long.

So, lately, I've been going through some sort of emotional train wreck because of my body. I want to do anything and everything I possibly can to correct it. And a major thing I can't get over is my height. I thought I was 5'6", but I guess I'm in between 5'5" and 5'6". I know it may not be that big of a difference, but to me it's immense. I've looked for ways to make myself taller, since I'm not gonna start T for a long time and I doubt my growth plates are still open for the T to affect, and I heard about human growth hormone. This seems like a super legit way to get taller, and hopefully make my hands and feet bigger. But I don't know how to get it. I'm not sure if you can only get it if you have a hormone deficiency or what, but I'm interested in it.

No idea why I spent all that time explaining, but the point of me posting this thread was for some help. Any of you guys tried HGH? Know anyone who has? Does it work? Know any other ways to increase height and hands/feet size?

Thanks!

I have known one child who took it for a growth problem and she and her parents all felt that it was a mistake because the side-effects outweighed the benefits. It is a powerful substance and can only be prescribed.Serious side effects include:

allergic reactions

back curves to the side

breathing problems

changes in vision

ear pain or infection

headache

lumpy, thinning skin at site where injected

nausea, vomiting

pain in hip or knee

swelling of the feet or hands

unusually weak or tired

Less serious:

bone or muscle pain hair loss

pain and swelling at site where injected

If you are referring to the over the counter HGH it is really just hype. If it really worked there wouldn't be a short man on the planet and there are many your height or less.

Wish I had better news.

I'm not sure about this, but I think that your bones still have to be growing in order for it to work. If they're done growing and your growth plates are already fused, I'm pretty sure it won't make you any taller. HGH is used in adults, but for reasons other than increasing height.

HGH is dangerous. I would NOT recommend going near that stuff. That said, I have the same issues as you - I am about 5'6 1/2" (every half inch counts :P) and I can't get over the fact I'm not at least average male height. Technically, there is still potential to grow until your early to mid-twenties. I am 20 so I'll be cutting it pretty close (looking at starting T soon.) Other than T, there are other ways to stimulate human growth hormone that are safe and can also have some other health benefits. There is some indication that L-Arginine, a kinda "semi-essential" amino acid, stimulates HGH production. My plan is to start drinking whey protein shakes which have this as well as some other muscle-building (and possibly HGH-stimulating?) amino acids in them. I also plan to take L-Arginine supplements in addition to that. You can buy these over the counter at a place like GNC or the Vitamin Shoppe. I have been doing research into this stuff and looking for safe ways to maximize my height... because if you are under 25, you do still have some chance of growing a bit more. In particular, I am looking at this product:

http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/opt/whey.html

It has some amino acids in it. There are other products that are targeted specifically at HGH stimulation, but these didn't get as high ratings as this whey shake (which got 9/10) so that is why I am leaning towards buying this one. Also, it helps build lean muscle mass as well (and when you work out, whey protein is good for "feeding" your muscles to maximize building them up.)

So I would be really careful with HGH stuff. It's dangerous and you're better off taking supplements that are safe, over-the-counter, and additionally, provide other benefits such as building lean muscle mass.

Hope that helps a little!

I only heard about the joint pain and that, but none of that other stuff. Sounds terrible!

The supplements I'm interested in, as well and stretching. I just want a sure fire way, and if that's not possible, then I'm spit outta luck. D:<

If your posture is bad, working on that may help as well. I actually want to go to a chiropractor and ask about spinal decompression because my posture is awful. you can also do arm hangs (like from pull-up bars) to decompress your spine. There's really no sure-fire way. But according to his site:

http://ftm.org.uk/faq/hormones

Testosterone is unlikely to make you grow, but many younger FTM's (under 25) do report some small growth in height, and some say their feet get bigger.

So yeah, it's not common but it couldn't hurt to try to up your chances (safely of course!) i do know that Kyle (Zabrak) said that T made him taller, and he started T at... 20 I believe? If he is around maybe he can clarify this for me.

A friend of mine who is a bio-girl was only 5 feet tall, went through puberty early, and about 6 or so months ago, she said she went to the doctor and found out she grew an inch. In someone who is short, especially a female, at 20 years old, you would think there is no chance at getting taller. But it does happen :)

I've known three people to take HGH, but for all three of them it was during puberty and they were all diagnosed with Growth Hormone Syndrome (usually meaning they had to be under the vertically challenged cut off height for their respective bio genders, but not diagnosed with dwarfism). I was under the impression it was only prescribed for cases such as that. One of my friends with Growth Hormone Syndrome was also stretched. I do not recommend that, man. She's so freaking thin... literally skin and bone.

My uncle (bio male, early forties) said that he grew two inches after doing yoga for a while. You could try that too.

Hey, I know how you feel, I'm shorter then you are :P anywhere from 5'2" - 5'4" ... no joke, it fluctuates that much. The reality is, everyone's fluctuates though. That's why when they measure people for the Guinness Book they measure a few times a day and take an average. But honestly, 5'5"/5'6"... that's not that short.... jus' sayin' B)

Oh, and I just noticed you are in Wisconsin, no wonder you feel short... I use to live up there, one thing I've noticed is that average height seems to be regional. Up there, all my apartments made me feel short, and seemed there was taller guys. Down here in Florida, all my apartments have made me feel tall (height of counters, etc) and there's lots of guys, who aren't born like us, that are under the so-called "average-height" ..

During COVID lockdowns without any place to go, some neighborhood buddies and I would play Life for hours (imagine a bunch of middle aged men playing that game, it was a hoot - all sorts of 'house rules')... anyways, as much as I could get away with it, I would choose a pink peg to represent myself... sometimes even had a female name to go with it... this was before I even really pondered whether or not I was trans ...   I was very determined to do this ... so interesting to look back and see all the threads pointing me to where I am now, though it has come as such a surprise as well...   Easy

Thank you all for the helpful responses... I realize some of HRT is for mental health -- like I said above I really am enjoying the ride so far in that regard!   Guess there is a part of me that wants to have my cake and eat it too. I want to have a nice feminine shape within reason for my age (fat distribution - you can kick in whenever you want!!). Yet, I am still not out to family, so I want it to be subtle enough as I go along that I can cover tracks when necessary ... Not the ideal situation but it is what it is ... maybe when family realizes that this is not making me into a monster, they will come around to some of it. I can hope, right?   More and more, I just want to look in the mirror and see a female body staring back at me ... I want female clothing that I put on to look like it fits me to a T... (and by T, I don't mean testosterone, lol)...    EasyE

Good afternoon M.A.   Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums, I think you'll find that there are a lot of us who had their first therapist reconsidering our story and recommended us to gender or LGBTQIA specific therapist. I made my first therapist cry after asking me what was my worst experience or memory. She was not prepared for the can of worms I brought to the couch. My second therapist is a gem, she's my age and knows how to work with my thoughts.    My two kids were also involved in the arts programs in school one in theater, the other combined art and modern music.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Welcome.   This can be a good sounding board and a place to say things you otherwise could not. Be yourself. Find out what that is.   Abby

I'm wearing a white t shirt and jeans.  The t-shirt is softer than a man's and slightly girly.  Feeling kinda pretty.

That's very common in internet forums and it is hard not to take it personally sometimes.   You might post "bump" with a smiley face to bring it to the top of the stack, or you might use the @ feature if there are certain people you would really like to have comment on it, and say something like Dear Abby, I would really like your input on this.  Please take a minute and respond.  Thanks!!!

The same for me... That's exactly were MmIndy came from. I started choosing female skins as soon as they became available in the few games I played.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Something else I noticed @Ladypcnj Since I use the Unread tab, I don't see threads I've read again until someone replies to it, or the author adds something.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Good morning @Ladypcnj   Some posts get lost in the busy times here. It also maters how people navigate the site. Some only look at their notifications, or tap the All Activity tab which shows them thread they've commented on. (how I see it)... I on the other hand use the Unread tag under Activity. I don't think people ignore post as much as they get caught up reading threads they've already been active in.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
