  1. 1. Do you believe dreams have a certain meaning, even if the meaning does not seem obvious?

  2. 2. Have you ever had vivid dreams, which left you disoriented (or worse) when you woke up?

    • Definitely!
    • Not sure...

Hello, my friends.

For a number of months, I have suspected I may be transgender. I suffered from (female) body envy, ever since I got on with puberty. And my libido seemed nonexistent, up to this day.

Three nights ago, I had the most vivid dream ever. The fact the memory still seems so vivid to me, now, compels me to commit my thought to 'paper'. My heart rate seems to pick up, right now, as I think about it. (I left the gym hours ago, so it cannot be fatigue...)This dream has rattled me, big time.

I am (in real life) a genetic male (XY, for the biology savvies). As I said earlier, I suspect my mind (my spirit, if you will) to not be (entirely) male. I suspect I may be transgender.

In the dream I was floating in the middle of the air; and I seemed to be enveloped in an all encompassing light. Light as far as the (my) eye could see. Very warm, and comforting light, at that. I was naked, and my body was entirely female.

Yes, female. And it all felt perfectly natural and real, too. I actually felt overcome by a sense of euphoria...

And just then I woke up. My euphoria quickly collapsed into sheer disillusion (and near panic), when I realized I had been dreaming. Guess I, now, have another reason to doubt my mental gender... as I do believe dreams have a certain meaning, even if it does not seem obvious.

It's a good thing I contacted a therapist, two days ago. This has only added to my uncertainty...

And just because I'm curious...

  • Do you believe dreams have a certain meaning, even if the meaning does not seem obvious?
  • Have you ever had vivid dreams, which left you disoriented (or worse) when you woke up?

Many thanks,

Tiaria

PS.:

I all ready touched mildly upon this topic on another thread. But to elaborate there seemed inappropriate, since it was partly off-topic.

Besides, I needed the space.

PPS.:

I've all ready been welcomed to the forum. So there is no need, even though I appreciate the sentiment ;)

That seemed like an amazing dream to have. If I were to have a dream such as that, it would be quite obvious to me what it would mean. I'd like to know (if you can remember), what exactly did you feel while experiencing that in your dream? Did you have any confusion, or was it more a feeling of being complete?

I have had dreams I can relate to this experience as well...

One dream in particular that sticks out, I was in what seemed to be an extremely well lit area. A lot of people I knew were there, and a lot I didn't know, however, everyone was addressing me using female terms. The strange thing is, thinking back on it now in the dream I never realized I was a woman. I remember feeling very satisfied, content even.

This was almost 10 years ago I had this dream.

Actually, there was no confusion whatsoever, during the dream. Everything felt like it had been that way, forever.

Well... after the dream was another story, all together. I almost felt like I had been robbed, as it were.

As for people... I did not have much time to look around (the dream seemed to last mere seconds.) I seemed to be alone, though the light almost felt sentient...

Thanks

Tiaria, that certainly was a dream worth remembering. Clearly you have trans issues on your mind, and this

is just a manifestation of those thoughts.

I've been having trans-related dreams for many months now, and one very vivid nightmare, which I described

in a post. I don't clearly remember many of them, but for a few seconds upon waking, they usually have me

in a good mood.

If you feel like it, keep a journal of such dreams, for yourself as well as for discussion with your therapist.

When I began telling my G.T. about my nightmare, it was the first and only time she ever took out a notepad.

I knew then that it was important. ;)

Well, I got pretty close to a panic attack, when I saw the ceiling and realised I was dreaming :(

I've had several of those dreams when I was a child. I LOVED these dreams. Unfortunately I haven't had a real lucid dream for years (though I may have had a bit of one a few months ago, and yes it was gender related :)). When I woke out of them I didn't feel disorientated per se, but very upset. I've had many other dreams of the subject, but only several of them have been the kind that felt real. If I could, I would just dream for the rest of my life and avoid the hassle of reality.

I don't believe dreams have a message in any kind of spiritual way, but I do believe that they are manifestations of your urges. How often do you have dreams like those about things you don't really want in life?

...actually, I wonder if people like us have more lucid dreams, as we have a real urge to achieve something, while other people simply dream of wealth and prosperity...

1up,

first up, welcome and big hugg, to go! :D

as I noted earlier, this dream didn't leave me disoriented, but rather disillusioned, bordering on panic when I saw the bloody ceiling.

Personally, I have wondered for quite some time, now, whether dreams actually are a way for our own subconscious to tell us something. Of course, lacking it's own mouth, It would depend on feelings, imagery, and metaphor, to get a message across.

As for some divine influence on our dreams? Nah!

As you are new to the forums, it's nice to have you!

Thanks :)

I can agree with the dissolution (though I've never heard that word used as a verb outside of the law, so your use of it confused me a bit). It really is upsetting , you just want to go back to sleep and dream forever... :(

1up,

just to be accurate,

I said "dis-illusion", not "dis-solution". Maybe this happened because I'm translating on the fly, from Dutch to English.

And yes, I would prefer to go back to sleep. But If you woke before your alarm clock, you are guaranteed to stay awake. :(

Love,

Tiaria

I have had gender related dreams but I have to admit I am a bit envious of such a vivid dream as the one described.

My transgender dreams have been slightly cloudy but thankfully less brief than a few seconds. My dreams took place during many different stages in life including some that I have not experienced yet.

sorry for my incomplete post. I tried to indent with the "tab key" but the post was submitted at that point instead. I apologize and I would just like to submit a proper and complete post.

As I was saying earlier, My dreams took place at different stages in life as if I was attempting to live a life that I had been deprived of. I drempt I was an elderly woman, a little girl in an amusement park and at every age in between. I wish I had more control over my dreams so that I could have such dreams more often and possibly for more extended periods of time but I just have to appreciate them when they happen. It is upsetting that I inevitably have to wake up from such dreams but I know that my bubble must inevitably burst. These dreams are a blessing and I am thankful for them in spite of being slightly envious of the vividness of the dream described to start this topic.

Funny how when i read the topic name i thought you were asking about the study of plants and animals.  I'm a bit into that as a farmer at va time when a cell phone makes plant  for insect identification easier than it has ever been.    Now on to your topic.  I don't farm in the nude.  I have wondered at whether i would skinny dip as i did as a kid without thought of how my body might affect others.  The effects of hormones makes me different from the average person and perhaps i'm "neither fish nor fowl".  I would certainly depend on who my fellow passengers on that cruise would be.   Hugs,   Charlize

This is also a relatively small forum and it can take a long time, seemingly, for someone to get around to replying to a post.

I am also pretty sure that several of them are folks who are "trans curious".  Sometimes folks who are trying to find their own identity, are attracted to trans folks or who are simply interested in the trans community.   There may also be some who wish to do us harm which is why ......... I've just learned to smile figuring "i'm on candid camera".   I'm sure many of our younger members never experienced that show so my age is showing.   Hugs,   Charlize

Most of those "guests" are web bots from China, Indonesia, France etc. looking us over. They are mostly benign.  All they can see or gain access to are the general forums.  Members should be careful not to post anything that could readily identify themselves such as real names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. They do not have access to our gallery, blogs or private messenger. They seem to haunt all forums. Not just us. I should add that they can make us known across the internet. That's how prospective members find us. Google would be a good example.

Heck I didn't even know they could go up that high! I just have a four burner and one to keep stuff warm. What kind of pies did you make?

That's all the matters.   Well me and the wife rode to Perkins for breakfast. As we were waiting for our food. Being it is Sunday There are a few gentleman in suits, my guess from church. I think to myself. I hope I never have to wear one of those monkey suits ever again. Now a nice dress maybe.   Hugs,   Kymmie

From time to time I've looked at 'Who Is Online" and I have consistently noticed that members are ALWAYS outnumbered by Guests by a wide margin, sometimes, like a minute ago, by more than a 10:1 margin.  I have never seen that before on an internet forum.  It can be explained partly by the nature of what this is, that it draws the curious and they are certainly welcome to read here, and to join, but it leaves me with a feeling of being in a fishbowl.  I wonder who ARE these people?  Donald Trump, is that you? Biden? Sinwar? Putin?  We can only guess.

So from time to time my brain gets a hold of information and puts it together with other information in weird way that get me thinking. I was reading about a nudes cruise that they are running out if Miami. It got me thinking that a transgendered person who is also a naturalist, has to be one of the most unlucky people alive. How does one manage that and does that ever come up? Not trying to make fun here, just genuinely curious. Things that make you go hmmmm....

No luck there, really. She's getting a signing bonus plus a little extra that I don't think would cover much in the way of the move, but it is something!   Oh my! I am glad to hear you're not passing anymore blood. I hope they figure it out soon! How distressing!   @April Marie @KymmieL @Mirrabooka @Willow @Justine76, thank you for the kind words and thoughts! We told our best friends last night. There were many tears. Now it's all about the work: selling the house (my wife's friend's son said he may want to buy it direct!), a job (a former employee of mine wants to bring me over to his company--and they're based outside of Tacoma!), and moving (just started going through what we don't want bring and donating things). So things have kicked off.   I'm not so sure of the job, it would be good to work with my former employee (he's great) but I fear the culture may not be super welcoming to someone like me--and the guy doesn't know I'm trans in any way. But I'll give it a shot as my authentic self and see what happens!

@LadypcnjI'm sorry. I know the feeling my mom thinks I'm going through a phase too although I didn't come out till April 17, 2023, so it was later in life. I was in denial majority of my life. I would love to hear more about this if you are comfortable sharing more of it.

I love fashion. I have over 100 dresses and 74 pairs of shoes. My walk-in closet is full of other clothes as well. I'm getting more shorts soon. SHEIN is awesome for quality and price. Just when you get a leather coat from them it's just the shell not the liner. Most of my shoes are from Torrid because I wear size 13 women's.
