Well.. Simple question and discussion, eh?

Do you watch any of them?

I'm an avid watcher of SP and I sometimes watch FG. But The Simpsons has gotten boring in recent years quite frankly, ever since the movie (which I do like actually). I've tried American Dad, but it's bleh. I like Ugly Americans too.

I can't stand south park. At all.

I do like The Simpsons and Futurama. I usually enjoy American Dad somewhat. I enjoy Family Guy about half the time. Ummm...That's it I guess.

I used to like Family Guy a lot more but I still watch it every now and then. I also used to watch Drawn Together when it was on. I might be in a minority here, but King of the Hill used to be my favorite "adult" cartoon on television. Too bad Mike Judge decided to stop doing the show.

I agree that the simpsons has gotten boring. I agree with the notion that the writers of the simpsons have made fun of everything and are all out of ideas. There is nothing left to write about. They have been on for over twenty years for crying out loud. How could they continue without some kind of decline? Do they have a bottomless bucket of ideas or has the oil well been tapped out? I'm sure they'll think of something but I can not see what else they can do with that show. I watch the reruns quite often but I usually don't bother watching the new episodes every week.

The one thing I do not like about adult cartoons is the tendency of the shows to resort to nonsensical and crude humour. What I like about the simpsons is that while there is still some stupid humour there is a lot less vulgarity than in many other shows. The simspons is still a very silly show but there are some clever jokes as well. The simpsons makes fun of reality more than any other adult cartoon and I can not get enough of the parodies. The simpsons is true satire. South park also makes fun of real attitudes and includes parodies but it is too over the top for me. I do not mean to be a party pooper but I enjoy real jokes more than I enjoy nonsensical humour in the form of talking bears and aliens in the attic. It is just too silly for me. Sorry for spoiling the fun but I do not feel comfortable laughing at anything too ridiculous.

I don't watch any of them. I find them too foul. There's nothing "adult" about them. They're mostly rude, foul, and obscene. I don't want to waste my time with that.

I grew up on cartoons, from the very first made for TV cartoon, Crusader Rabbit, through all the Hanna-Barbara junk, to the superimposed mouths in the mostly static Clutch Cargo cartoons, til finally the adult animated shows of today. I love the old Bug Bunny/Looney Tunes/Merry Melodies, and it killed me when they were replaced by mostly drivel on TV (Animaniacs or the Looney Toon kids). Thank goodness The Simpsons came along and rescued adult humor. I've watched South Park, but found it actually sort of boring. I enjoy Family Guy but it is a little raunchy. King of the Hill, while having some really good real life situations didn't interest me that much (the whole character of LuAnn really made me cringe, talking especially but everything else, too).

I do enjoy edgier stuff, like Trippin the Rift, Drawn Together, I like Futurama and actually have several DVDs. See, I liked the really early stuff like Out of the Inkwell, some of the early Tom and Jerry. But I also got a kick out of the junk that Crusader Rabbit spawned like Suzy Snowflake, Hardrock, Coco and Joe (get that tune out of your head if you can), Beany and Cecil.

What I really like is when the creators toss out references - and make fun of - cultural icons. When I'm out to dinner with friends, we sometimes talk about the doofus's on Dancing with the Stars, or American Idol, you know, current TV stuff. Now watch a supposed reality show or dramedy (30 Rock, or New Adventures of the Old Christine). Do they ever talk about things people actually talk about? Hah! Not on your life. They don't acknowledge anything about current cultural mores. They all disappoint me because of that. Give the animated writers credit, they know what we're watching and what we think about and talk about, and it isn't all bathroom humor.

Hugs

Chloe

added - see, forgot a whole bunch. I liked Daria, that was clean and edgy. American Dad is a little boring. Ugly Americans is a hoot. Are any of the characters still alive, or are they reanimated after being horribly destroyed (like Kenny).

South park, family guy, thngs like that...I'm with shilo there. Blech all around. To much smut and swearing...the jokes are...funny, i'll admit. But i don't like them because the're usually sexual in nature, and i try to stay away from things like that unless they're in good taste. You don't really find much in good taste nowadays... The simpsons is decent but i don't really watch it much either.

I guess this was commonplace in females. But if your prostate gland is still in place this can contribute to urinal difficulties too.

https://www.hrw.org/news/2024/05/15/peru-chooses-bigotry-medical-services     The Health Ministry tried to put the best face on this unscientific gibberish of a decree, but it won't diminish the harm it will do to the Pervian trans community.  They undoubtedly already suffer from severe discrimination and bigotry in a very macho-opriented society.   Carolyn Marie

I'd never heard of it until reading this.  From the thread title I thought it had something to do with the state of Idaho.  But perhaps combined with something about Hobbits, which seemed odd.  My brain goes in weird directions.

I had my surgery 11 years ago, and yes, I too find it much more of an urgent thing than it ever was before.  One possible culprit is going to be T blockers if you are still on them, also the urethral sphincter which holds the pee back is closer to the urethral opening now and more subject to stimulation. When we gotta go we gotta goooooo!!

I notice that the Wikipedia article does not mention the U.S.A. which I can understand a bit.  The entire month of June here is Pride Month for all the organizations and is tied to the 1969 Stonewall Inn riots in New York and also our medical authorities are also not tied as thoroughly to the WHO as they are to the American Psychological and American Psychiatric Associations which write the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health which is generally in line with the WHO which does not play as big a part in our medical practices here.  The WHO does not impact us the way it does the other world countries which is why we are in the dark about the day.  Ironically though, one of the U.S. States is named Idaho which sadly is one of the most conservative and frustrating to the U.S. LGBTQ Community.   The day is international though in the sense of other European and Southern Hemisphere countries it seems.

Hmm. Must have been that pesky 'International' word which made me assume that it was well known! I only became aware of it myself last year.   Brief history: May 17th is the day IDAHOBIT is acknowledged as it is the anniversary of when in 1990 the World Health Organization declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder. It was conceived in 2004 and first celebrated in 2005. It has gone on to include trans folk in 2009 and bi folk in 2015.   International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia - Wikipedia

A year and a half post op. I've noticed that once the urge to pee hits, I can only hold it for about 15 minutes or so until it gets to the point where I feel like I'm going to piss myself. I used to be able to hold it a lot longer (as I  remember it).  I know my urethra is a bit shorter now, but I don't think it is enough to account for this. Am I imagining it?

What a great moment @Vidanjali! It's always so cool knowing people are reading you in a way you want to be seen.

It's also networking.  Sometimes jobs come along because someone knows someone else - these older people might know someone.  "Hey, Ashley," someone might say,"My nephew is looking for love. He likes tall women. Whatcha think? Can he call you?"   Don't discount their ability to match make.  It is about networking.

He is simply doing to get more votes. He held a Trump for trans during his first run and found out the majority of his voters were against us so he simply followed the crowd.

The sad part is I'm the third oldest member. One is in their 60's and the other is past 70's. I'm even older than the president lol. It's a younger crowd that's for sure. I like to come here to feel young again lol.

Ashley, I think searching for relationships are a lot like searching for jobs, they tend to come along when you aren't actually looking.  Perhaps you could step back from actively searching, at least for a little while, and instead, concentrate on just being out and about as yourself.  Like Mae and Abby have already mentioned, just keep up your volunteering, but don't focus on a need to find someone.  Maybe, just maybe, changing your tactics will result in someone finding you.    I do wish only the best for you, and I hope someone comes along who connects with you.
