Today Is Your Gift

We are entering into what is called the holiday season

Which leaves so many of us searching for a good reason

We look at the ads for people who are obviously having fun

Everything from my past would indicate that I will have none

But this year is different not so much from my new place

Living here with my friend has been a truly saving grace

The difference is not so much of clime

But centered more around peace of mind

We look at Christmas as a time for giving

So much more it is also a time for living

Don't wait around for that special morning

I am giving you this very important warning

Each day is a gift possessing great potential

Yet we see so many of them as inconsequential

Do not leave this gift waiting under a tree

Each day was made to be filled by you and me

Is there something that you have wanted to do

Why not start it today, what is stopping you

Do you need some sort of special occasion

Are you waiting for a written invitation

Each day is precious and a gift from above

Make this one special and filled with love

Life is what you make of it so why not aim high

Don't look to ground set your sights on the sky

If you are waiting for someone else to make everything right

Each new day will just fade into still another lonely night

Don't wait for tomorrow or some special date start it tonight

Tell someone you love them and both of your days will be bright

It is time to give thanks for all of the good things

No longer focusing just on all of our short comings

Have a great day as you enjoy finding your way

To a happier life better with each passing day
